So much potential… wasted

I have likely spent as much time on Cardbase as anyone else. I downloaded it about a year ago and thought I found the answer to my prayers - a database that keeps track of my cards AND the prices they are trending at. Too good to be true?

In short, yes. Cardbase functions as you might expect from a third rate developer. Constantly glitching, wrong and not current information on card sales, features that have never worked (custom sales feed) and they almost never have updates. I think there’s been two, maybe three updates in a year. Compare that to CardLadder who updates and has new features that they actually implement every week.

I was all for Cardbase and used to have some dialogue with their CEO on suggestions to help improve it. I’ve invested too much time (1500 cards added with photos) to just walk away. But sadly, that’s what it’s come to. My emails to report issues are completely ignored for weeks and weeks.

Suggestion to the developers - listen to your customers. We use Cardbase - you probably don’t. At the very least, reply when we report glitches that are impairing our ability to use it.

Long way to go

this app along with EBay, who is beta testing a similar service, is attempting a live baseball card database whereby users can upload graded cards and have live value updates based on recent eBay sales for comparably graded cards. The problem is;
getting the card database uploaded in a standard template that can be mapped to eBay in such a way to get accurate price feeds, no easy task. Of the 600 plus psa graded cards I uploaded , a decent number, are not mapped properly and are missing price feeds and value updates from eBay. The service is a work in progress. Seems like a straightforward task, but with no uniformity for compiling the data (card mfg, player name, card #, psa grade and year) mapping the feeds from eBay presents a challenge. I would give this app an A for effort.

Excellent App This Far

This is a great app and online site. It’s great to see real data about card values and see it in real time. So far I love everything except having to pay for it. It’s a tad bit expensive in my opinion for the amount of features you get. It’s slim. The interface is nice though which is usually weak for other apps that function similarly. Bring down that price a bit or do membership sales periodically.

Login trouble

Cardbase is amazing at being able to scan cards in and showing us data on its value in the current world on real time value. The issue that I recently have come to is that when we have not used Cardbase , It kicks us out and we have to log back in, and when we do it does not allow us to log back in. We even tried to delete Cardbase and download it again. It still didn’t allow us in when we properly used our login. I believe that is a bug that needs to be fixed. Otherwise it is an amazing app. 4/5

So Close To Being A Dream

Cardbase is great. Easy to use. Decently easy to search for players. Although I wish the process went like this: Add Card -> Choose Manufacturer -> Choose Year -> Choose Sport - Choose Player -> Show cards in database. I wish the search results were a little more precise. When searching for a Tom Brady card, for example, I should only see Tom Brady. A feature, something like a simple line graph, showing total value and change of total value over x amount of weeks/months/years would be great as well.

Great so far

I’m not sure why so much tough feedback and reviews. So far when comparing to market movers the price beats it’s by far, the user friendly interface is great and easy to navigate, market movers also doesn’t have a mobile app and the web app has viewing issues when on mobile. I’m loving what I see already and can’t wait to see what upgrades come in the future.

Great Idea! But still needs some work.

Overall I think Cardbase has a lot of potential and so far it works well for most sets 2018 and before. But i’ve noticed there’s a lot of newer sets (ex: Hoops Premium) that still have a lot of issues, whether they are not there entirely or missing parallel versions of cards. I know it’s a new app so i’m not going to be too critical but i hope you can get a lot of the newer sets updated because I think Cardbase could be awesome to track cars prices.

New User

Tried some of the other card apps. This is hands down the best for beginners like myself. Easy to use & understand. ALL of my collection is from the 70’s & 80’s since it was purchased at a garage sale 20 years ago and Cardbase has been invaluable in finding & uploading my cards!

Awesome, however..

If it wasn’t for the 100 card limit before you had to pay it would be 5 star. I understand you can get more cards that will track the price changes etc by sending it friends via email, or sharing on social media. Other than that Cardbase is awesome and I check on it almost daily to see which cards are rising or lowering in price.

One thing to fix

I love Cardbase a lot but there’s one thing (in my opinion) that they need to change. So, when it shows the price for your card on your personal collection page, it pops up as the last sold price of the card. I think it’s a good idea to show the average sold prices because it’s (in my opinion) a better way to see what your card price is at.

Great app…when it’s working.

The whole idea of Cardbase is great. However I’m constantly logged off and then it takes me try after try to get logged in. Often I have to delete Cardbase and reinstall to be able to stay logged in for a few days and then I have to reinstall again. It’s a great idea when it’s working but with the issues constantly logging me off it really gets frustrating.

Impressive

So being new to card collecting I wanted to try something free. I think if I got into it more or someone who you can count on I would give this place my money. Every time I can’t find a card they have it resolved within 24 hrs if not faster.

Amazing but another feature would make it outstanding

A feature I really suggest adding is, for say I have a card and I bought it for $65 6 months ago and now it’s up to $85 but then I decide to have it graded and it’s a psa 10. It would be cool if Cardbase also showed our profit AFTER grading. But overall amazing app but I really hope this feature gets added.

Crashed

Usually a good app. Some frustration with having to retype card information rather than just sticking with the same series and simply typing the card number. Also, it crashes and takes far too long to come back up. I hope they fix this. I have taken a long time inputting my cards

Great app

When I first downloaded Cardbase they didn’t have many of my cards but after a few emails I had my entire collection in there. And the prices are very close to what they say

Great start

Cardbase is off to a great start. I love that I can see my existing cards and their most recent values. The only downside- and why I rated 4 stars, is because you can only track the price of 15 cards at this time. If you’re a card collector, most people are going to have more than 15 cards.

So Many Cards

The database of cards is better than any other card app I have used. I’ve been able to find every one of my card collection dating back to the early 90’s.

Card Base Review

Cardbase is working great for me. I’ve tried many, if not all, the other sports card tracking apps. CB is user friendly and its inventory does not compare to the others.

Not a lot of cards in data base

Hello, this is a good app if you have really popular cards like a.Rodgers, l.James for example. I have waited for 3 weeks for my cards I added to their data base to be reviewed and be tracked. Last time I waited for over two months and I reached out to the company and took them 2 days to finally approve the cards.

Nice app

It’s nice to find an app that will review my cards. Found it easy to figure out. Some cards aren’t in their data bank but only time and users will fix that. Enjoy.

Great Portfolio Tracker

Super easy to use! Can’t wait till they add in more cards.

Just sports cards

They advertise as having Pokémon but none in database.

When I first found cardbase I thought this was the answer to my issues. I have in herited a huge collection and wanted a way to track pricing as well as log all the cards. My issues stem from downed site multiple times and not able to log in. The other is the fact that yes they add yiur cards but you are to provide pics of the front and back. At first I didn't mind. Then I tried logging a bryan piccolo and if you collect then you know the man only had one card. That was my first sign true collector's or people in the business I don't feel run this site. I recently ran into an issue where they couldn't find the cards even though I provided the front and back and they refused to add them. I have since found the said set at vcp (more expensive) but maybe better for a huge collection. I think cardbase is great for small collection with newer cards. It gets tedious to constantly take pics
