I read all the reviews about how wonderful ReverseLookup was, and since it was free I thought I’d put it on my phone, and see if I could determine who was making calls to me.
First, just as a lark, I thought I’d run my and my wife’s cell numbers, as well as our land line. My cell was fine. My wife’s cell number, which she’s had for well over 10-years, and it came up with the name of a woman neither of us know! Our landline showed my wife’s name, but our account has always been in my name.
Of the calls that I’ve received and checked, I’ve gotten no information beyond what showed on my price caller ID. However, down in the lower right corner is a button taking you to Spokeo, where, for $0.95 they will provide more information. After the single $0.95, you will be signed up for a month, of recurring charge.
ReverseLookup may be free, but it’s not even worth that price!
Additional review: Tbis is the absolutely most fraudulent App on the Apple App Store. It’ll look up a number, not give you the information, and then redirect you to a pay site. I don’t understand how all these people rate it so high. It DOES NOT do what it says it does. So far as I’m concerned, that’s a fraud, and Apple should remove it from its App Store.
