Opens with a map of the US. You need to zoom in on the area you want wind speed for, then click “show nearby stations”, which does nothing! Just experimenting with it, then tells me I need a PRO subscription. Subscription for a tool (wind speed) most every all-in-one (some free) weather app gives us by default? Forget it! Absolutely the worst UI just to get wind speed in my area that I’ve ever seen!

Useless app with what comes with the free version. I am on 1 gig service using the 5th generation ipad and I could never get any of the layers to come in less than 60 minutes of time even using the hints provided within WindSpeedForecastApp . Can’t get any other graphics other than provided with the map layers of which really isn’t of any use if you need updated weather in a timely manner. Waiting 60 seconds for radar is insane when you can get instant radar in an app called MY Radar with much better resolution and lightning data.

Get an app called Windy for wind data, or weather bug for better graphics and better performance.

I love WindSpeedForecastApp. If you need to know the hourly forecast for a location, this is amazing.

This update adds exactly what we need, widgets! However, it doesn’t show what we need.

I want to be able to see the hourly forecast for a certain location on the map. It already allows me to save a location, we just want to see the hourly forecast itself on a widget. Please please please consider this!

Of all the weather apps that are free this is pretty good. Have tried all the others & not one is as good. I am a grower of produce & fruits. I use this for accuracy. The others are on the East Coast or in the mid-west. I live on the left coast & their forecast is right on the mark. CWR

I wish WindSpeedForecastApp had a zoom feature. I’m not talking about the maps, but the data parts.
None of these apps have Zoom. Why? Us old people need zoom. It would help my work-related eye-stressed eyes. Maybe I should just stop using this iPhone so much too. I can’t help it, I’m addicted! I’m drowning in data! LOL?

It takes a longtime for WindSpeedForecastApp to come up when you move cursor it has to reacquire data , slow would be nice to have wind motion to guide not just directional

Out of all the weather apps put there, this one is most accurate I have ever used! I can plan with certainty trips and adventures. WindSpeedForecastApp is simply awesome!

Great app for its intended purpose and that is to zero in on wind direction and intensity. Would get five stars if there was a “locate me” button to click for quick pinpointing of where you are when maybe you are hunting, etc and don’t know exactly where you are or you don’t want to have to open a gps or maps app to do so and then come back to WindSpeedForecastApp. (Edited review....now 5 stars)

Living in a place visited by tropical storms and hurricanes, frequent thunderstorms 9 out of 12 months, and a need to know whether the wind is coming to or from the ocean even during good weather makes WindSpeedForecastApp a must!

Love your app!!! I use it everyday to check the wind in my area so I’ll know if I should put my outdoor umbrellas up. Before I got your app... I snapped three $100+ umbrellas using google weather app. Thank you for your hourly wind report.

I live on Cape Cod and the wind report is very important to me. WindSpeedForecastApp provides that and more. I am also able to have limitless “favorite” settings showing the weather all over the states where my family and friends reside. Doesn’t seem as limited as some of the other weather apps.

I have tried several apps for wind speed and direction but this is the easiest one to use and read. I often go kayak fishing in W Galveston bay and I always check WindSpeedForecastApp before leaving the house. The hourly forecast is so nice and easy to read.

I originally got this for the wind forecasts and current wind gusts. When they offered to update to include all the information it gives, I purchased the upgrade. Now, this is my go to for all weather information, one of the best out there for what it does.

I am a weather nerd. I am a former sailor and I find the data to be accurate (even though I am land locked now). Lots of data packed into WindSpeedForecastApp and easy to navigate. I use it now for days I want to fish. Also great when you live in a “fringe area” not really covered by your nearest local weather forecast !

Very good and accurate app. For the hourly, one issue is that when I scroll to the right, the titles in the left scroll off the screen and it becomes hard to remember which one was which I.e. which one was wind, which one was wind gusts, which one was humidity etc. Would be helpful if the titles could stay on the screen as one scrolls right or down.

I downloaded this because I work in the wind power industry and rely heavily on accurate wind forecasts. While we have dedicated software for wind forecasts, it’s nice to have something on my phone that’s easy to pull out and look at. Really nice app.

Side note, I reached out to the developer with a suggestion (to add m/s wind speed unit), and he promptly emailed me back to thank me for my input. Love seeing devs that interact with their users.

WindSpeedForecastApp cuts through useless information and gets you directly to the information you need when going offshore! I would highly recommend it.

App works well but it needs an location/my location option. It’s a pain having to zoom in from a full view of the US to find yourself.
Other than that, solid app

I use WindSpeedForecastApp to determine if I can take my skiff into the coastal flats. However, it’s painful to get this thing to show other locations, save favorites, and find current location. It’s needs a search function badly.

On the plus. We use about 4 or 5 apps to determine the weather and wind about a week out. WindSpeedForecastApp is by far more accurate than any of the others.

Live on a lake, use wind info for planning waterski trips (low/no wind = good), sailing trips (some wind = good). App is easy to use, gives me the info I can use.

I use WindSpeedForecastApp in the Midwest for windsurfing, I’m able to easily see wind direction and speeds for the full week, broken down by hour. Perfect for what I need.

Thankful that I down loaded and used app today. Was going to fish tonight but winds are strong. Better off on the couch tonight!
