NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork does not help you see if there’s an Aurora in the US, or see a live stream of the US night sky. The supposed US camera doesn’t even work. You can get live feeds online for free such as the Skunk Bay weather cam. Don’t waste your money. There are several better apps out there. If you just want to watch Northern European countries at night it might work for you, but US and a Canada it’s a bust.

Newest review:
Canceled subscription and deleted. This is twice now that ads have shown up when they shouldn’t. This time there wasn’t even a way to see if “Restore Purchases” would help. Intro page is skipped, and there’s no access to it. It seems another app now has live webcams (many of them) and only a one-time fee. I may try that.

Original review:
Haven’t seen much yet. I realize that’s the sporadic nature of the aurora—but that also makes the persistent “leave a review” popups annoying. The options seem to be “leave a review” or “leave a review.” You’d have a better response—and more stars—by having a “remind me later” option at the very least. Asking me whether I’m enjoying NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork before much has happened almost forces a “no” response—which I don’t think is what you want. There also seems to be a lot of notifications without anything to see, which interrupts other things I’m trying to do on my phone.

Upgraded to 4 stars because I haven’t seen the “leave a review” request for a while.

I have to say, I like NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork , some of the cameras are a little disappointing, but overall I’m really pleased. BUT!!!! The kicker is the ads for KIDS GAMES.... like every 30 seconds as the aurora is progressing here’s a solicitation for some silly game! There are more ads than good aurora viewing. I wish there was a way to purchase NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork (I’d pay good money FYI) but there’s no way to contact the developer, nor an option anywhere to purchase NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork .

First, I do enjoy NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork. Having the notification when the sky comes alive is a great feature. But I find that, at least for Iceland, the cameras are often out of focus or have a weird light too close to them. The videos themselves are very hard to click on when viewing a camera. The close button is difficult to press because it’s overlaid with the video options. The left and right buttons are difficult to hit because of the video options. I have yet to find a way to purchase NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork without having to watch the extremely annoying ads.

It’s wonderful to see the Northern Lights and the Sky is Alive notification is great. However, Norway has 1 camera 12 - Lyngenalps, that is always dark even when notified that the sky is alive there. 1 camera 10 - Senjaislands that is pointed at the street and the water. Last year, the problem was Iceland. Do they have people in each city to maintain these cameras and/or do the developers double check NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork for these issues on a regular basis? I think it would be a good addition to NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork to allow users to notify them immediately through NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork that there are issues. Perhaps a link we could click to notify you promptly of issues? If they could fix the ongoing camera issues, I’d give NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This does a pretty good job of letting you know if the aurora are out, but only in a small area. 20-30km away and it could be totally different. It would also be good know for how long they have been seen consistently. If it was just a 5 min break in cloud cover, it might not be worth heading to their area to catch a glimpse. Could also use some coverage in the eastern part of Iceland.

Not living near Aurora yet suffering from Lights Fever after a few trips hunting them, I have a gazillion sites saved in a folder on my phone that are live camera links. I love NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork, unfortunately not for its alerts or anything since they don’t apply to me, but just for the ease of use and switching cameras. A few areas are new to me and I thought I had every camera/website/group already discovered! Easy to switch, pretty self explanatory, simple app.

I get to search regions, check for activity (then watch live at she dances across the sky) and dream of retirement when I’ll move to one of these locations….😍

I only receive alerts for NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork. I like seeing magic in a different part of the world.
Sometimes you can see the landscape and/or homes!

Notifications are very helpful and easy to change. If you can’t be there to see the Aurora live, this is the next best thing. Thanks for this network!

I absolutely love NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork but It would be better if the cameras were maintained better. There are 3 or4 cameras out on any given day. I still love it and we watch it all the time.

NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork is very cool! I have been to 3 of the places in Iceland where there are cams. I went at the wrong time of the year to see the Northern Lights, and was planning to go back in October 2020, so this is the next best thing to being able to see them!

One of the greatest joys of my childhood was a National Geographic issue on the aurora borealis and NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork makes it easy for me to watch, live, this natural phenomenon taking place! Easy to use and a lovely break in these stressful times. Let’s me see the aurora without having to put on a parka and brave Arctic temperatures!! Thank you, developers!!

I like the heads up when mine ( If I were there ) should be but the pop up add after a few seconds driving me to a link I can’t close or escape from is driving me nuts . I may have to delete NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork if this continues as there appears to be no way even to
join ( pay ) to stop it .

I visited Iceland back in November and NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork was recommended by our tour guide so we could be on the lookout for the Northern lights. And, we got to see them in person the last night we were there. They were amazing.

NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork is awesome!! Ever since seeing them in person, I’ve kept NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork on my phone, and I get to see the Northern Lights when they happen. They are the coolest thing!
I’m glad the makers of NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork did this, and provides a window into their world! Thank you!

Just the fact that I can see live Aurora amazes me. I used to live in Alaska and the Aurora is one thing I miss the most. NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork tells me when they are active and offers several cameras, plus a photo feature that I really enjoy. For improvement, I would Like to be able to scroll forwards and back through the cams, instead of just in one direction. A few cams never come up for me, and at least one has a lot of light pollution. But in general, I am delighted at what I am able to see!

One question - one of the Cams has a label that states it is in North Dakota but it seems to be Norway. I recommend that this is fixed

My wife gave me a subscription. We were both excited. The aurora is on our bucket list!

Every time I get a notification and go look at the live feed, I cannot see anything. Even with a “skies are alive” notification.

Then there are the seemingly frequent and random 30 second long ads for games that I won’t play that take over my iPhone! Come on! Ads in a paid-for subscription?

I’m trying to find out how to cancel!

NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork was working Fine. 5 out of 7 web views were working but now the 5 are saying something about needing a G Suite Account. I have no idea what that means and there is nothing under settings that is helpful.

I would say that’s it’s the best app for hunting northern lights and because of the accuracy with which NorthernlightsAuroraNetwork sends you notifications I was able to see northern lights thrice during my trip to Iceland.
