I first joined this app when I was a senior in high school looking to find friends who would be going to college with me. I met SO many people who are my friends even to this day while I am a current college student, one of them is my roommate!! this app is great for keeping it exclusive to people in the college so no creeps join the chats- plus every student in the this app has access to join whatever group they want so there is no exclusivity. Whereas, with groupme you have to get a link and anyone can kick you out at any point (I actually had a problem with a groupme chat doing that last semester). this app has done nothing less than facilitate good community building for incoming college freshman and help them find friends in their interests and I am very thankful for that.

It’s hard to meet/interact with other students on social platforms like Snapchat/Instagram (group chat limit, etc.), and especially in a time like this. this app is the perfect place to talk to other students. At first, I had a little trouble navigating because there were so many features but after a little, it was much easier. It’s easy to make friends through the common interests filter and then making private group chats with them. I absolutely love this app and recommend it to anyone looking to make more friends in their college class. If this app isn’t available for the school you’re attending, you should definitely reach out to the 2025 Instagram and ask them to become an ambassador!!!

We are using it for a class of 2025 college to connect with other classmates and it is so helpful! It is so easy to use and navigate through Patio . Patio is so easy to pickup and get the hang of. Also, it allows you to create different groups and be in any/all groups that relate to your interests! It is so much better than all other communication apps(GroupMe, Snapchat, etc.) because it is all in one spot, there is no maximum amount of people in a group, and you can join individual groups that interest you instead of just being in one big group that may talk about things that don’t relate to you. I highly recommend Patio, by far the best communications app for school!! Love Patio!

I’m currently admitted to my dream college. To be honest I’m super scared about all the what ifs: making friends, getting a good roommate, and having a friend group. After I found the this app for my college, it changed my life. Everyone was so active and I’ve made a bunch of friends. The plus side of Patio is that you can create a bio, a roommate gc, and honestly, it’s so better than GROUPME. GROUPME had a lot of technical issues and we weren’t able to create a bio and show our interests. To add on to it was just confusing and there wasn’t much to do with it. Creating separate group chats all under the same class is so cool! I honestly love this app and it doesn’t get the Recognition it deserves.

Everything works pretty seamlessly especially the links to people’s social media accounts. I love the interest tags and I think other than a double notification issue I’m having right now? I have zero complaints. Patio is perfect for the class of 2025! College ain’t so terrifying if you get to know people with zero pressure like this before it even starts. My class made so many niche groups and ahhh!! It’s fun, I’m getting caught up on important things like how to apply for specific programs. I feel so comfortable using Patio and I genuinely appreciate it’s existence!! Get it y’all, you won’t regret it!!!

I never leave app store reviews, but I love this app, and highly encourage everyone to download it!! I have met so many potential future classmates, and especially during a time when it’s really difficult for in-person events and gatherings for admitted students, this app has helped me stay connected!! It is so easy to navigate Patio , and you can create your own profile, as well as see other people’s profiles which is such an amazing feature of that app, and one of the many reasons I love it!! If you are looking for a fun, simple and awesome way to meet your future classmates, then I really encourage that you download this app!

I was sent this from a classmate and reluctantly downloaded it - like who needs another chat app? But after having chimed into a few convos here and there I think it’s actually pretty powerful to be able to talk to people across my entire school campus, with groups for classes, clubs, etc. that i’m in. Esp while we are all doing classes remotely. I’ve made a couple friends who I didn’t already know by talking to them on a campus-wide chat, and I feel like as more of my classmates get on, it’ll get easier and easier to organize hangouts and whatnot.

The this app app seemed to be appealing at first, but lacks a complete set of morals. I downloaded Patio after I got admitted to a school and later joined (I also was an active user on their competitors app btw). I made a friend through this app and we spoke in the gc for a few hours, but before I knew it is as automatically kicked out of the gc (which is fine because I’ve committed to a different school, but I wanted to start a gc on this app) Ambassadors were speaking poorly about me in their chat calling me a troll saying I was promoting their competitor’s app (which I did not once mention), thus kicked me and completely banned my IP from Patio . I have dm’d them via insta but they have failed to acknowledge it. I have screen shots and screen recordings of the entire chat since I joined, and not once did I “troll” or mention their competitor.

Patio is a game changer. It gives students a safe place to communicate with their peers about different subjects, whether it be in a group message or one-on-one. Personal information such as a phone number is no longer a worry, as this app keeps all of your information safe and secure, and you can easily block people you don’t know. There are personalized groups for your incoming class to personalize to an individual’s interests. I recommend it to all of my peers to connect with their classmates for study groups, extracurriculars, or finding a roommate!

I downloaded this app a few weeks ago because a friend sent a link and use it almost everyday! It’s so much better than groupme. I can just go and find any group I want to join in discover groups and invite all my friends. The main chat is always popping and have even found so many potential roommates on the roommate chat. People are always talking on here and I really hope that once school starts we’ll continue using this because this is the best app I’ve used so far for meeting people and finding out things about college!!!

If you are an incoming college student looking to connect with other incoming freshmen, I highly recommend using this app. Patio makes it so easy to connect with others based on shared interests and find people you can hang out with or room with on the first day of school!

this app is also great for asking/answering questions and being prepared for Freshman year. Another great thing is how you can create your own groups for niche interests and talk to others without feeling intimidated. Patio is so helpful for the class of 2025.

just downloaded this app after committing to my college and its so amazing!! I was worried about meeting my new classmates, but this app has helped so much! I’m able to join a bunch of different group chats, and it’s super helpful that I’m able to see what people are interested in on their profiles. I’ve already met so many people, and even in the larger chats, people are always messaging so I feel like I always have a group to talk to whenever I want. can’t wait to keep using this app when I get to campus in the fall!!!

when I first heard about Patio, I was kinda sus only because I wasn’t sure how it would be different from any other social media app, however, now that i’ve been using it for a month, I love it. I love how it’s centered around college students and you can only join if you send proof of your acceptance, which makes it feel like a safe space for us students. I also enjoy how you have the ability to create separate group chats that are attached to the main group chat.

this app is a fantastic app for incoming college students because of its customizable features that make it extremely easy to communicate and socialize with others! Some awesome features of this app include the ability to connect your profile to your social media’s, Patio allows ANYONE to make group chats, and users can add interests/fun facts to your profile. I am so happy that my university is using this app because it’s user interface is so much more advanced and functional than all other platforms (groupme, loopchat, etc)

I’ve been using Patio for a few months and really like the interface, and the ability to search people based on interests was helpful in connecting with others! There’s also the ability to make your own group chats, which is useful for when conversations start to become a bit off topic for the general chat 😅. Overall, it’s a great way to connect with other people attending your college!

I was expecting very little when I downloaded Patio, but ended up finding an amazing alternative to other messaging platforms like Discord and GroupMe where I could connect with individuals who would be going to my college next year. this app even allows you to create a profile and select your interests, and then search other people by interest, and I think this is the perfect way to meet new people at my school. Five stars!

As an incoming freshman to a university that may very well choose to go completely remote, having an easy way to communicate with my classmates is so essential. Before this app, we used Groupme- which works well until you're scrolling through hundreds of texts trying to find an invite link to a group chat for a class you didn't know you'd be in. this app has made messaging so convenient for me. Highly recommend!

I am an current freshman and I heard about Patio. I wanted to help other incoming freshman find new friends though Patio. this app is so nice because when you join, you are automatically connect with people from your school and you can search for other previously made group chats.

It makes finding friends truly easier and the majority of people who have it say that they absolutely love it!!

I downloaded this app to better the contact and communications I had with other incoming college students at the university I’m attending and it’s AMAZING. Through this app I’ve been able to find a lot of other incoming college students who I share interests with and have an outlet to directly contact certain people as well as collectively contact groups of people. All around great for connectivity and building a community!!

At first I expected this app to be another group chat for colleges that no one talks in but it totally took me by surprise. I absolutely love Patio. Not only does it allow me to communicate with the other students apart of my college class but I am also able to make so many new friends & was able to find a roommate through Patio . I highly suggest this app for anyone who is look to make new friends and talk with other people in their class.

The best way to get to know and find classmates. Was always super awkward trying to find people to study with, play music with, play videogames with when we just had an email list or one huge fbook group. this app is super informal and the best way to find people in my class and on my campus - I don’t need to send an email blast to 6,000 people just to find someone to go to lunch or play Mariokart tonight. Honestly a game changer and super fast and clean. All I want from a chat app.

Patio couldn’t have come out at a better time for me - as a university student during covid it’s very hard to feel connected to my classmates / peers, but this app has made it much easier to meet people, get advice, and generally just feel more connected here (Stanford). 5/5 would DL again.

I am so glad I discovered this app! It is so easy to get connected with other people at my school and join groups based on different interests and classes. Also it is a great way to form new groups. I cannot wait to continue using it and to meet new people!

recently downloaded this past month with admissions coming out, and have had such an easy time meeting people from schools I’ve been admitted to! (UArizona, Arizona State) super easy to join diff group chats and love that you can find people with similar interests :)

Downloaded this recently because our quarter started again, and have been loving Patio. The design is clean; the separation in tabs works really well. Overall this has been a lovely new approach to group messaging 🤩

I think the this app is such an awesome way to connect with people! It allows you to make groups and then make even smaller group chats based on people’s similar interests! It’s easy to find people who are similar to you & make friends!

So far, Patio has been very user friendly and a lot easier to navigate than other apps like GroupMe. Would highly recommend this one
