Dark Days: Zombie Survival Reviews

The game is great and has lots of potential. It makes me sad to give it just 3 stars. I found myself happily playing it for hours, collecting things to craft weapons and items. The behind the player FPS handling is easy and intuitive!

However... The game starts off like it might have a fun storyline but then it just disappears and you’re left to collecting and crafting things with no real point. Also some of the essential items are insanely hard to find or craft like the crowbar (Don’t waste the crowbar on fighting!) sharpening stone or bricks for example. Items wear out so fast, it would be nice if you could combine items to “repair” them, rather than having to carry around two of them. Also upon raiding difficult areas where you nearly die and break into the final main treasure chest you find amazing things you’d love to use, but they are worn out to the point of just falling apart immediately. Super disappointing when you’ve spent all your food and water and nearly died many times for a bunch of junk.

Add a storyline, repair feature and make raiding have an actual payoff then I would love to give this game 5 stars and a rave review. I can’t see myself playing again until an update.

I have played more than a few “survival” games and there is always something to dislike, but with this one the biggest I have found so far is that carrying capacity is too low when trying to build resources early in the game. This in and of itself wouldn’t be too much of a problem if you can make multiple trips too and from an area after you have cleared it of all the dangers and before it resets. I have seen this vary depending on the danger level of the area from 30mins on the low end and 12hrs for the more difficult areas with stronger enemies. It would require using extra “run” or “fuel” points to make multiple trips, but that is better than having to do that plus use up the supplies, health, and time as well as those same travel boosts. The second big complaint I have is the major jump in enemy difficulty from green level areas to orange level, but I think being able to gather resources better would make that more manageable. And third, the rate of burning through food and drink is way too high when working around the base camp. But again, being able to better gather resources would probably make that much more manageable as well.

So I was playing the game as usual, and I noticed that there was an option to get a “random item” if you watched an ad, and I looked at the loot table, thought it was a good idea, and continued. The first item was crude oil, which wasn’t surprising- it was my first draw, after all. But as I continued to get items, I noticed that I would only get common items, even after multiple attempts. Intrigued, I decided to calculate the probability of getting common, rare, epic, and legendary items, and I found that rare and legendary (blue and purple) items had a 20% chance of being selected. This means that for every 5 draws, you should get one of these items, but I have watched that horrid ad more than 30 times and only got common items- worse, crude oil is a white item, which means it only has a 9% chance of being selected, but it has been the most common item I’ve gotten, which means that certain items are rigged to be given to you, which completely nullifies the quote-unquote “random chance”. I understand that you don’t want players to blast through the game, but PLEASE change this if you actually want to have some semblance of fairness.

The way the game is made allows there to be more skill involved with fighting enemies unlike other games of this type that force you to stand there while you swing or shoot so you automatically take damage and degrade your gear.

The only thing I see the game is missing currently is a well put together and meaningful perk system as well as the option to repair gear. Everything else seems okay but I believe those are 2 things this game needs to be able to start to be better than other similar games. But overall the game seems good so far with a lot of potential of the Developers keep up with making content and trying to improve the game for the long term.

Some other potentially cool ideas that could support the game- Create cool skins that are mostly bought with real money or gold and allow players to unlock a select amount of cool skins that the players can just equipped at any time.

This game has a refreshing new concept and point of view to the original LDOE(last day on earth) type of survivals. I’m liking the story so far and it keeps you interested. The loot isn’t that hard to find and neither are the weapons or buildings extremely hard to make or upgrade. I also like how the gold upgrades for buildings/machines aren’t just so super good that it makes people have to buy to good so this is definitely one of the better F2P(free to play) zombie survival games. My only question is can I link my account and move my progress to another device. I’m getting a new phone and I really want to move my progress over. There probably is a way already and I could just be over looking it.

reasons as to giving this game a 5 star is mainly due to a new taste to mobile survival, first person. i’ve played ldoe and all its replicas but i’ve been waiting on this one to come out for ios thankfully. as to the game i can tell it’s fresh released and it’s packed with enough content. all it’s missing is a unofficial discord where the community can grow. also please consider updating the game frequently this game has the chance to build quite the player base. please also consider a tutorial or help guide throughout the game itself objectives to work towards. as of now i feel like you get to a certain point and it’s for you to choose what your next task is. little repetitive for me going to and from zones farming the same things.

Ok to be honest I thought this game was gonna be a bust, but it was very good! The only thing I would recommend, is make sure to conserve your bullets in the robot you can get inside of, sorry I forgot what it’s called. But I say conserve them because I’m pretty sure you can’t buy bullets the only way to get them is for the game to give them to you, but idk. At the beginning it took some time to get used to, but afterwards it was very fun!! Anyways I enjoyed this game a lot and definitely recommend it to anyone!!!😽👏🏻

Game is frozen in map. Game character can’t go to any location. It happened during last trip when I was disrupted while playing the game. Exited out of location and I sent him back to base. when I came back into DarkDays the energy bar for the trips was like -974 and it won’t let me do anything. I used up all my gold and watched all the freakin adds and finally got it back positive and guess what... still can’t go to any location 🤦🏾‍♂️ cool game though. I’m conflicted on what to rate the game due to the malfunction. I give the game five stars but I can’t play a frozen game so 0 stars for now. I tried the website thing to get support but it goes straight to the gmail app but I can’t use that now because my iCloud is glitching as well🤦🏾‍♂️ I’m trying to reset the game to beginning but it won’t do that as well. Again cool game but I can’t play a frozen game

When you look at the game in DarkDays Store it cites that the developer hasn’t yet provided privacy details. That’s probably because they don’t want to.
Once you install the game and open it the first time you are immediately forced to agree to their privacy policy which, if you read it is pretty bad and you can’t play the game unless you agree.
So, DELETE.
Devs.. people are tired of being forced to create accounts, give their emails or SM info, and agree to a privacy policy just to play a game. When you are competing with hundreds of other developers who are making very similar games you might want to rethink the “stop! before you play our game you must agree to let us have WAY too much information and access to your device.”
Too bad, the game looked pretty great.

Game seems like it has a lot of potential. I prefer this type of game over something like Life After where you need to invest tons of hours to stay competitive.

The animations could use some more work. Sometimes hitting enemies glitches, but I like that there are ways to avoid some zombie attacks.

The style of the graphics is unique, but I also think there’s room for improvement.

I also wish there was more of a community for this game. Would be great if there were reddit and discord groups.

Of course multiplayer would be great for this type of game but also a lot to ask up front.

I really hope they continue making improvements because this game could easily take off. There’s some stuff that makes it feel a bit clunky though.

I also think sneaking is way too slow to be worth doing. It takes a decent amount of time to clear zones and this will add more time.

If they can add some more dynamic games modes like base defense then that will also take the game up a level.

As I started playing I instantly loved the game, but I had some issues I still have today

• Repairs!
One thing I’d love to see in the game is the option to repair gear using materials used to create said gear, depending on how much durability it has shows to how many materials are needed. Though I don’t have any idea on how to make it worthwhile for beginning players.

• Fortifying and Defense
I’ve seen the idea come up in reviews and I’d also like to see it in game, allowing players to prevent raids on their homes using blockades like spikes would really help a whole lot.

• Melee combat
Something that is a tick that annoys me in the game is melee combat, since its not bad when you attack, but sometimes zombies get a good hit on you when your far away from their attacks. Fixing it can be great and make melee a little bit more viable compared to guns

Other than those three I really enjoy the game and it is addicting, though the idea of multiplayer is something I personally wouldn’t want, yet I know others would.

I’ve put quite a lot of hours into this game and have a giant base with lots of gear and such. However, there is very little to do besides visit the same couple of locations repeatedly. Once you can effectively clear all of the locations, there is not much left to progress for. The only thing I haven’t done is upgrade the mech to it’s new form, so I can’t visit one zone.

Outside of this, there is no story of any kind. You meet one NPC when you first start, but never again. The map looks to be expandable, but I have found no way to do so. Thus, the game is stagnant. It’s a solid foundation for a world with lots of potential if the devs simply add some lore and more to do.

I got this game a while ago and have been loving every part of it. However there was a problem with the game and all of my purchases and progress has been deleted...I tried to contact the support and everything multiple times through email and have all the receipts for the game but never heard from them. Now I’m not trying to get my money back I’m just trying to get my account I was using back or if I can’t do that at least have the new account I’m using to get what I purchased on it....I feel like I was cheated after spending money on it and then having my account disappear and having to start a new one....of the publisher can contact me that would be great because I’ve been waiting for weeks

First off I saw this i was like “just another The Last Day On Earth Rip-off” btw I DO NOT recommend last day on earth so I downloaded the game and I played and I was like holy moly this game is forgiving like the energy to move at the start I was like “AAAA why does every game have an energy based move thing and it’s probably gonna have to take forever to recharge” but no! After going into a place you have energy to go back I mean like THAT IS SO HELPFUL when I played this game I was like “this game is forgiving” and it’s fun to I highly recommend this game

I love the game they take a zombie game from the console and graphics from mobile and you combine them to make this game which mobile games that I played are not 3d based and more likely like god watching people and which I love also along with actual 3d combat in which mobile zombie games made it difficult to survive the crafting is advanced and different but it’s still good and it is not losing a star anyone who reads the reviews try this and you would love it

I’ve been playing this game for a while now. However, after I traveled from the forest and was going back home, for some reason my every got down to negative 387. I left it to recharge because I couldn’t travel back home and there was the travel time that showed how long it would take for me to go back home. After my energy recharged back to 100 though, I’m still stuck traveling, not moving and the time keeps restarting and I can’t play the game. I tried deleting the game and trying again but my progress is saved and I can’t delete it. I need help please. It’s urgent.

This game is Made really well and the graphics are Great and this game is a awesome Game And really Amazing And I give it 100 STARS and I don’t care if that doesn’t exist. Oh also you guys or just you idk should make more games like this .it’s almost like Ldoe and Jurassic survival And other RPG games so ,Like I said This Game Is Really Awesome!!!!!⚠️⚠️⚠️ One more thing Start making Updates like seasons!And I try to find games like this because I’m like a doomsday prepper person And love games like this!

I had to spend 400 gold to get wood and rocks so that i could make another stone axe because when i went to break a wall at an enemy’s base it made me break a wall inside the base instead, trapping me. Just totally clipped through the outside wall. My axe broke on the first hit since i didn't know it was that fragile. Luckily i haven’t put any money into a game that obviously isn’t ready for it. Most people would be like “why would you complain about an exploit?”. Well zombies would clip through without issue so they feasted on me while i was trying to figure out how to get out. And since 8 of them were keeping me from being able to hit the wall i died. So 400 gold wasted and i got nothing from the base.

This game has so much potential . I’ve played many games on DarkDays Store but this game can’t compare to the others . But this is first actual review I choose to make for this , that’s how good the game is . I can’t wait to see what kind of updates come to this game. But hopefully the developer can fix the crashing on my iPhone 6s Plus and causes me to loose the loot I just looted mid game. But so far great work and good luck guys . Best of luck 🤘🤘🤘

I was suckered into this game by an ad I saw and I was excited to give it a go. However, when I tried to open the game it won’t let me play it. The reason? I “don’t have in app purchases turned on.” As a rule of thumb I always start new games off with in app purchases turned off to protect myself and only turn it on when I want to make a purchase. I have never seen this pop up before a game starts, in fact, the only time I have seen this pop up is when I have accidentally tried to make a purchase in an app (which makes me wonder if Dark Days was trying to charge me for something). I will gladly revise this review should the problem be fixed.
