Great!! A must have!!

I was fighting my game addiction so I was trying to find a game that’s still *fun* but *not addicting* and *not time consuming*, and this one is just perfect! I really love the feature that you need to work / study / focus on things in order to level up. Now it’s been a habit for me to open it when I start to work. The great thing is, it gives you a sense of achievement as you work / study, since you gain exp and points etc! Also, the time you focused can be used in next story stage, so you can work for a whole day and read several stages at night when you have the mood! Or if you are like me who start to have a habit to open this whenever you start to work, as you can imagine, you will then pill up 4000min+ focus time during the week and read many story stages on Sunday :D

The story is not very long (at this point to like stage 8.1 or 8.5 I think). But it’s not a problem. Even after story finishes you still can keep gathering points and exps to lvl up!

One suggestion is, can we have a count up timer? Or keep the rewards proportional to how long we have focused, when we stop the session earlier? I oftentimes face the scenario that “I planned to work for 2hr but then at 1hr 50min someone called me and I have to leave, so I must stop FocusQuest .” It’s discouraging that you lose all rewards when you do this.

Awesome for a while

I really love how FocusQuest takes my need to progress in an adventure game and turns it into focus time! My screentime has gone way down since I started. I feel like I’ve really hit a standstill in the story though and I’m becoming less motivated to put in focus time. I’m over 117 hours of focusing at this point and I feel like the story hasn’t progressed since around 80 or so. It’s just a lot of “exploring focus land” and no other development, even when I level up. Otherwise, I love FocusQuest and have found it super useful.

I have some ideas…

So more music and white noise options. Maybe some bouncy electronic music and Avengers inspired stuff. Sparkle white noise, gentle breeze, cat purring. And a quest for when you finish the story could be fun. Like you design another character as a crush for your hero and then your focus time goes towards the story where you meet them, try to win their heart, go on an adventure together, etc

Great so far except for one bug

Just downloaded FocusQuest , I was going through the tutorial and everything seemed smooth so far and the storyline is pretty great. But when it came to the training part of the tutorial the training button doesn’t work :/ perhaps it’s a bug or something. Other than that it seems like a pretty great focus app!

Fantastic app

FocusQuest is great but i do recommend a few things:
- add a way to turn off the mechanic where you loose the focus quest if you tab out
- add a way where you can change from a timer to a stop-watch type mode.
- add a way to pause the timer/stop watch if possible.

As someone with ADHD:
- The rewards on FocusQuest have a lot of variety and there wont be a time where you run out of things to upgrade. Many shiny options and objects. There are other ways to get rewards other than just focusing which i love.
- This makes working/studying seem more like a fun game than something that requires a lot of effort. It bridges that effort gap so easily.
- I recommend at the end of a study session or work session to get through the storyline as a great way to wind down.

Recommend 👍

I’ve had trouble focusing and studying for most of my life, and FocusQuest has helped me with discipline and I look forward to studying these days! Before, studying for 30 minutes was hard, but these days I can go for 2-3 hour sessions without getting distracted. 😀

Great app! Could be cool with friends!

Wonderful app, I just wish you could add your friends within the game, to study together! This should be something you guys really look into, I think people would enjoy it.

Love the visuals and options to play

This has been the best focus app this far! I’ve tried many other ones and this was the only one that got me staying focused after the thrill of a new app is gone. Just wish there was a way to add friends so we can compete and motivate each other to get more points!

Good game, needs a couple things

I like this game and the story so far is interesting. One thing I would like to add is a similar pomodoro style set up focus times. I also think that the amount of experience and money you get should increase, especially as you level up. So far so good for the first day. I’ll update soon.

Love the game!!

Fantastic app to help you stay focused. It’d be great to be able to change the appearance of the avatar but sounds like that’s already in the works based on the response in another comment. Thanks for creating such a cute and awesome game!

Appearance

Will there be an option to change your appearance after you’ve already chosen it? Overall, awesome game!

Love it, but room to grow.

FocusQuest is a great concept, useful as a freemium game that has a moral bent, helping kids focus! Only thing is they need a better editing/translating as there are many typos.

By

Love it!

Getting motivated is really hard for me, so this is perfect! I love the story aspect!! Keep it coming! Thank you!

By

Best productivity gamification!

The best gamified productivity app I’ve ever used! It has all the elements I want from this kind of app!

By

Gamify your time!

A great way to utilize gamification to increase focus and productivity in those of us with ADHD & ASD.

By

This app is awesome

But I rather not spend too much time purchasing and upgrading when the studying should achieve more for me. I like the concept

Crashes on Startup

The game looks like it would be fun, but the furthest I’ve gotten into it before it crashes is a split second after the initial loading screen.

Game changer!!

FocusQuest was a game changer for my productivity!

Maybe good but focus plant is better.

Focus plant has an offline feature. I wonder, why it doesn’t have that.
Also if I could sync focus plant and this one with the tags, then it would be phenomenal. However, it’s a nice app. Keep it up.

Definitely enjoying this so far

I have severe ADHD so Ive been seeking out apps to help me be more productive. This is my first day using FocusQuest but I genuinely like it. There are other gamified productivity apps that can barely be called games. As someone who genuinely enjoy rpg games. Essentially turning my more mundane, yet important tasks into a game makes it far easier for me to focus. Now instead of being depressed because each day passes by with my life getting nowhere. I can use FocusQuest to be more motivated :)
