I have been a loyal Sword and Scale listener for three years. It was the first podcast that made me fall in love with true crime podcasts and I have been a Plus member for years now. It is the only podcast I pay a monthly fee for, and I used to do it gladly. This used to be the best true crime podcast on Apple Podcast.
Unfortunately, I am going to have to cancel my membership and I have started telling everyone I know (who I used to recommend/show Sword and Scale to, by the way) that Mike Boudet is ruining the podcast completely. His arrogant, racist, homophobic, misogynistic ideologies are seeping through every single episode. It's like hes specificially choosing certain cases so that he has an excuse to bash people who are younger than the "Boomer Generation," as well as his expressed hatred towards women, the gay community, and essentially any sort of human rights issue.
The last episode, epsiode 234, Mike went on to say that "you should never trust something that bleeds for a week straight and doesn't die," referring to how untrustworthy women apparently are. He has repeatedly obsessed over how horribly men have it in today's society, that women should be punished more harshly by the judicial system, how women just scream "rape" about nothing to ruin men's lives, and that groups like the Me Too movement and BLM are nothing but a bunch of crying babies.
I am sick of his right wing rhetoric. I am sick of him insulting young adults. I hope to god that his awful ideologies are not what Sword and Scale considers to be its values. I would hate to cancel what used to be my all time favorite podcast, but if the executives don't do something about Mike Boudet, I will never give Sword and Scale another cent, nor will I EVER say another good thing about this podcast to a soul.
Thanks for ruining one of the few good things left in this world, Michael.
