From the other reviews it looks like MagicPacket does exactly what I needed to, but there are no step-by-step instructions showing how to get this to work.
I set everything up correctly, and the first few times, it worked.
Now, whenever you use shut down, sleep, and reboot options, all it says is that the request timed out. To wake it up, about half of the time MagicPacket says make sure I am connected to wifi (which I am) and the other half it says packet sent, however nothing happens to my pc.
Not sure about others, But after I installed it, it changed my network settings, disabled it and I couldn't vist website. I tried all the ways to filter the problem and found once I install it. This will happen.... So be careful.
this has been my all time favorite magic packet app, and i've been looking forward to the changes made in the latest update, but the ability to disable the "shutdown" "sleep" and "restart" functions _seem_ to have been removed.
I loved that it was one button press to turn on a computer remotely, but now it's two and i don't need the other functions, and would rather have the old functionality back.
Amazing update though, having actions as widgets is incredible, i do wish the control center actions didn't have to be tied to a specific host.
MagicPacket works fantastic plus has a nice UI :)
Follow The instructions and you will have a great time. WOL Works remotely every time
This is the only app that truly works. Brief, intuitive, and to the point.
First time using Wake on LAN, and only app I’ve used to send magic packet, but it works flawlessly for my needs.
The set up was easy. A small amount of networking knowledge is required but other than that MagicPacket works great.
Easy to use and has a good design.
The creator even put up tutorials on setting up wake on lan for people who are not familliar.
Update: After the latest patch, Siri works like a charm. :)
MagicPacket + the service that runs on the PC allows for sending Sleep, Wake, Reboot, and Shutdown commands from my phone to PC’s on my network; and shortcut actions exist to accomplish this from the home-screen. Very cool! “Wake” shortcut action is listed twice in the list of shortcuts selections, and no “Sleep” is listed, so I have to open MagicPacket anyways in order to get the full set of commands. Developer seems unresponsive so far. Not very cool. Overall though works very well and is well-designed.
The UI is very nice and the functionality and options are great. MagicPacket icon is a bit weird but everything else is perfect. great job.
I have tried many wake on lan apps. This one is the best. Most intuitive GUI, frequent updates, works with Siri shortcuts. Highly recommend
Easy to use and works great. But It only has wake up shortcut, it would be better if it can also have shutdown and reboot shortcuts.
Not only does MagicPacket look great and send magic packets, but it comes with an accompanying server to run on the computer that allows it to shutdown, sleep, and reboot remotely!
Everything works as intended. I can shut down, reboot, sleep, and wake up my computer from over the internet. Took some set up on my router to get it fully working (forwarding ports 9 & 5154, static IP to device, ARP binding, and Dynamic DNS)
Hello, my system is iOS 16. Why don’t the latest versions of apps have widgets on the main screen’s negative first screen?
MagicPacket offers what it’s competitors don’t in a fairly limited market...iPad landscape support. I know, I know. Why do I care? HUGE upset in workflow to be forced to change from landscape to portrait. The other features are nice but this, for me, is what makes MagicPacket worth the 99 cents. THANK YOU!
Supports landscape on the iPad, has a widget where one can add devices for fast wake up access and monitoring (the widget pings the device and shows a green dot if it’s up), very useful especially on the iPad where you can have the widgets always showing on the left side.
Amazing developer too with fast response. I had an issue and he sent me a video that he recorded for me to show me some steps. Stayed with me via email until my issue was resolved.
Works perfectly with easy setup. No issues at all.
