4.5 out of 5
Aswosme game

Now this game is truly something great I love the mechanics the balancing everything even tho when I first got it I did have some difficulty with it because of how unique the game is I had never seen anything like this on mobile and I really hope John Gregory makes more games like this one but maybe one or two set in medieval times or maybe one set in Roman times even tho it would take very long but the only reason I didn’t give this a 5 star rating is that the game after every turn you get hit with a match maker game or something like that and that is very annoying because it is the same 60 second add every turn that isn’t close to related to this game I wouldn’t mind if it was a different add every now and then but I just always get the same add with the stupid music I truly do hate the add now that is shown but other than that I really love this game and hope it is improved even more and if you get this game please don’t delete it because you don’t understand the gameplay just work on it and understand the game more
Thank you for taking the time to read this review

Love the game but

I feel like this game is the best change in the UI which I think should be universal between the different games. Only issue with playing your other games is finding controls and remembering them so making them universal would be great. I also think the tutorial should take you to a game to demonstrate how to use certain mechanics because it’s more difficult to understand when you have to flip back in games if you miss a piece of directions.

On to things I love about the game like the ability to destroy villages or settlements which gives player power to wipe out a tribe or European country that has been giving you a hard time and I enjoy that destroy unaligned tribes has effects for example if they were Pohawtan then they would be upset or got to war which is a good element. I also love the pacing which makes you not want to expand too quickly making a realistic type strategy.

But I do really enjoy the game and I hope something like the American Revolutionary War comes out!

Great strategy game

Hello first let me thank you for making a very very good strategy game. I still need to hone my skills but everything is solid. It’s a little complicated to figure things out at first but I think this game could greatly benefit from having a option to speed up the A.Is turn or to even completely skip it. I love turn based strategy but I hate siting through the AIs turn. Keep it up this game is probably the best or one of the best hand held strategy games available

Has some problems that don’t distract to much

So I was playing a game of discover the new world as England when all of a sudden France of all nations wants to be my ally! Now I know what your thinking but England and France are allies while this is true today back then they were the biggest enemies like communism vs. democracy which btw you should make a game about. Anyways I found this to be a bit odd by ignored it and continued playing as it is a great game. Overall I give it a 4.9 out of 5 really good.

Great game but

Best game, better then ColoniesAtWar because it requires different tactics (considering shipyards instead of inland ports for boat building, city revolts, etc) Just wish you would make more scenarios, I’ve beaten every single challenge on both games on hard. Make a dlc or new game please bro I love you

Update -2025
Your still making these and I still love you. Can’t believe you update scenarios on all the apps.. just bought WW3 to support some more.

High replay value!

This is by far my favorite game by this developer all of the others are fun, but this one is next level. Having a number of recruits from which to build your armies make it feel realistic and you actually have to think about your builds. The developer regularly adds scenario’s and responds to suggestions. Best $6 bucks I’ve spent on a game in a long time and it hard enough I don’t always win a game!

Great Game!

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It’s simple but complex, I love the art style and very excited that the American Revolution was added. All the French and Indian levels are great too!
I play my Axis and Allies when I want my World War II fix, but there aren’t very good American Revolution war games out there except for this one! Checks all the boxes for me! Thank you for your time and energy you’ve put into this and hopefully you can build upon the American Revolution aspect.

Please read this

I really love this game, as well as 2 of your other games. I like how the generals have impact on your armies, and I like how the food system works. But I really need this specific thing to be added: PASS AND PLAY! I want to play this with my dad so bad but I can’t because this is single player. Basically how you made it so the AI takes its turns, all you have to do is add an extra player turn to one of the nations. But even if you don’t read this I still love your games. And if you add pass and play please also add it to your other games.

I can see a good future

I can really see this being a really great game. I have played the tutorials and I am very excited for my first game. I can really see (with some improvements) this being a top ten strategy game. They’re are some flaws though that can be straightened out. Like the game being very complex. It is a very complex game and you can get very easily lost. I suggest that you could improve the tutorials to better explain the game or make the people in the tutorials do more things. That’s my one bad thing about the game overall I am really excited to see how this game turns out and I am excited to see if this turns into a series

The Only Game I Play…

This is an excellent game. I don’t play any console games or computer games, however this game…. This is just great. I’ve got an old IPad that hasn’t updated in ages that I play on. I’m writing this review on my phone just so I can support the maker…

I’ve tried playing “Colonies At War”, but it’s so different with how the tools work & such I prefer this style. The only thing I’d change about F&I is I wish there was a mode to create your own scenarios. For instance, pick a nation & pick where to start & where to place other nations. Then play that match etc. Would be fun! Thanks again, God bless.

A new campaign called the quasi war.

Can you please make a new campaign in the game called the quasi war that takes place in 1798 where you can play as the USA, Great Britain, France, or Spain and make it a naval campaign and make the USA and France and Britain at war and Spain neutral and make it take place in the 13 colonies, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, Canada and the Atlantic Ocean. For American generals put John Adams, Benjamin stoddert,Thomas truxtun,Silas Talbot,William bainbridge and Stephen Decatur and same French,British and Spanish generals and the goal is to capture 10 vps and push the British and French back to sea the vps are New York,Philadelphia,Washington dc,,Boston, new port and the French own savanna and Charleston and the British own St Augustine,Quebec and Montreal.

My favorite strategy game

This is hands down my favorite of the games you’ve created and out of any strategy games on here. I never get to play games from this era and it’s such an amazing time period. I love how you used actual Native American leaders and how you must have a General leading each new army you create. My only wish is that there were a few more campaigns(which I would happily pay for) like the American Revolution, the War of 1812(this being as far as I’d like to travel this timeline), or another Native American campaign. There’s a few bugs but nothing game breaking. Keep up the good work, I bought all of your games but this one is my go to.

Amazing game

Dear Mr Gregory I love both of your amazing games and cannot begin to think how long I have spent on each and I greatly appreciate all the work you have put in. But today I am writing a review over a question as whenever I play English in either French and Indian War scenario it always starts in the middle of turn 1 with me getting attacked with no time to plan and build troops and infrastructure. I am not sure if it is a glitch or a new mechanic as I don’t remember it happening several months ago. Hopefully this gets fixed and I wish you luck in your creation of more games I can’t even begin to imagine what’s next, maybe even a colonize Africa game or something of that sort. Best wishes James.

Not perfect, but still amazing

I love this game. This is one of the few games that I have kept on playing for over a week after download. I love how flexible it is, and there are enough scenarios to keep you entertained for a while, although more wouldn’t hurt. ;) there are a few annoying bugs, like the game skipping your turn sometimes, but if you leave and return to TheFrenchandIndianWar before their second turn is over then that usually fixes it. But other than that, there aren’t many bugs to speak of, and it’s a very entertaining and strategic game, especially in the higher difficulties. Overall this game is one of my favorites, if not my favorite right now. I cannot recommend this game highly enough if you have any interest in American history and/or strategy games in general. Amazing game.

Best game on iPhone

Is a great game has a lot of cool features you would only get on pc. it’s great but there is a couple issues with balance when you start you villages around you and som times they have 1200 troops and you can’t take it that early in the game so I go around them but when you have allies the come thew your lands and take that from you and when they start attacking you if you don’t give them gifts then you have causing havoc in you back lines if you could make it we’re they have to ask to pass thew your land and ad a few more things to diplomacy it would be great. One other thing is money balance you could have a lot of money by turn 50 if you do your economy right but the ai has way more money and troops then you if could fix it would be great.

My opinions definitely changed

A while ago I wrote a decently bad review of this game, and 1 I’ve learned some things that make it more fun, and 2, my review didn’t give the game and its devs enough credit. Anyways, I want to just say, this. game. is. amazing. The sort of city building, multi managing, and strategy are just mixed together for some amazing gameplay. Another thing is the obscene amount of detail, like when you recruit more soldiers, and your money received per turn goes down due to your soldiers wages that you have to pay, or the AWESOME amount of structures that can be built. All in all, this game is amazing and anyone who gas decent amounts of patience and good strategies, I would definitely recommend this game to you. Sorry for the bad review devs, and I hope to see more games and updates in the future.

Great game

The pricing system is on point, you can actually play this game enjoyably without having to pay any money. In terms of actually playability, I think this might be one of the best games on TheFrenchandIndianWar Store, even better than easytech. The game’s unique diplomacy system makes it possible for the player to play both historically, or creatively by making peace with traditional enemies. But most of all I like the military system. Other games for the most part only allow each unit to contain one type of troop, so you’d get entire armies of only artillery or only tanks, making it unrealistic. So I thought this game made a huge improvement on that. It could use some more maps but I look forward to downloading the “Colonies of War” game that I heard was in development. Hopefully it includes a lot of the Asian nations like China, Korea and Japan that aren’t covered in many video games covering the era of imperialism.

Best Game Ever

I love this game so much. It is simple to learn yet hard to master and has so many good mechanics. Normally i hate stuff like the crowns cause it is so unbalanced and pricey. But with being able to watch a video for a hundred crowns and the only thing the crowns being used for is the professional armies in Europe for a reasonable price is perfect.

My only complaint is that there is not nearly enough content here. Within the first 3 days of getting this game I am already completing most of the campaigns. And am starting to work on the other side to get through them. I would loovvvee to either see a European theater companion app or expansion in this one. Also you could extend this to the American revolution and beyond. But you do whatever you think is best needed and fitting for this game. Because you obviously have a great mind for this stuff.

Anyways thank you for the amazing game. I hope to see something else soon

Multiple 5 Star reviews

I’ve left this game multiple 5 star reviews. Not because I’m autistic, but because this game is truly a masterpiece.

Firstly, the AI is incredibly engaging, fun, and unpredictable.

Secondly, the resource system, economy building, and diplomacy/trading mechanics are simple to manage yet complex in nature. There’s lots of different long term strategies to adopt, or you can just simply take it turn by turn and enjoy.

There’s not a single game on TheFrenchandIndianWar Store (including the other titles by this author) that can hold a flame to this game. If you’d ask me to make some suggestions on improvements, I could truthfully tell you that I can’t think of a single one.

Please, I’m begging you, make a Civil War era title for the next game in your franchise. I know that you added a civil war scenario in the ‘Colonies at War’ game, but it was with the simplified gameplay that Colonies at War was known for. If you can make a civil war era game using this game’s mechanics and map, it would truly be a first class masterpiece like this title is.

Just a humble suggestion from a long time player, I know this game is way older than 4 years old. I’ve been playing it from the start. I’ve played every title that you’ve made.

Even if you don’t listen to my suggestion, I will forever be grateful for this game, and the fact that you dropped a major update featuring the American Revolution. What an absolute masterpiece.

Great Game

I first found out about this game because of Colonies at War. I loved that game I beat every campaign from easy to hard and I wanted to try out this game. At first i had trouble adjusting to the mechanics, but then I figured it out. I still haven’t beat a single campaign even out the easiest difficultly, but I still love this game regardless. I would definitely recommend this game to other people that love strategic war games.
