Pictionary Air Reviews

I attempted to install, uninstall, and reset my phone. PictionaryAir will not load beyond the initial “Mattel“ screen and the blue circle. Based upon other reviews, I called Mattel at the one 800 number they listed – after being on the phone for 32 minutes they told me there is nothing they can do... The pen is so glitchy, it doesn’t draw although the button is pressed. We turned off all lights, changed the positions and nothing helped. I was so excited to get this game, but we’ve never been able to play a single round. The camera/video glitches and buffers so much it makes it impossible to play the game. It’s more like still pictures every couple of seconds than a stream of video, and the camera doesn’t pick up any of the wand’s ... Show more drawings. We’ve tried it on Wi-Fi, off Wi-Fi, on different devices, updating our IOS, and nothing works. It’s so frustrating. Wasted $30 on this since we’ve never been able to get PictionaryAir to work well enough for a single round. So disappointed.

How is this fun? You can’t see what you’re drawing , it doesn’t make it “hilarious” it makes it stupid and frustrating. The pen also just magically draws scribbles by itself on the side of your page while you’re trying to draw your picture. Which makes it hard to guess what you’re drawing. And when... Show more you advertise that you can “cast” using a casting/streaming device your lying. It’s called mirroring the screen and it’s also dumb. I would never have bought it if I knew it could truly cast . Waste of money and time. The original Pictionary is way more fun . I’d give it no stars if it would let me.

Neat concept, but not even playable. Team mode just uses rear. Am of my iPad Pro and has no option to switch to front camera. Funny thing is that it works in selfie mode, but not in the normal game play mode, so useless :(. Please fix Mattel!

But I think it would be a simple and easy way to add an extra mode of gameplay, especially for younger folks, etc to be able to play a mode where they can see what they are drawing.

Two crucial problems with PictionaryAir. First, inexplicably it only supports portrait mode, even though it’s intended for mirroring to a larger screen and every single television panel IN THE WORLD is landscape mode. Minor annoyance, PictionaryAir erratically loses sight of the pen when the drawer moves it quickly. Lines are lost or chopped up into segments unless people are conscious about slowing down.

My sister got this game for Christmas, and we were so excited to play, but it turned out we needed to buy a chromecast to set it up to the TV and another wand to play properly during the All-Play. Show more lated, not “Muggle” items and one little picture on the side of something Harry Potter. Kinda lacking creativity there. The wand also kept leaving little scribbles and lines in the air.
With all of that said, it is a good concept, and a fun game, but I don’t know if it’s worth it because of all of the extra work and cost to set it up.

Played for the first time last night. Had a lot of fun but some fixes need to be made.
The instructions say you can say “clear” to clear the screen, but this never worked. Had to pick up the phone and do it manually every time.

For instance, press the button a set number of times for next round, clear, or to stop because someone guessed correctly.
If I could mount the phone somewhere, and play out a whole game without having to touch the phone again, this would be one of the greatest games ever!
Also, a free play mode would be cool, where there is no timer, just a big blank screen to draw, clear with the pen, and draw again.

The game is fun and have the drawing show up on the tv screen for everyone to see is fun.
But some flaws:

The camera lighting can’t adjust so if the camera accidentally picks up a dark space in the room it will stay dark and make it hard to see the player.

When trying to see wha... Show more t ur drawing on the TV, it’s mirrored, for example, if I draw a line to the left it will go right on the screen, so it’s really hard to draw. Selfie mode is much better because you can look at your phone screen and it will draw correctly and make it much easier to draw what you’re trying to, but you can’t play the game in selfie mode!!

With more features and more mode options PictionaryAir will be successful

The game was very fun (along with a few technical glitches), and the only problem that I really had was the drawing wand. The stick has obvious resemblance to a dildo, and I’m not sure if that was overlooked or ignored. I recommend for future games that things like this be more carefully considered... This game is awesome, I 100% recommend it! Just there is some things I would fix:

this is a really fun game since you don’t know what your drawings look like, and it’s funny! I totally recommend it!
I like how it comes with a smaller box inside to store it, it saves space and it’s original.

Show more downloaded PictionaryAir again and I thought “ok this is working so far,” and then when I started to play the game with my family and when were drawing it would let us draw, but then it would like draw a bunch of squiggles and lines all over the screen and everything and we kept on trying to fix it by erasing it, but NOTHING happened.
I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong or if there’s a glitch? I have not idea🤷🏼‍♀️

I got this game for Christmas and I never got to playing it until now because I thought the 8+ on the box meant at least 8 people and not at least 8 years old to play. 1) Enable a landscape mode in app. When screen mirroring via Apple TV, majority of TV is wasted by portrait-only mode.

I am so blown away by how cool this is! The commercial doesn’t even do it justice, which virtually never happens, right? Right. Plus, it is just as much fun for adults as it is kids (even the teenage grumpy ones😏😉)

This is soo cool! I received it as a gift for my birthday. I’m eleven, but anyone six and up can use this. This game is so much fun. This is like for people who don’t know how to draw. And if a lot of people guess your drawing that means your good at drawing pictures. or right smack-dab in the middle of the screen. to make it even MORE frustrating, i wasn’t even drawing with the pen! it seemed like whenever i moved the device, it would scribble all over the screen.

it was very frustrating because if PictionaryAir didn’t even work, buying this so-called “2020 game award winner” is a rip-off. my recommendation is to not go to the store and waste $20 on a pen and cards, and to not download this crummy app along with the pen and cards. thanks mattel, for absolutely nothing!

I’m using an iPhone, but don’t have an Apple-tv, so unfortunately I have to use an hdmi connection which bring the device too close to the tv, try standing between the phone and the tv to draw, don’t work! PictionaryAir worked perfectly for us. We had so much fun!!! Loved watching the videos afterward and seeing all the crazy things we drew. Had no problems at all. Used an iPad. Thank you, this was a great modern take on a classic game! :-)
