What is Soli?
SafeUP is a personal safety app that provides real-time support to women and girls through periodic check-ins, audio and video calls, and face-to-face assistance. The app is active in 38 countries and has over 150k members worldwide. SafeUP offers a range of features to help women feel safe and confident wherever they go, including Guardian Calls, Safety Checks, Community Chat, Safe Zone, and Guardian Training.
- Guardian Calls: Connect with nearby trained women in real-time through an audio or video call, and face to face.
- Safety Checks: Activate periodic check-ins and have the SafeUP community looking out for you every step of the way.
- Community Chat: Share your experience and chat with your local community, ask for tips, receive support, and make new friends with our secure group chat.
- Safe Zone: See all trained guardians available in your area and feel empowered by all women around you vouching to help.
- Guardian Training: Learn how to evaluate various situations through our in-app training preparing any woman (18+) to become a Guardian. Join 2-3 women in a call to accompany and support women and girls from your community.
- Customizable Safety Checks: Safety Checks are customizable (5, 15, 30 min) periodic check-ins, use them in any situation to receive local support in real-time and stay connected until you feel safer.
- Call Guardians: Tap ‘’Call Guardians” to alert 2-3 women in your area if you need a little extra support.
- Text Customer Support: Text our amazing CS team and stay connected until you feel safe.
- Empowerment: Women can become a Guardian to answer calls and empower other women. Get started with a brief in-app training to provide local support.

I was excited to discover this because I think it’s a great idea & wanted to know more about it. But I ran into a glitch within the first 5 seconds! Can’t even go past that screen. I entered my info, got to the profile photo part, it automatically took me to the access settings where I allowed access to camera and photos and then switched back to Soli — it started from scratch, asking for my number again. I went through the process again. Even though I’d already given access, it took me to the settings this time too. It restarted yet again so I gave up.

Being at a large college campus that requires me to sometimes walk at night can be rather scary and concerning at times. Soli helps provide comfort and security and ensures that girls just like me are able to safely cross campus! I'm so grateful to have Soli.

Soli is simple to use and very effective. I love that once you have the location on it actually just tracks you (with permission,) guaranteeing your safety everywhere.

After I entered my US phone number I hit accept and continue and it wouldn’t let me continue. I hit the link to the terms and conditions...read went back and it still wouldn’t let me. Un download and re downloaded only for it to have the same outcome.
