1998 Cam - Vintage Camera Reviews

I purchased the extras in 1998Cam because it asked me every five seconds to rate it or buy it or for some other thing they wanted me to get/do. And even after I did they kept popping up things for me to do non stop. So That was obnoxious! But It’s only 3 bucks a month, or you can pay for it yearly, or a one time purchase which isn’t too bad. So far I’ve liked the filters and have enjoyed some of the other features.

I love the filter C83 but not really a fan of the others. That’s just personal opinion though. 1998Cam constantly shows pop ups telling you to upgrade and/or rate it 5 stars. It’s a filter app and honestly I’m searching for a better one right now with more filters similar to disposable camera lighting, as well as one that doesn’t constantly try for money. In my opinion also if an app is trying to force you to upgrade consistently it’s probably not doing well with downloads and needs the extra money.

I really like 1998Cam, the filters are all really nice and you get a good selection of them without having to pay. The quality of them is also great, all the pictures I’ve taken with it have come out amazing.
The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is that after the first few days, for some reason it stopped mirroring the front camera. After I take the picture it will flip it so it’s mirrored, but not when I just have the camera on (basically the opposite of what the standard iPhone camera does) I don’t know what changed, but I’ve messed with the “mirror front camera” switch and deleted and reinstalled 1998Cam , but to no avail. I don’t know if this is a feature or a bug, but I hope it gets fixed!

I enjoy the free filters. There’s plenty of nice ones to pick from and if you want extra ones you can purchase them but so far the free ones is good for me. If I use it more often later, I will definitely upgrade to premium features. I love 1998Cam , it’s easy to navigate through and brings my photos much more *aesthetically* pleasing. Please keep 1998Cam free and all the good options from the non-premium filters free as well. This will give many users more time to use and play around to see if they actually want to upgrade!

Or 5 other apps before this one, trying to find light leaks and many editing options without forced resizing or only being able to take a Live Photo not import.
Also many other apps barely have free items. This one is great so far. A lot of editing options and control. So much free also. Very happy with image. Can’t wait to see some printed

My first review for an app. I love it! I tried several “vintage” filter apps, most of which wanted an absurd amount of money or kept the better, more convincing features behind a paywall. 1998Cam still lets you have plenty of options for free and creates pretty authentic looking results. Of course there is a paid upgrade / version which unlocks a lot more options, but as for now I am happy with the free options.

If you’re looking for a vintage effect for some photos, definitely give 1998Cam a try. You won’t be disappointed!

I never write reviews, nor do I necessarily believe the reviews but legit these reviews that I read and from what I’ve experienced, 1998Cam is very good and I hope it stays this good so it doesn’t get taken over by ads or so many items to buy. 1998Cam is perfect and I like that it makes its own little camera roll thing for its own photos

I never write reviews. And I never believe them either. I always think, who would bother wasting their time to write one without some sort of incentive, yano? But 1998Cam is actually so great that I feel inclined to write one for them. There’s ads, but their at the top, out of sight and not in the way. So many app these days you have to exit out of a million ads. But not this one. The presets are amazing. It’s free. I like there’s some presets that are locked where you have to buy them , but I’m not even sure, because there’s so many available that I haven’t even got to the end of the presets lol. So yeah, great app. Definitely recommend !

I would write more but I’m actually in the middle of playing with my 4 year old son outside. Taking pictures, blowing bubbles and enjoying nature. He’s been stuck in the house with mommy, who’s been holding it down. I love 1998Cam so much, you can use so many filters even if you don’t pay any money! 1998Cam takes photography to a new level. The only thing I would change is the adds, I am fine with some adds but I will find my self looking though my photos and an add popping up every time a scroll. Overall I definitely recommend 1998Cam 😁

I was hesitant at first. There are so many filter apps in the store and many aren’t worth the time. Or, aren’t unique. Or, kill image quality.

This one is different! Excellent feature set for editing an very realistic vintage filters.

It also saves original resolution!

You can do a lot for free, but I went ahead and paid for the pro upgrade to get video import. Pleased to say that video export is excellent too. I tried a 4k video, added filters, and exported. Still 4k!

Those who claim it’s not updating to pro after paying... mine did that too, but after quitting app and relaunching, the restore purchase button worked fine. I’ve install on my 3 devices (2 iPhones and an iPad - no issues restoring on any of them)

Highly recommended!!!

It has many black and white as well as color filters! Most of the filters look both fun and professional. It also doesn’t do that annoying auto-subscription thing. It lets you go premium if you WANT to go premium. 1998 Cam is one of my favorite apps, and one of my MAIN photo editing apps!

I made the purchase of 2.99 for pro status to edit my videos and such but every time I open 1998Cam it says I haven’t gotten it and keeps offering it to me, even though I made the purchase for it already. Please fix this. The transaction already went through to my bank account so I don’t know why it’s not working for your app. If you cannot find a solution then I would like a refund.

I was looking for an app that allowed you to import photos to edit, and 1998Cam allows it!! I find it more efficient to take pictures on my original camera and editing it on an app, which most require you to pay. However I also enjoy taking pictures on 1998Cam as it is quick, easy, and already prefilters the photos with nice lighting!

I’ve used quite a few vintage photo editing apps and I must say this is one of the best ones out there. It has a lot of great features and the best part is that it does not reduce the image quality (and even if t does it’s not noticeable). I highly recommend.

Suggestion to App Creators: It’ll be great if one could apply and stack up multiple filters in one edit instead of having to save the images and re-import. Thanks.

I have never been more satisfied with a photo editing app than i have this one! It is so user-friendly and easy to use, not to mention the innumerable amount of filters and editing tools! Its all very well put together and i have had no problems so far. Just a nit pick is the photos save at the very bottom of your camera roll instead of next to the unedited picture in your gallery, but I’m not too upset about that. The amazing outcome of the pictures makes up for it haha. 10/10 recommend.

If you’re a person who doesn’t want to use money on filters this is 1998Cam . I wanted a vintage look for my pictures. I tried tons of apps just to get the look. Every other app gives two sucky filters to use and the rest cost money, but 1998Cam was a game changer. 1998Cam is easy to use and have aesthetic free filters and other extra stuff. I recommend it to everyone.

Do yourself a favorite and download 1998Cam ASAP. Pay for $3 to unlock all of the features. As a photographer, I tend to overthink every editing process and posting to my personal social media wasn’t fun anymore. I love that there is a setting to randomly shuffle filters/light leaks/dust. You can still edit them in further detail as well. You can also create presets to use as well!! 10/10 app, I won’t go without it ever again!

I LOVE 1998Cam!!!! I have tried soooooo many other ones and they are extremely restricting. I have always used Camera + for my editing and I loved all the options, but it doesn’t do vintage photos. I am SO glad I found 1998Cam because it’s extremely amazing and I can’t tell you how happy I am because all of the other ones I tried required $10 premium subscriptions for using more than 2 filters. REDICULOUS. But not this one. So many options, every look is amazing, and it’s a breeze. PLEASE DONT CHANGE 1998Cam ITS PERFECT.

This is honestly the best vintage style picture taking/ editing apps I've used (and I've used plenty). Most of the popular ones that everyone uses, you would have to pay extra to import pictures form your camera roll, but not this one! And not only that, they have so many options from filters, to dust, to light streaks - AND they don't bombard you with adds. I truly love 1998Cam and think it deserves more recognition :)

Bought pro version through an in app purchase and 1998Cam has not updated. In app so store it does not show as a purchase and I haven’t been charge for it. I’ve even updated it through the store. Deleted 1998Cam and re installed. No change. 1998Cam is still saying I need to upgrade to pro. So far a waste. I like it but it’s not worth the hassle.

And the developers website is worthless and looks bogus. The text is a bunch of gibberish.

So if nothing changes I’ll just delete 1998Cam . It’s a waste of my time.

Really love 1998Cam . 1998Cam was working perfectly fine, but after sometime it had a problem saving pictures. It says "could not save image. please try again". I have reinstalled 1998Cam and tried again, but still having the same issue. Is there any solution for this?

I enjoy this especially because it’s a lot included for being just a basic user and not a premium user. I really enjoy the vintage photography era because it was so complex, as to now a days everything is with just one button. You’ve included a lot though and I believe it’s such a good idea to use this technology to advance the past and see what it was like. Thanks!👍🏽

So far 1998Cam is good. It has nice filters and I’m happy we don’t have to pay for them because if we did I probably would’ve deleted 1998Cam . I’m to new to 1998Cam to know how it actually works though:)

It has plenty of filters to choose from, which you can apply to the picture before or after taking it. It adds other things like “dust” “light leak” “vignette” which you can still edit and make your own.💕

I could spend hours editing and re-editing photos, or I could just let 1988 take care of all the heavy work, and then focus on the fine details. Love 1998Cam, and the pro is cheap and amazing.

1998Cam is so easy to use and has a huge selection of filters. Definitely my favorite app to use to edit my pictures. You can even choose to keep the date stamp or remove it. Highly recommend!

1998Cam is very cheap and if you buy the premium you won’t have to buy it again or pay for it monthly it’s a one time thing! The filters are amazing and so are the details it honestly is so vintage I really advise people to buy the premium it’s $2-3.

Finally one of the camera apps I will use all the time. As a photographer myself I genuinely love the 80s-90-00’s feel of things and like this is gonna make it even better!
