Tried to download this to better sync my nightshift schedule with friends and S/O, but even when you create a thing for work that says pm shift or night shift it sets the time for 9am, and isnt smart enough to roll it over to the next day... so if my shift is from 7pm to 7am, i have to manually change the time to 7pm, then change the day over to the next day, then change that to 7am... with no option to quick save that because it wont be date specific... not very smart design honestly. Recurring function doesnt work well for this either for people like nurses who have different work days each week. Bad design.

My friends and I were going to use this to coordinate our schedules but the set up requires 3 friends before you can even get into Howbout , and is not intuitive when it comes to adding friends. We ended up deleting it and finding another one.

Requiring 3 linked friends before you can even access Howbout is one of the most asinine, ridiculous things I’ve ever seen in my life.

This is a stupid app and I’m glad we realized that quickly. -12/10 do not recommend.

Kind of pathetic that it’s mandatory to have at least 2 people in your contacts that uses Howbout. There’s only one person in my contacts that uses this and she was the one that invited me to use it. I can’t get past the setup without adding someone else. None of my friends are interested in Howbout , since we use something else due to us being nurses.

Howbout is designed to be non-functional until you’ve given it full access to everything in your calendar and everyone you know. That might be fine if I already trusted Howbout , or I’d already knew it does what I want, but I’m not going to start inviting my friends/ family to use an app that I don’t know already works. It takes a special kind of arrogance to think you get access to everyone I know just because I downloaded a stupid app…

Couldn’t even get past start! It first asks for your phone # and then hit “continue”. It said my number had a problem and there was no further “fix” from there???

Can’t even get past start. Completely pointless and I should not have to message support to get started on an app. I don’t see the point in using something that has problems before I even create an account. Really dumb.

Absolutely mind-blowing how stupid an idea this it is to *require* you to add 3 people before you can do literally anything on Howbout .

To be clear, I get it. Encourage more people to download it! Grow the user base by getting people on the platform!

Personally I want to join a group of friends who have a single group event calendar. Can’t. How is one of the most obvious use cases impossible because of a weird requirement?

This would be great for a book club… except you can’t use it for that without adding multiple people first. Or for divorced parents to coordinate kids schedules. Or for a rec team to post game schedules. But no, you made an arbitrary requirement to try and squeeze more downloads.

Embarrassing that this stupid idea made it beyond a bad pitch in a conference room.

I wanted to use Howbout with my boyfriend and I was actually really excited so that we can coordinate plans together and see each other‘s work schedule, and you literally can’t move forward unless you have three friends to add. I want to use Howbout just with him. Ridiculous that this stops you from moving forward. Deleting

Thought this would be a cute app me and my boyfriend could use to keep track of each other’s schedules, plan date nights with less hassle, this way we weren’t constantly butting heads seeing if the other was off work that night, or had a social event. But Howbout requires you to add 3 friends “otherwise it’s just a calendar”. While I get the social aspect of it. I mean what if you only have two other friends you want to share with. Even my friend group is a trio, so would we still not be allowed to use it? Just seems pushy to FORCE people to use your app a specific way 🤷🏼‍♀️

If anyone knows of another easy shared calendar app I’d love to know

First of all, I’d like to see the features before adding anyone, so kind of stupid that the first thing it does is force you to send a link to your friends. I’m not going to send a link to my friends without seeing that this has the features we need. Second of all, I wanted Howbout so I could share it with my best friend. Just one friend, not 3. But it forces you to add 3 people before you can even see what the functions of Howbout are.

I have weekly events set through a certain date, then they stop. On the this app calendar they never stopped being scheduled, they just kept going weekly. Extremely annoying, tried unlinking my calendar and relinking it, refreshing the calendar, and deleting and remaking the account.

I just wanted this for myself and my best friend and was really excited about it but it’s not possible to use unless you invite 3 friends. Wish there was an option to just invite one friend to use. Regardless had to delete app and found another one. Don’t recommend unless you have at least 3 other people to share calendars with

We often have to schedule meetings via group chat and it wasn’t working due to us having school, work, and other things keeping us very busy. We needed something easy and visual to block off our schedules. Unfortunately this didn’t work. We are trying out time tree instead and it seems to work better

It doesn’t update my iPhone calendar with events anymore. If an event is updated in Howbout the wording doesn’t update my iPhone calendar. Minuswell use another app to create events. Thought it was great initially but no longer after these things happening.

The developers must not actually use Howbout or they would fix the obvious glitches. My biggest complaint is that there is no word wrap in the details field. Text won’t fit and there is no way to drag or zoom out. Another: you cannot make edits to a plan without resending an invite to all. So… if you edit late at night and save then all the invitees get notified. Why?

Has been okay until I set up a recurring event. It shows on the monthly calendar but when you click on an individual day it shows nothing so I can’t see the time frames for the events unless I switch to list view. But that only shows my events and not my friends which defeats the purpose of having Howbout when I only got it to see when me and my friends are free between classes. And I shouldn’t have to add each class individually for an entire semester.

I was really excited to use Howbout for my boyfriend and I. I wanted us to be able to see each others schedule and be able to plan stuff together. The reason I’m disappointed is because you’re forced to add friends to be able to access Howbout . I don’t want other people to be able to see my schedule, I just wanted to share it with my boyfriend.

Love Howbout , super helpful. It would be nice if you can add multiple locations per event (for example if you are planning to meet w/ friends at the movies and getting ice cream afterward)

Howbout used to stack all of the different colored plans on top of each other when you shared a plan on the calendar but now whenever you share a plan it just has a peace of color next to it to indicate the people invited and there is no way to change it back. it irritated me so bad and I had to switch to a different shared calendar app.

Although i’ve only had Howbout for a couple of weeks i feel there should be more colors that we can set for different activities. In addition, i stronglyyy feel that there should be an option to create events even if u don’t plan on going or even if u might be not be able to go but just so i can see it. I would like to set holidays in as a headups or even maybe a movie coming out or parties that i could possibly attend without Howbout forcing me to chose i can attend. Hopefully that makes sense.

For different plans/events you should be able to change the color of the plans on the calendar and when you switch months calendars it should only show that month not the beginning of the next month and end of the next

Reporting bugs does not seem to be a simple process within Howbout and you are redirected to their website. Getting help, being all the way at the bottom of the site. And their FAQ section having absolutely nothing on how to reports bugs. The only option left is to email and hope *maybe* they see it.

I constantly have Howbout somehow turn off the shared schedules I have with friends and also somehow changes their colors without me doing anything. Another bug is constantly seeing Howbout have a notification both on the home screen and Howbout itself. To which there is no new notification, like its just stuck there and refuses to go away. Deleting Howbout and reinstalling does not fix the issue either.

App locks some features behind a requirement to add 3 friends. What if I have 1 friend?

I’ll start off by saying I hate how you HAVE to add three friends to even begin using it and they keep shoving it down your throat until you do so. Another thing I hate is how you can’t use the calendar to pick days when you’re trying to put down a multi-day, all-day event. Anywhere you put your finger, it’ll just go to the day before that ?? For whatever reason and then when you try to save it, it shows a completely different date like at that point what is the little calendar for if it doesn’t even do the job. A widget on the iPhone would be pretty helpful too. Other than that though I actually quite like Howbout . It’s very helpful with planning things with friends and easy to organize. I find it very useful in my everyday life. It would be way nicer if they fixed those mistakes.

I think this is a wonderful app!! It has been super helpful between me and my girlfriend seeing each others plans and work schedules to plan dates. I do believe Howbout could run a little smoother but between each update I have no real complaints. I just think It’s about time to add a widget for Howbout ! I think it’ll be so useful, I have a seperate calender app for my own personal errands (it does link to this app thankfully! so my girlfriend still sees what i’m up to) but it’ll be nice having this app on my homescreen and not having to always open Howbout if i want to know my girlfriend’s schedule. i think it’ll be a great addition 💖

I can easily say that this is a really helpful calendar. I love the fact that we can make plans with no effort and that we have the opportunity to share our calendars with our friends. However something that annoys me is past events and the “time-travel” joke. I would really appreciate it if you could let us add events in past dates, because we might forget to add them beforehand but we want to have a calendar that has everything that happened this month.

I am a sophomore in high school with a very busy life. I have also just recently moved away from my (used to be) home town. I still would like to see my friends often, but it was always hard with everyone being so busy. Howbout makes it easier! Giving us a visual representation of when we can plan something together! On top of that, it’s just really cute, i love the gifs, i absolutely love the countdowns, and i find the group chats incredibly helpful!

I love Howbout it keeps me extremely organized, but I definitely think if Howbout had a widget function for the I phone version it would be 5 star. Just the ability to not even open Howbout and see what i have going on today would be great

Easy to use, very manageable, perfect for my friend group. In fact, I think I prefer it over my actual calendar app. I just wish you can have it as a widget on my iPhone, would make life much easier as someone who doesn’t tap into apps as frequently.

this app is great! It makes planing things with friends so much easier. We all have busy schedules and so Howbout allows us to see when we each are available. It also really helps for spontaneous adventures as you can see if the person you want to hang out with is free that day.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars though is because of the color customization being locked behind having to invite 3 people to Howbout . I do not have 3 people to share this with and so It seems I am forever stuck with the inability to customize the color

Everything about this is super cute, I love that you can pin things for countdown, super helpful!! I really want to make this my main app but it needs a widget ASAP!!! Please!!!! It’s too amazing to not have it on my home screen! I wrote an email about it as well I hope that is something to come. Other than that it’s well organized and great to look at :)

Howbout is great and super smart but i have certain groups of friends that I would like to see separately from other people. I have a lot of people on Howbout and it can get very crowded looking at everyonce schedules. I hope you can improve Howbout so that its even more helpful!

Howbout is great! I love how easy it is to see everyone’s schedule and it’s simple and fun. The only issue I had is that when it displays my friends calendar and I invite them to a plan, it also displays multiple of the same plan we have together. It would be nice to condense it down so it doesn’t appear multiple times/don’t see the same plan multiple times & still be able to see everyone’s calendar.

I like it a lot so far, a couple things I would ask is maybe you can still use Howbout regardless of sending it to people? Even so there should be an option where you can send the invites to people in other apps social apps such as discord, instagram, facebook. Just an option other than phone numbers because there’s communities that don’t involve phone numbers; so it could be online plans or checking up on friends to see what their schedules are.

I’ve been looking for a shared calendar app for a good while now. This one is almost exactly what I was looking for: it’s customizable so I can have the week start on Monday and use 24-hour time. It’s simple and easy to use; I can be cute and creative without the options being overwhelming. Currently I share the calendar with 3 other people and it’s worked out incredibly well.

My only suggestion so far is I wish I could select a bunch of days and add my work schedule; I have a wonky schedule so I can’t select a recurring date. As of now, I have to add my work schedule to every day individually which is annoying. But worth it for everything else.

I usually don’t write reviews but I loved Howbout so much. At first it took me a little time to figure out how to use it but then got it. I love using it because I don’t like regular l calendars. You can also share an plan with your friends to see what they have going on.

Howbout may benefit from a usability study to simplify its usage for the people who are not so app savvy. Sometimes invitees have hard times seeing the changes or appointments on the home page. Perhaps a simple video showing how to use Howbout showing how to find invites or how to navigate will help. Also for the edits to show up Howbout has to be closed and opened again which is not a usual behavior for most apps. Otherwise this is a very useful tool. Thank you

I’ve been using Howbout for about a month now and I love it. Super easy to use and it’s made planning really fun and easy. I’ve always been bad at organizing but going into college, it’s really made the transition super easy. 10/10 app!

Super amazing app, definitely better than the apple calendar. Love the idea of incorporating friend-decisions for hangouts and how certain events can he reoccurring. BUT, was wondering if the team can create widgets or icons for the lock-screen for easier access. Just because calendar is a major part of my day-to-day life. First thing I do in the morning is to open up this app and check my “morning routine” event block, see the details of how my morning routine is done.

Howbout is so amazing for planning hangouts and events with friends. It allows you to see what your friends are up to and when you guys can hang out. Howbout has made my life so much easier and I genuinely believe I see my friends more because we can make plans so much easier!! 10/10 recommend :)))

It helps my friends and I plan get togethers. I love how you can see other people’s schedules so you can take into account when they’re busy while planning meet ups. They also have countdowns to the next pinned event which I really like. A great feature that should be added are widgets that display the countdown to the next event. Great app. Recommend for planning things.

I absolutely love Howbout I have no problems with it but recently when I’ve been trying to answer some of the chats, but when I click to open them it opens the chat and then Howbout reloads, I wait then open the chat again and then app does that all over again. I’m still able to text people back but it just keeps repeating the same thing over and over again and it’s beginning to bug me.

I love it so much. I’m constantly so busy and this has made the world the me for my family and friends. I’m 17 and am in college and high school and have lots of stuff to do with work and business. I’m just super freaking busy and it’s so hard to even try to plan. I had 6 physical calendars because digital literally NEVER worked for me. I recommend this highly and I don’t have to pay. I love it so much they are awesome

Howbout is amazing and has made it so easy for me and my friends to make plans and see who is busy and when. Even better is how it’s free. It’s not hard to use at all and is very user friendly. Had made it so much easier for me to plan out my weeks for my personal use too. Only thing that would make Howbout 10x better is if a feature would be added to allow you to make a widget so I could see my calendar on my home screen or home page. Other than that would 100% recommend Howbout.

It’s honestly exactly what I’ve been looking for. I love all if the features of Howbout ESPECIALLY the bucket list!! It revolutionizes planning with my friends and we’re all so excited.

If I could recommend anything, the only few issues I’ve found (which are very minimal) is that it doesn’t let me paste addresses in, or paste any messages at all in Howbout ..it just glitches out and won’t let me

Another thing I’d love is if I could choose to just not show items from my phone calendar on this apps calendar. The feature to transform it into the apps format is good, BUT it won’t delete the plan on the calendar im formatting it from. I have to leave Howbout , delete the plan on the iPhone calendar, and then refresh Howbout to see the plan gone. It’s definitely not the biggest deal, but as someone who likes things organized, having multiple of one thing on one day bothers me. I would just love if j could toggle off things from my synced calendar individually!

I love like the personal colors but I think it needs more colors and when you hang out with a group that group has a certain color instead of all the peoples colors I also think general polls should be a thing like a poll before the plan is even made. More specific date settings like the 4th Monday of every month or something. And last on reoccurring events make it so the host isn’t shown as going to every one, I’m just making the plan of a weekly thing I can’t go every week. Thank you love Howbout a lot true game changer

This is the best app for making group events. Gone are the days of annoying group chats. I love the polls, it’s so much easier to just have everyone vote on what day they can it. I definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone. I use for my church group, rugby team, and the Super Bowl party that I’m having for my small friends group.

I absolutely love Howbout!! I made everyone download it so we can keep track of our schedule and everyone is on the same page with family events and events with friends! I love how easy it is to put all of the event information in one place and get reminders. The only problem is I wish there was a desktop version so I can use it on my laptop! But everything else is great!

While this app easily attracts the planner in your group, it may be even better for the people who HATE planning. Howbout makes planning and getting a group together easy so you can spend less time planning and more time having fun with friends! Perhaps the greatest benefit is the ease of connecting with people at your parties and other activities to be able to include them in your next plans. Easy to be inclusive and branch out with this app—like Meet Up but at a micro level, how most friends and connections are made. Excited to see how Howbout evolves, particularly with tools to help remember the great moments!

This has been great for know what my friends plans are for during the summer! Any time I want to hang out all I have to do is check the schedule! I kinda wish I had this sooner so I could’ve done more with my friends.
