NetSpot: WiFi Map & Speed Test Reviews

What a stupid app. I downloaded because they released an update that said didn’t require wipry, but all that doesn’t require it is the speed test which isn’t why I downloaded NetSpot in the first place. I wanted it to do what the this app desktop app does. Secondly to use wipry with the phone you have to attach it via usb dongle which completely defeats the purpose of having an app. Huge fail all the way around. Someone wasted a ton of money developing this.

this app is a great desktop device. However, to use the iOS version you have to connect to a desktop app called Wipry2500, which costs $649. Yes, you read it right. Ridiculous.
Deleted immediately. The thing that gets me was the perceived dishonesty. They could have been upfront about this. Such a shame as they have a nice little desktop app with this app.

“Get started by connecting WiPry 2500x via USB” is the message I first see after install.

Why bother with NetSpot when all you can see is speed test by clicking top right corner. There are better apps out there and provide better visuals and functionality than this one.

Don’t download NetSpot. The developer makes it seem like this will work without their expensive WiFi spectrum analyzer device but that’s a lie. You have to buy the WiFi spectrum analyzer otherwise you’re limited to only performing speed tests. There are better apps for speed tests. Stay away from this one.

With out the hardware device the only thing you can do with NetSpot is an Internet speed test, but in NetSpot description the developer says that NetSpot works without the device.
Recommend that they develop or update the description to properly describe what works out the hardware.

I read the other reviews but figured NetSpot would have functionality of some sort without the 649$ appliance. I was totally wrong. It prompts you to connect to it on app open, and the only thing you can do if you don’t, is a simple speed test. Do not bother with NetSpot.

They have really cool options available on NetSpot , but you have to have an external expensive piece of hardware to use it. That should be listed in the title and their website should also state that clearly.

All NetSpot is, is a wireless speed test. You will be required to speed hundreds of dollars to get the external device to make it properly work.

NetSpot needs to be removed from NetSpot Store as it is misleading.

That’s all it is. If you want to run any sort of analysis you need to buy a $600 external hardware and connect it to your phone to run the diagnostics.

Completely useless without it.

They show some functionality on displays but they don’t tell us that requiere an external device, there are others apps that do that without an external devices and are free.

Downloaded it for a WiFi analyzer. Got the message about the WiPry, and the only other button led to an internet speed test, which I don’t need.

I saw on NetSpot notes that the desktop connection was not required. But NetSpot indicates otherwise when loaded. How is this even allowed in NetSpot Store?

Yeah, don’t promote something as a free app and then one needs to instal another program on a laptop, then hook up with a USB.
Just why have NetSpot in the first place?

NetSpot is pretty much useless and can’t do anything. In order to use it you need to buy a piece of tech they sell for $650. Surely this is the lowest rated app I’ve ever come across.

What’s NetSpot? Doesn’t do anything. Has a link for screen test and just took my location to do nothing!

NetSpot name should indicate this is a utility for a specific piece of hardware. It’s utility without the $650 hardware is limited to a speed test, something available in thousands of apps.

I download an app to use on my phone. I don’t download an app so it makes me plug my phone to a usb to a computer. Why would I need to attach usb to test Wi-Fi?

Don’t waste your time. This does nothing until you purchase a $600 plus dollar professional app that works with it. They should say something.

They don’t even give you any features to use at all would not recommend they force you to try to pay

Don’t bother downloading, installing NetSpot. It does absolutely nothing without purchasing some other product. What a scammer this developer is!

NetSpot sounds good until you find you that you have to buy the $649 wipry dongle to make it work.

Advertised as one thing, open it to find it does NOTHING without buying a subscription service.

As soon as it’s loaded, it requires an expensive in app purchase. I’m sure they scam a lot of people this way :-(

As soon as you complete the download it requires the payment, otherwise does not work. falsely advertised, said free but not free.

I have the desktop app and I do not need a fancy, overpriced single to make it work.
