Block Puzzle - Brain Test Game Reviews

This game is so much fun and so addicting that I literally imagine shapes fitting into everyday spots (in my real life). It’s so fun and the great thing is, it’s not timed and provides for a relaxing but brain-building activity.

In my addiction to Block Puzzle and extensive hours playing the game, I’ve come to want to beat my high score each time. However, the problem with this is that the game KNOWS I’m getting close and intentionally gives me pieces that may fit in my puzzle, but will not clear the way for the “gray” pieces that “won’t fit.” It’s quite infuriating as one time I was 20 points away from beating my high score (at the time, 2819, but it is currently 3140) but physically unable to destroy any more blocks. I know one of the “helpful tips” is to “always leave room for more blocks” (Block Puzzle, 2021), but this is not always a possibility, or I was working on a bigger block to gain more points.

Thus, I’d really like to see an update in which the game doesn’t stop the player from beating their high score. Also, I personally find the ads a bit obnoxious, so I’d love an option to buy an ad-free version of the game. It would be a perfect opportunity to use my iTunes credit lol.

Love this game. I love the organizing, the risk taking to get higher points, and especially the way it holds your place when you need to close it so you don’t have to start over when you come back to the game. BUT, the ads annoying. A forced 5sec ad before the game, a forced 5sec ad after the game… the same ad 4 or 5 times in a row… even more annoying, it shuts down in the middle of the game and takes you to safari, then to BlockPuzzle Store to purchase other games.
I get ads make money, but enough is enough.

The glitches are also a problem. The game closes when loading and sometimes when I close out an ad, and it freezes during play. The freezing causes the pieces to be dropped in the wrong place and can cost points or even worse, losing the entire game. I don’t know how to fix this. I’ve tried both closing the game and reloading it, and completely deleting BlockPuzzle to reinstall it several times. It just keeps happening and seems to be getting worse.
Love the game, but I’ve given up on it and deleted it from my phone. Between the ads and glitches, I’m done. I would’ve been happy to pay for a low or no ads version this game.

First of all. The game play itself is fantastic. I can close BlockPuzzle mid-game and pick up whether you left off next time you open BlockPuzzle . You can turn off sounds and music. All good things. I have no complaints about thr game itself..and my only complaints may have nothing to do with BlockPuzzle nor the developers so I'm not "taking away stars" for something that has nothing to do with the game.

As much as I love BlockPuzzle I can no longer play in bed or certain situations as the ads are so crazy loud regardless of game settings. I cannot turn the volume down as I need not fall asleep with the volume down lest I miss my morning alarm. If I play while listening to something else on my Bluetooth the add will interrupt that so the BT does not negate the loudbad issue per si..but at least it won't jolt my dude from his sleep while I play next to him. Also. Some of the ads are impossible to close thus opening the ad in a window. Just really annoying. It would be cool to have an ad free version..I'm all for supporting developers when it's within reason.

I love blocks and get addicted to hours of trying to beat my own high score. Only thing I would like the developers to know is when writing games a suggestion is please stop the noisy ads I can handle adds if I have to but when I am in a doctors office or waiting in an office etc I am trying to play discreetly and last thing I want is a loud commercial blaring all over the office I appreciate the mute button but still yet takes time to get it muted by then the whole office is glaring at you. So please no sound ads is much better to play discretely. Thank you otherwise great game

I love the game itself but the ads are so annoying! Sometimes I just play other games just because I hate the ads so much. If I have the sound off on my phone, there are some ads (PayPal) that the sound still comes on. I have to turn the volume all the way down because their ad is so loud.
If I’m listening to an audible book or listening to music, the ad will turn off whatever I’m listening to. When the ad is over, my book/music doesn’t come back on. I’m forced to restart my book/music, which then brings up another ad when I go back into the game. It’s a vicious cycle.
I get that the ads bring in money, but there is not even an option to pay for the game and turn off the ads. Please give us the option to turn off the ads.

This game is a lot of fun and it’s a really good way to pass time and keep your mind occupied or calm down. It’s a perfect ‘in between’ game but the ads are very annoying and pop up every single time you lose. If you’re listening to music on your phone at the same time they’re going to pause your music every single time they pop up even if you have your phone on silent. I would pay legitimate money to have this game with no ads. I would play this game much more if there weren't ads or if there was a way to get rid of them to be honest

I love this game and find myself playing it in any free time I have. I have 4 stars because the game freezes occasionally causing the blocks to go where you didn’t want and the game freezes when trying to open and BlockPuzzle will completely shut down. I have closed the game out and I have deleted and reinstalled the game. Works for a few days snd then it starts the issues again. I’ve been checking for updates, but don’t see any. Love the game when it works though!

The is the best and most relaxing video game. We don't even mind the ads. We gave it a 3 because the more you play the more often you get dealt a group of blocks to olace that have ZERO chance of working out - so you never get back to anywhere near an original high score AND with ads between each game it is like a machine creating ads time in fast succession. We are watching oennies so we watch ads (and enjoy ads) except when there is more ad than game. In the end, we figure this for a strategy to make paying for BlockPuzzle or payments from ads create a profit - at the loss of enjoyment for users who are poor thx to a lockdown. So enjoy the first games and then plan to pay alot either way.

So here how this works. You believe the parts randomly, and you fit those to the best of your ability. Then all of a sudden, you are staring at 2 shapes that already say they won’t work, and one shape that will not clear enough to make room. This means, it’s time for an advertisement. It’s how they make their money.
If you’re on one of those magical sprints, it actually means, you have seen enough advertisements that you can play for a bit. It is a tactic that has been used for a long time. I just wish they were honest about their game play. For instance, “we had you in an ad loop, we have made enough off of you, you can play for a while now…and no, we are not fixing the sound issue.

Seems like the computer will give you only three shapes, but… honestly i think one shape will not fit the puzzle no matter what you do. If only BlockPuzzle will actually show you the jigsaw that you needed to put together to solve that one grey piece after you loose then it will be a different story, other then that there’s really no way to validate the fact that you were unable to solve the puzzle..highest score i’ve gotten is 2,710. I want to keep going but without the computer showing what you did wrong then there’s no way to validate your loss.. :/ basically it’s all LUCK as opposed to actually solving a PUZZLE.

I love this game. I’ve played it a thousand hours over the past year and have recommended it to others. However over the past few months, something has changed with the ads being run. Before when my phone was set to silent or vibrate, the ads were muted. Now, even with the phone on vibrate, the ads play at full volume. There is no way to mute these ads, and half the time I can’t click the X to close the ad without opening the ad link. So, no more playing BlockPuzzle in bed, or with others in the room, or during a meeting or whatever because of the ads that blast music out of nowhere. It’s so obnoxious and sad because I miss the game. I wish the developers would fix this issue.

I love this game, it saves where you left off, it’d addicting… however I’d be willing to pay that $2-$4 charge for an ad free experience. I personally hate the ads & I know that’s how the developer gets consistent money but where is the option for that??? It’s ridiculous. I usually have to go offline so I don’t get these annoying ads that redirect my browser to another website or something. If the developer reads this, fix it please. A lot of the reviews have the same complaint. Such a shame you don’t provide that option.

This was a great go-to game for me for years. At first there were occasional ads which was fine. That morphed into a single ad at opening of BlockPuzzle ; not great but understandable. Then came a single ad at every game; which i didn't enjoy but would tolerate- a developer is allowed to make a profit from their creation.
But c’mon now. Persistent, multiple looping ads both at open and in-game which will not close until a random number of multiple attempts have been made? It’s almost as if the game has been hijacked by malware—has it? If yes, someone is not paying attention. If not, this decision has ruined a once enjoyable app. In either case, it’s about to be deleted from my device.

Wish there was a way to turn the shapes around! Also wish there was an initial “How to” before the game started. Took a bit for me to mostly understand the basic principles but sometimes the “wins” and how much gets taken out isn’t consistent and clear. I am still enjoying it and it’s close to a week of downloading it. It appears the total is never added in. Only your top win stays until you top that. Small annoyance but still enjoy this brain break a lot. Pretty good and very different kind of game to play. Refreshing for this ingenuity. Thumbs up.

It was November 7th, 2021 when my eyes glanced upon an ad for “Block Puzzle” I was so excited and immediately went to download it. As soon as it finished downloading I opened it; however, I was immediately disappointed. The ad which the game presented to me displayed various peculiarly shapes that had different point values when put into a gird that was in a circle. I played the game for a couple minutes, hoping I would be able to unlock this circle level I was promised, but yet I didn’t find any way to access it. I have to complain about the ads on this game as well: I got an ad for a game that had the exact same “gameplay”, if you can even call it that, except the one advertised had a wooden block aesthetic. Thank you.

I really enjoy this game, however I have noticed, after playing for months, that certain shapes only pop up in the same orientation, over and over again, and never in other orientations. (I even reloaded it, thinking I had an old version, hoping it had been fixed.)

Ironically, some of the orientations I have never seen show up in the demo, and one is even in the game logo on my Home Screen.

I still play it, though, and enjoy it.

Like others have said you can’t rotate the blocks but that’s just part of the challenge to the game. It isn’t tetras but uses similar block configurations. You get more variety the higher your score gets. The ads weren’t bad when I started playing but they have progressively gotten more frequent and sometimes have caused me to make mistakes when they pop up in the middle of a game when I’m trying to do something. If they could keep the ads to between games that would be a lot better.

Please fix the ads in this game. It’s not a game that has annoying ads … they are annoying… but every time you get interrupted to answer a call or text, stop for a second and your phone shuts off the ad comes up when you get back to it and on top of it, it’s always set with the volume on. I have the music/sounds shut off on the game and the ringer on my phone up so I can hear it. I just want to play the game quietly and not disturb anyone else. And then the stupid ads at full volume squawks at you. SYMILISAN or HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE MOST EXCITING GAME (that ad is AAAnoying!)… please. Fix. It. No other game with ads does that.

The game itself is great. Super addicting and easy to play. But the ads are ridiculous. I don’t mind an ad here and there but there’s so many and sometimes even when the “close” or the “x” button becomes available the click out of it, it won’t let me. I’ve been trying to play the game for an hour now but it keeps making me watch an ad before playing (even if I completely exit out of BlockPuzzle and restart my phone) and the “close” button won’t work. It’s super frustrating. I’d pay money to have an ad free version. This is ridiculous

When I first downloaded the game, it was a blast. Started off easy and difficulty ramped up. Certain pieces are know to create challenges, while some are great at filling things in. As you increased points (usually about every 1,000) points, new pieces would be introduced and the difficulty would increase. My high score was something in the low 4,000’s

About a week ago, I logged on and it started up as if I just downloaded it (my high score was gone). The difficulty is flat out stupid now. You will get 3-5 sets (of three pieces to place) that are all 4-9 blocks and the challenging shapes. The difficulty right out the game is such that you will be lucky to reach 1,000 (and will find yourself losing with less than 200 points).

Given that this is a free game, their revenue is made from ads. The only explanation I can come up with such a dramatic change to the mechanics is to make the games shorter, allowing more ad revenue.

In short, what was a great game is now a game that is fun for 20-30 minutes. Sadly, they made it a husk of what it used to be.

best puzzle in the entire app store. i have never played a more entertaining game. when i’m sad, i play this game. when i’m tired i play this game. when i’m excited i play this game. i play this game every single day 24/7. i have never seen a game more entertaining. if i could rate this on a scale of 1 thru 10(1 being the worse, 10 being Leonardo dicaprio) i would rate it a 20. thank you for your services.

This isn’t a version of the classic game that lets you rotate pieces OR times you (with falling pieces that fall faster until you can no longer keep up). You just play & clear until a piece has nowhere to go. I’m not sure if you get “harder pieces” (to place) as your score climbs or they’re completely random, but it does SEEM to get more difficult. This version is fun, and the ad rate IS reasonable (which is refreshing and my main reason for 4 stars instead of 3), but I prefer the classic game.

I don’t often write reviews for mobile games but I felt I had to for this one. This is the perfect mobile game. It is extremely addicting (one if the most addictive I’ve played) and a super well-made game. It
Isn’t filled with bells and whistle‘s because it does it need it. It’s well made and really fun! I must add that I have been playing without Internet so I’m not sure how the ad situation is.

Overall this game is easy to pick up and very easy to get addicted to. Very few ads which is a plus. Some of the pieces seem to be missing and at times it feels like it sets you up for failure though. I’ve never seen a downward pointing T and rarely if ever do you get a left or right T. The large L shapes almost always facedown and to the left. If they did exist it may be more challenging and even more rewarding and may earn a 5* rating

I do like the game. It’s fun and I appreciate having it. But I’d like to for once be told the truth about getting to a pay day with it. I no longer believe these games pay so I just play it because I like the game. I do do without the expectation that these developers are being honest about paying to play. After awhile I get bored and delete them all to find new fun games.

I don’t rate or review these games until I see a payday. I don’t like how they ask for reviews/ratings before you’ve completed the entire experience including getting paid in PayPal. When I see that then I’ll come write a nice review with 5 stars.
