Device Detector: Wifi Analyzer Reviews

I would love to be able to say that I have a review on the overall functionality of DeviceDetector, but, unfortunately, any time you do *LITERALLY ANYTHING AT ALL*, there is a stupid pop up ad that you have to click through.
Want to open the menu? Pop up. Want to use a function? Pop up. Want to see the results of the function? Pop up. And guess what? Once you get to through the ad to get to the results, you go to click on the result and yup- pop up. I had to click out of THREE ads just to even contact the developer. Which is ironic as can be, because there was a POP UP asking for feedback. When you click on it, POP UP AD. Close the ad, go to click to reply, POP UP. Click out of the ad and finally; no, just kidding. There’s another pop up.

I will be deleting DeviceDetector with extreme prejudice. I’ve never been more annoyed and frustrated by any other app in my life.

It’s dumb to press a button and an ad shows up fir every action. Otherwise it does detect what is on.

The ads are annoying to force a 5 star review.

It would be awesome if it could do what is stated it is for?
Hidden Camera? It can’t even recognize a Camera right in front of it! So to the one person that mentions buying a “hidden camera” I don’t think they market cameras as “Hidden” !
So that person wants to buy a “hidden camera” then wants to hide it? Then see if DeviceDetector works? Ridiculous when you find that “hidden camera” please feel free to share where you
bought that, please.
Try a on hidden camera right in front of your device, it can’t find it! Hilarious

It seems like a good app, but it’s confusing! I have no idea what I’m supposed to do! It’s scans and I click something hopefully I will figure out how to do it, but NO it CONFUSES me AGAIN 😒😡😤you can get DeviceDetector, but you won’t know what to do!! I’m just telling you... there are better apps out there!

Please fix this by adding a button that says, how to play.

All of these positive reviews for DeviceDetector have to be fake, because DeviceDetector doesn’t actually scan anything and puts fake devices on the “Scanner” that aren’t even there. AND WORST OF ALL, *literally* EVERY SINGLE TIME that you click on something in DeviceDetector , you have to watch a 30 second ad, and after watching the ad you realize that the button didn’t do anything

If you’re connected to a WiFi network that allows scanning, it might show a possible camera but it doesn’t tell you exactly where or if it’s actually spying on you. Certainly not the most likely scenario for nefarious spying and given it’s full of pop-up ads, it’s more of a gimmick that you’ll likely remove or forget about.

I installed it and it did detect something. But when I clicked the items for getting more information such the location, it showed me an advertisement. I refused to click the ad and it didn’t allow to do anything more. Repeated this again and found no way to get any useful information about hidden camera. The only thing I got was all kind of different ads.

Very very bad app. Porn videos of worn dancing. The only reason I am putting 5 stars is that it wont let me send one star!!! Totally porn app

It will show a count of the devices on your network and the associated ip address. No further details. No mac address, manufacturer, etc. If you click on a device for info, after fighting pop-up ads, it tells you no info available. Worthless. Deleted. I can get more info from the admin screen on my router. Actually found an app called WiFiman that is way more useful.

I’m not sure that it works bc i haven’t found any hidden camera but that could be that there is no hidden cameras maybe someone should buy a hidden camera and then try it out

This could be a 5 star app, I gave it a 1 star because of missing information in the description. I downloaded DeviceDetector and it won't work. Apparently you must have Wi-Fi in your home or wherever you are to find the wireless devices with DeviceDetector. I have no need for Wi-Fi at home, so it would be nice to know that Wi-Fi is needed to run DeviceDetector before I download it.

Every function you try ends up with a full screen ad that just irritates the crap out of you! There’s not even a function to just pay not to see them!!! I can’t use it enough to rate its abilities because I can’t use it long enough to get by all the advertisements! Waste of time.

Scans network, then displays a 30 second ad for every single item you click on after that, rendering it completely unusable. No idea if it even works, it appears to simply be a vehicle for the developer to make a few cents from ad views before people inevitably delete it. So sad that humanity has come to this.

Tried to scan, would load the scanner and tell me all the devices that were scanned but nothing about them.

Infrared photo doesnt work at all, just another app wanting access to my camera, it takes a normal picture, shows you the picture within DeviceDetector and says “look for suspicious red dot”

DeviceDetector is good, but doesn’t give specific results on the location of the devices being scanned. Could be more useful if it could do this.

I appreciate the work you do. But if you or if there was a way to pin point the location. To where I could rate you higher. Bc honestly I rate you a 3 1/2

Yes it did search my home network and it found A couple of the cameras that I have.
DeviceDetector also found my DIRECTV box (possible camera ) and it found and could tell the difference between my iPhone and iPad.
EVERY TIME YOU MAKE A SELECTION FOR ANYTHING YOU FORCED TO WATCH A 20-30 SECOND AD. There is NO “X” out of the ad either.

I cannot believe Apple allowed this utter trash into DeviceDetector Store! OMG!!! Totally unusable!!! Every touch causes an ad to open!!! Been trying to use it for the last 10 mins and have gotten NOWHERE because of all the ads! 3.9K users rated it so high?! Really!?!? Did this company create 3.9K fake accounts and reviews?! MUST HAVE!!!

Be careful, you may have to see an ad before you read this review. This worked and found all the wireless devices in my home, detected the security camera and both webcams on 2 laptops. BUT, ad’s for every button pushed! Even the menu tab! Delete. Not keeping.

I always feel like, somebody’s watching me...I ain’t got no privacy...oooh, but after downloading DeviceDetector I feel relieved!!!

I know you can use your phones regular camera app (that’s preinstalled when you buy it), by using the back camera (selfie mode) to pick up the reflected light that broadcasts while in use. Try it with your remote control. While pressing the button you can’t see it with your eyes until you put on your back camera. I thought this might work with the front but it failed. Be careful of apps that request to use your camera.

#1 app to know we are safe from other devices to invade our privacy! I’ve already found 10 unwanted devices brought into our lives in disguise! Just wish I could set an alarm to notify me for new ones so I don’t have to check.

I downloaded DeviceDetector to see if I was being watched and I'm yep I am

This was the weirdest app ever. It really didn’t work. It didn’t even detect the obvious device like my AirPods. It was very confusing and all the apps prevented me from actually doing anything. Not great.
