Out of 1,739 reviews, EVERY single person gave ScaryStory 5 stars regardless of the complaints they have. Was there some kind of “Get ScaryStory for free if you rate us 5 stars” bribe I missed? Don’t get me wrong, the only story I’ve been able to read since I downloaded it yesterday wasn’t that bad. However, the problem I have is with the “10 minute” wait time. It seems like the time only counts down when ScaryStory is open. During the very first wait, I went to another app to kill time and after several minutes or so I went back to ScaryStory and only 30 seconds had passed. I thought I was going crazy but I paid more attention the other times and sure enough, the time hardly moved. Has no one else experienced this or not have an issue with it? I’ve read many reviews and it wasn’t mentioned by one person (although, I didn’t read all of them because there are just way too many) but judging on 1,739 5 stars I’m guessing no one else has this issue. Also, I didn’t get very far in the story before the wait time came up so that was also disappointing. If these 2 issues weren’t issues I may just rate it 5 stars but if it continues I may just end up deleting it instead.

Ok so most people on here are having the same problem I am the story gets you into a story and then cuts ya right off. The creator of ScaryStory put an add asking to rate the game and after that it cuts you off! So the creator off this game wants you to buy the rest of your story... how stupid. I gave this a 1 star rating for that reason. And also I have it a one is because I don’t want the creator to get paid for making you buy the game... I deleted it and I don’t know if that’s what the creator thought was going to happen but that’s probably what’s mostly going to happen... unless the creator can fix it then I MIGHT re download it

So, once you load it, it makes you accept their Privacy Rules. If you don’t ScaryStory shuts down on you. You can tap on any Text Story, but you won’t get far long. Immediately, it asks you to purchase ScaryStory for a week for $4.99, a month or a year. You don’t even get to try one story, but they expect you to pay without knowing! I tried three different stories, not even 35 texts later (maybe less) you are prompted to pay, now matter what. I mean, I don’t mind paying after I’ve tried something for a longer time, but this is ludicrous. The stories aren’t bad. They’re catchy, but the price is somewhat steep for a fairly new App. I think it could lower the price and let the reader finish one of the text stories at least once.

I love the story's in Better than hooked they definitely keep you Better than hooked! The only thing with Better than hooked is that I'm kind of angry that you have to wait about twenty minutes to finish the story and I would like it better if we didn't have to wait for it. Over all, I do recommend ScaryStory to everyone all though it may be unsuitable for younger people. That's why I give ScaryStory five out of five.

The stories are absolutely fantastic, engaging and entertaining. BUT. They’re really pushing for their premium membership. There’s pictures and (maybe?) phrases that are cut out unless you pay. There’s a timer that, when it runs out, you gotta wait 10 minutes until you can continue reading. Running ads would have been much better than this.
On top of that, the premium membership ship costs $20 a MONTH. It’s literally insane. I get that businesses need to make money, but what is this? EA? Currently weighing pros and cons of uninstalling.

Ok so, when I start to read a story it makes me wait 10 minutes but you have to be in ScaryStory for the clock to pass because I went to fortnite and started playing a match and then I get back on ScaryStory and like 2 minutes have passed. Not only that some words are covered up by like a picture of an eye and it makes you pay to see what the person said and I honestly don’t recommend ScaryStory because like a person will ask a different question then I can’t read it then they move on to a whole new convoy and I don’t know what the question is and I thought the pic was showing up because my phone was glitching but no it was ScaryStory making you pay

You should download ScaryStory because you get to read some interesting stories! Some can be about drama, Creepy, Romantic, Mystery, and also Comedy! I love ScaryStory because whenever I’m bored all I can do is read stories that interest me and I can have a fantastic time! If you think ScaryStory is boring, try it out and see what you think now. 😏 if you download ScaryStory I hope your having an awesome time! ❤️

I gave this a three star because I used to have ScaryStory about a year ago and it was free. I absolutely loved the stories! I hate how ScaryStory makes you pay to read the stories. I hope that you don’t have to pay in the future. If the owner(s) of ScaryStory change the money situation I will definitely leave a better review. If you don’t want to pay money to read a story I suggest getting a different app.

I like ScaryStory. It leaves you wanting to read more every time. The only downside is that if you don’t want to purchase the membership, you have to wait 30 minutes to get more texts. Overall I recommend ScaryStory. Better than hooked also has a variety of different genres of stories, so no matter what you’re in the mood for, you will always find something.

I love reading the story’s. I get so in to them and just makes me feel like I’m there. I could read a thousand of them but then my phone dies😂. they make me happy, sad ,scared ,and every feeling you have felt it is so amazing. My favorite has to be romantic. It get me excited and just happy. Your app is amazing and the person who created ScaryStory is amazing. I hope you like my report.

I love ScaryStory, very good and very addicting and why isn’t there an option to watch videos to unlock instead of waiting... I have other similar app and you can watch videos to unlock... plz create an option to watch to unlock, I don’t want and can’t wait to finish my story.

I loved it I don’t want to pay, please let have an option to watch videos for unlocking...
In the meantime I might’ve to delete ScaryStory .

This fake 5.0 rating is an insult to the integrity of ScaryStory Store and Apple should ban these developers for doing whatever evil it is they did to swindle this fraud. ScaryStory is horrific. I don’t even know where to start on the problems with ScaryStory. To give a taste of the thoughtless design here, every single time you tap to go to the next message your phone buzzes, and there’s no way to turn it off. I don’t know what the heck they were thinking when they decided to make it like that. Who wants to get continually buzzed as they try to read a story? All downhill from there.

I rate this a five star because it does hook u to The point where you don’t want to stop reading and sometimes the stories are scary but that’s what keeps on making people read them more and more. There is a story called life of the party and it’s really good I would totally recommend it has five episodes but it’s really cool so go download ScaryStory .

I gave you guys a four star rating because I think you shouldn't have the your out of hoots it's a reading app you should read freely and yes I understand that's how you get you're money but I'm broke I can't afford to pay this stuff and I hate it how it just cuts me off but I love ScaryStory it's great actually I changed the four rating to a five rating!

Granted I've only read the horror versions of the story's, but every episode is super short so its not like reading a whole book, and they are all really interesting, it's like watching the twilight zone but it's more modern, and it's a great source of horror stories for the camp fire, at first I was skeptical but I'm glad I took the risk,

Don’t get me wrong i love ScaryStory but why is it making me wait 10 minutes so i can buy from them when i don’t want to buy please fix this i really didn’t want to delete it but its making wait 10 minutes to pay what if you don’t want to pay like for a year to see pics it use to be 200 something please fix this it is really stupid like why?

I love ScaryStory. Its kinda the only app I use more often out of all the other apps I have. I think you should get it if ur debating about it. U can always log out of the story and change to a different one. I just love ScaryStory let’s be real here this is the best app compared to the other apps.

I downloaded Better than hooked to see if anything was different than the last time I had it and it changed it definitely changed but that’s the good thing there’s more stories there’s different kinds of stories and it’s still really amazing app to usen

I love this story app but I can’t right my own stories even when I try to click on my profile it won’t come up it says you can’t access this problem will be fixed soon and I’ve been waiting for so long. Help

This game is awesome it has the best stories ever some of them are funny some of them are serious I’ve read two so far now I’m on my third one it’s really cool I’ve never wrote a review before this is my first time doing it and I like How they put a owl in between the two letters O in it it’s really cool so yeah I also rated five stars

Interesting idea, neat concept, but it seems unfinished. Choosing the "wrong" choice should result in a longer trip down the wrong path, as opposed to a simple "bad move, agent" alert and chance to retry. More consequences would be interesting. Also, the 3hr "wait to unlock" periods after chapters. It slows storyline and gameplay, completely ruining the narrative. You can pay to unlock the next chapter, which I haven't bothered to do. I just exit ScaryStory , and eventually remember to check back later. And finally, the text conversations: less profanity, more descriptions, please. Have the agent describe the scenes to his contacts. While that's not how people talk, it would enhance the scene in the player's mind to have notes like "it's cold here; the pedestrians are bundled against the rain," "I've never seen a place so crowded," etc. -- All in all, solid potential, and I'd encourage the developer to keep trying at this project. I'm still playing this game, I want to see how it ends.

Ok , This Is An Amazing App With Many Amazing Features ! Although, There Are Many Things I Think Could Be Corrected . When I Do Stories That Are A Little Long The Sound Goes Out , And ScaryStory Starts To Glitch ! I Think That’s My Only Major Problem . Other Then That , I Think You Guys Should Take The Prices Off Of The Other Things Like Pictures For The Person And The Different Color Text Messages ! That’s Also Something I Don’t Appreciate Because Everyone Doesn’t Have Money On Their Phone . Other Then This, ScaryStory Is Amazing With Many Different Things To Do ! But I Hope You Read This And Put It To Mind On What You Would Do To Improve This ! LOVE ScaryStory ! (except for its glitch’s and payments)! I Also Really Love The Way The Things We Have To Play For Aren’t Out Rages Like Unable To Be Paid ! But Other Then That, THXX hope you take this into consideration ! XOXO !

I have had ScaryStory for about 2 years now, and I love it! I used this all the time, it was one of my most used apps! I stopped playing it all the time, like maybe 4 days and that’s all, and I have seen the updates, there great! But one thing that has been bugging me ever since I started using ScaryStory, is how much space it takes up, not ScaryStory it’s self, but the videos! I have removed over hundreds of pictures, and 50 or more videos, that’s a big reason why I don’t use it as much, it’s still a great app in general! Also I have a problem with how time it takes to download it onto my IPad, my IPad was at 20 and when it was done loading, it was at 5! ScaryStory is great, the prices are ok, but the downloading and space it takes is the only bad thing about ScaryStory.

I\'ve been looking for an app like this for the longest time! I downloaded Hooked, but deleted it immediatley and downloaded Texting Story right away! My best friend and I can\'t get enough of it, we read all the time! We beg our teachers to let us read! However, the latest update is not so good. I love ScaryStory , definetley download it if you don\'t want to pay for hoots on Hooked. But if you do download, don\'t get the latest update, it improved speed and bug fixes, but reuined the stories. It makes the bar at the top stay there and makes the boxes square. The new update is strange. Other than that, I absolutley love Texting Story, download it!

I love the idea of a text based story app, but most of them cost money. This one doesn't - pro. However, you cannot save drafts of your stories and come back to them - you have to immediately publish them. Also, if you make typos and accidentally click "add" for the text, you can't fix it. Furthermore, most of the stories on here are utter trash. Many of them aren't even stories and the ones that are aren't sorted into the right categories. And there are too few categories. This could be something great, but it isn't yet.

Amazing but I hate how you have to wait and if you don’t want to wait you have to pay money and I don’t think that’s fare but whatever it’s very fun over all and it’s a great time killer and consumer it’s great if you want to get scared before bed and amazing if you hate reading and like electronics you honestly feel like your not reading and just texting there kind of the same but.....it’s great for car trips .... uses a little bit of battery for me not sure about you but it’s cool ❤️🙂

I think that this is so absolutely Cool because like you can make story and I watch and I made like a bunch there’s one called LOL one and then there’s another one called LOL too and I just love it it’s so fun and also it’s add free And what is at three I love that because I don’t have any Advil I hope you guys like it to and it’s really fun and so like yeah it’s really fun and went like but when you put it into Preston me like if it is John out

There should be a way to send pictures in the texts to add more and a custom contact picture for the text so like when you switch to the other person it would show the contact picture to the person their texting to . other then my ideas on how to improve ScaryStory I personally think it’s one of the best apps I could ever own
