They once again are asking me to change my review. My app is fully updated and still has the issues. It is a BAD DESIGN. They don’t understand how students will use MigiiJLPT .
Don’t waste your money, you won’t learn anything and the development team will bother you a lot. Really negative experience.

Don’t waste your money. Lowered to 1 star for the number of times they keep asking me to fix THEIR design and change my review.

Why why why. The new design is so bad. I hate the note button when taking the test. I hate that when you click the explain button it only goes up like 25 percent of the screen from bottom. I hate that i kept accidentally touch the note button. And it’s very annoying when try to pull the explanation to see the full explanation after giving the answer in the quiz. Ugh!!

Lots of bugs related subscriptions and offline data.
I restored the purchase on a new Mac, Migii JLPT says it is restored and says180 days of subscription remaining. However whenever I go the download section or read exercises it prompts me to subscribe even though I restored a valid subscription.

In offline mode you can select words to lookup in the dictionary. The popup says to download the dictionary data for offline use, however in the donload section there is no option to download the dictionary.

Like others on here I upgraded to premium and eventually MigiiJLPT stopped working. I can’t access any lessons, it keeps saying to upgrade to premium (already bought) and regardless it’s saying “you need to download lessons for offline mode” I’m clearly online…

It was nice when it worked, but considering this glitch or whatever seems to happen frequently I’m not sure it’s worth paying for.

Paid for premium and the old design offered extensive ability to translate based on a selection of text. The re-work offers that to 20% of the original, Verbs cannot be highlighted half the time and most of anything textually related cannot be translated into English. But only Japanese-Japanese. If I highlight a quarter of a sentence or work I don’t get the full meaning at all I have to use a translation app. Nothing appears anymore compared to the older version. Amazing app to work with but becomes 300% harder to do anything because the re-design reflaws out features that aren’t suppose to have issues and bugged out frequently.

Difficult to understand how to use MigiiJLPT - the readings at N2 level contain mostly N1 kanji which limits reading comprehension - takes way too long to read an article - if you can’t understand it and it is not suited to the level it claims to be I would prefer to study something else that has had a bit more thought put into being level-appropriate (Kanshudo, Wani Kani, etc.). In addition the English translations are often not correct - wish I had not wasted money on this…..

On the first practice test of N4, there’s a reading section about a broken computer screen with questions on how to fix a certain issue, however the multiple choice options did not match up with the correct answer. I checked with a Japanese person, they said not only is the correct answer not listed, the Japanese in a lot of the questions are phrased very oddly to the point where he questioned if a Japanese person made MigiiJLPT or not.

Lots of practice problems is great for learners, but for somebody serious about getting a perfect score or always being perfect there are too many mistakes. I’m fluent in Japanese and just wanted to review so I did some N1 tests or problems and noticed a couple mistakes. Not worth paying for if you are fluent probably… and if I did pay I would just pay for a month(because I just want a quick review), why does it force you to pay for 3 months at once…couldn’t find a way to just test it for a month, you guys should have like a free trial for a week or two or something to give people that are more advanced a chance to see if they actually can review the language or something…
I don’t get why the tests have mistakes in them when you have so many users and financial support, please higher a professional Japanese proof reader. If it was a free app I could forgive the mistakes.

1) The audio is extremely poor quality and does not sound natural.
2) Sentence translations in some examples are overwhelmingly incorrect. For example, a Japanese sentence could include two clauses (which is a rather long sentence), but the translation would be something like, “This is not a good idea.” Reviewing the Japanese sene tende would include a handful of vocabulary that’s not even included in the English translation.

These two flaws keep me from buying a subscription. Plus, the fact that I can’t even preview other study modes (grammar, listening, etc.) makes me even more hesitant to buy, because I don’t know what to expect and if it would even satisfy my expectations.

I have only been using this for an hour so far. I have found severe mistakes already with the kanji readings. I am happy with MigiiJLPT so far even though there are these mistakes. Hopefully the developers will reach out as I have taken screen shots. I recommend this a supplement to your studies , not a one and done study guide. I will write a follow up as I use more.

Both the paid and free version of MigiiJLPT are great and really are good ways to study as a hobby or another way to practice for your classes. My only issue is that it doesn’t have a side view and that basically it. Other than that, app is great.

While I wish I had to physically put the answer in myself instead of it being multiple choice; I do understand the nature of the test is thus. So far it’s good for testing what I do and do not know thus far. I might have more to say later but for now…back to studying!

Hello! I think it would be incredibly beneficial for learners to get full sentence readings for all exercises in every portion of MigiiJLPT . This would increase input while also helping with sight recognition of kanji and their correlated readings.

Generally speaking MigiiJLPT is useful and very convenient while you have pieces of time, instead of watching Tiktok, you can practicing language! BUT! Be careful with the grammar and explanation parts. There are some minor mistakes and I reported all the time, don’t know if the developers will receive my messages or not.

I was skeptical initially about purchasing a yearly plan but the Roadmap & the reading practice makes MigiiJLPT worth the price.
The cons are the occasional mistakes in MigiiJLPT . I have to admit even with the occasional mistakes that if you are at a higher level you can spot them yourself usually.
It’s not a ton of mistakes but with the amount of content in MigiiJLPT you might let it slide.
Overall it’s actually worth it as a helper for just practicing reading comprehension passages.

I think there’s a clear difference between learning & practicing for the test. I don’t have a comment or opinion on learning Japanese. If you already speak & read Japanese & want to practice for what’s on the test, MigiiJLPT is great & worth the cost.

I purchased premium subscription today and I highly recommend everyone out there…

Honestly, I wish I found out about MigiiJLPT a long time ago when I first started learning Japanese. MigiiJLPT has it all; theres much material to go off of with quick results, questions and exercises similar to that of the real test, and the deal I got for premium made the experience even more delightful. I love MigiiJLPT so much, my Japanese has improved so much since using it.

I downloaded Migii app about 3-4 months back. I tended to use MigiiJLPT to practice for the JLPT.
MigiiJLPT is easy to use and because it's a iOS app it is easy to carry thousands of test questions without the worry loading track of your progress.

That is until I realized I am having issues logging in to Migii. I just gave my phone a fresh install of the iOs and updated to iOS 15

I use Apple ID to login where I am unable to do so. Apparently after hitting the log in button I am shown a snack at menu at the top of the screen with the words "login failed"

Maybe the best app to prepare for JLPT - clear interface, interesting ways to learn, very comprehensive. Service is also great: forgot password and didn’t upgrade MigiiJLPT - had my premium account restored in minutes through the FB messenger with kind and professional human assistance. Hugely recommend.

I have been using MigiiJLPT for a few months to review for my upcoming exam. It is a great help. It is easy to use and has everything I need for the review. I am also impressed with their technical support. I encountered a tiny glitch and they fixed it very quickly. Arigatou!!!
