COVIDAlertSouthAfrica has permissions to access all your Bluetooth and Internet connections sending your IMEI number that is RICA’d, to the authorities and letting them know who you are and where you are. COVIDAlertSouthAfrica is not anonymous at all. It invasive and should be avoided.
COVIDAlertSouthAfrica only works for government tests, if you get tested at Dischem or a different laboratory you cannot get a pin to alert others that they have been exposed.
Calling the helpline is 100% useless, don’t waste your time.
COVIDAlertSouthAfrica will only work if millions of people use it. I only see 5 reviews here (though it says 20). Why do I get the impression that there’s only a handful of phones running COVIDAlertSouthAfrica . Reason. Nobody trusts the government.
I don’t no what to say. App just doesn’t work. Disappointing.
It’s a great app but the President said it would work on all smartphones and it doesn’t.
My mothers iPhone 6 is not compatible with COVIDAlertSouthAfrica and that is actually really annoying.
It’s seems to be quite a simple app why can’t it work on older models.
But if it comes from South Africa there will always be more negatives than positives.
