SportCam - Video & Scoreboard Reviews

It’s a great concept, but to be fully useful for sports streaming it will need additional functionality added. For example, the option to adjust the time to a downward counting clock, setting how long a period is in minutes, and for Ice Hockey adding penalty clocks, or at least showing when a team is down 1 or 2 players due to a penalty. I’d also like the option to add my logo watermark into the bottom right hand corner, and the team logos to the scoreboard. Keep developing SportCam and it could be REALLY good, and your timing is bang on with Covid and how many people are streaming youth sports!

We upgraded to pro and something with our log in got screwed up (because you can login using multiple users such as FB, Google, etc) and you can’t logout! Em, what? Contacted support and they said they do not have this feature yet. Also, even if you upgrade to pro, the team name character limit is SO small. Lastly, SportCam only integrates with Apple Watch but not other watches like Garmins.

I used SportCam last hockey season and it worked really well. They have added some functionality to SportCam this year but now I am having continued issues with SportCam crashing. I had no issues for an entire season last year and this year l, through 6-7 games, I am having continued issues. Very frustrating.

The new update has a TON of potential (sharing remote scoring on iPad causes crash). SportCam also does not keep the phone alive, so you have to babysit.

That being said, the scoreboard graphics and intuitive app usage is awesome. Remote scoring is a huge upgrade (looking forward to Apple Watch integration). The ability to choose what camera you stream from also enables wide-angle viewing for sports that benefit from it (racquetball, squash, etc). Huge upgrade over Facebook in general.

Big upgrade would be able to increase stream quality (or post-stream HD upload)

Why two stars? Streams won’t last past 2 min. Hard to use for now. Once this gets fixed, easy 4-star app.

I love SportCam and is great in most scenarios except it wont allow me to post to a facebook group anymore, only to a fan page or personal profile/wall.
I would also like to see a mini scoreboard add to modify player totals while filming

Love SportCam but lots of venues have no WiFi or cell signal and want to record to phone ONLY. Can you add this as option do you don’t have to select a streaming service!! Thank you!

This is a great ap. Love the fact that it lets me mute when doing Facebook live. The scoreboard feature and timer is great but it is so big it obscures view at time. Wish there was a way to resize it or have size options

I previously used SportCam to stream volleyball games to Facebook. When I attempted to stream this season SportCam crashes every couple minutes. Then I have to resume the stream and enter the points again. SportCam would be 5 star if it would simply work as advertised. If this is fixed I will adjust the review.

I want to broadcast ice hockey which uses a stop clock timing for the game.
It seems if I stop the clock in this app, it actually pauses the broadcast. Can there be a “pause clock” option that doesn’t stop the broadcast? Or am i missing something?

So far I have enjoyed SportCam but really wish they had a zoom slider for more smooth zoom while filming

This would get a 5 star review if it also had baseball on it as well.

This is such a cool app. But, unfortunately if you want to see what you’re streaming, you’re out of luck. The user interface completely covers up what you’re filming. An option to hide the UI would make SportCam brilliant.

Purchased Pro, but can not use the features. The customer service is terrible. No phone number to call, no one responded your email. Think twice before hitting the purchase button.

SportCam used to be so amazing and I loved it. But it no longer allows you to stream to Facebook so I have no use for it.

I keep checking back to see if it is fixed but no luck

I see others are having the same issues. I hope if someone figures out a solve they will post the fix

I contacted customer support and they did not know what I was talking about. This after I used the product successfully for over 2 years

The setup and help screens are missing so much information and the text is cutoff. It’s impossible to understand what the screens are trying to tell you.

My sound is like fuzzy I dint know how to fix it.

Not able to using Scoring function with Apple Watch only another Apple iPhone or iPad. ☹️

Is there a way to turn off the dialogue box? I’d prefer my ad libbing not be in writing ha

Overall, we like SportCam , but the video is a little fuzzy. That could be our Wi-Fi in our gym. I also got a little fuzzy video from my 4G mobile hot spot for an outdoor game. Does anyone else get a fuzzy video?

PLEASE ADD A MUTE BUTTON! We really like the on-screen scoreboard, but we would like to mute the audio during timeouts and halftime. Would you please post an update with a mute button when you are able? That would keep background music from going over and risking copyright notices from Facebook and YouTube.

One more thing: the clock runs up only unless I overlooked something. Is that supposed to happen? We don’t use the clock for that reason.

Giving 3 stars because the latest update causes SportCam to fail as follows: 1) the local recording seems to not work anymore, 2) when stopping the livestream to Facebook fan page, SportCam appears to stall in closing but is actually still live-streaming live video until you force-quit SportCam . SportCam was working fine prior to this update.

Update: these feature issues appear to happen in larger videos. Short videos seem to work okay.

I don’t know what changed but for the past week my games don’t actually post to my Facebook page. Everything seems fine/normal while streaming but then when I later look for the video on my Facebook page it’s missing, was never there. One change I made was to go into my settings and turn off the microphone for SportCam. Anyone else having this experience?

I recorded an important game and live-streamed. At end of game I pressed “stop recording” and got message that app was closing/finalizing. Guess what? it didn’t - it continued to record my trip to other locations “live” for another 15 minutes until someone told me about it. Thank goodness I placed my phone camera side down in one of those locations. Not a positive experience. Make sure you close out app at end and have someone check your live stream to make sure!

Only saved half of daughter’s volleyball games to device. Stopping the streaming seems to lock up SportCam about half the time as well. This looks to be an issue with SportCam reading the most recent reviews. Remote scoring worked great. Wish there were options for different placement and type for scoreboard. The settings and controls we easy to figure out. Overall seems like it would be great, but the fact that it is unreliable when saving to device is a no go.

SportCam generally is really good for streaming. However, it's extremely buggy. I've paid for Pro as I believe in supporting software companies for useful apps. Remote referee hasn't been working in months. Saving locally doesn't work literally at all so I miss out on high quality locally saved video of games. I've tried for months to work with their support but the bugs persist.

Second season using this app for our volleyball club. Last year it worked fairly well. We could stream to our Facebook page and store videos on the phone for review later. Since the latest IOS update, streaming to Facebook takes multiple attempts, videos won’t store locally, and repeated requests to customer service have gone unanswered. A great idea but a horrible app.

If you have a strong wifi/cellular signal, SportCam works great. Otherwise, you’re better off just using FB live. Without a strong signal, SportCam freezes a great deal compared to using FB live. The worst part is, it will freeze when you’re done recording and won’t save to your device.

Mine stopped working after the recent update that was done 3 days ago. I’m unable to stream to groups that I’ve been streaming to for over 6 months. Please work on a fix.

SportCam is pretty easy to use. I wish you would offer the smart watch app for Apple Watches. But other than that I can’t complain…

App is good but for buy pro with issues not well. Control dont work correctly using ipad pro 2021 and iphone 14 pro. Additional need to improve sponsor space if going to charge for use SportCam . 1 sponsor is no good and add video o slide show. In that resolve in future i will like to used.

Love SportCam for streaming games where fans at home can see the score while watching the game. The only concern I have is SportCam is not recognizing my Pro subscription. I’ve sent an email to the support contact , but no response yet.

What a great app for youth sports. It’d be great to have 3 sponsor slides. Full remote control with all the same controls as the main screen would be great. Just add the categories of “half”and “final” to the period list. Then it’s great. Allow for team logo in scoreboard and you’ll be perfect. Thanks.

Would like the scoreboard and clock of SportCam to merge with the screen graphics options of “wirecast go”. Layered graphics options and ability to add graphics from photo library during stream.

I think SportCam is great but I would like for me to able to edit text on the free version and I can’t edit it because it’s on premium but other than that I think SportCam is great and cool!

Honestly, this the best sports live streaming app. Being able to use logos & photos makes your live stream look like the real deal. My only wish is that they find a way to incorporate Apple Watch for scoring.

I’ve been using SportCam for couple months now and it stopped recording before I pressed the stop button. Not sure how that happened because I kept checking the timer and it was still recording, but it did and missed an important part in my daughters game. Is there a time limit on how long we can record? Other than that, I like SportCam.

Ive been using app like for a yr or so i have more than a month that i cant login i payed for pro features and it keeps saying my account its alteady qith a facebook account indont use other fb accounts i made all trouble shooting still dont work more disappointing is that i sent emails to support and facebook i just dont get a reply loved SportCam would love to use it but its not working ill change my stars but how if I Cant used it

I trialed SportCam for a weekend and it worked fine. Purchased annual for rest of season. First weekend with full purchase nothing worked and got Zero support despite sending in screen shots and errors. Finally I ended up deleting Facebook and App and reinstalling. It started broadcasts but the end people couldn’t see anything at all. Support said nothing until I asked to cancel and even then ignored my logs and screen shots and acted dumb. DO NOT BUY.

SportCam works great for broadcasting live sports events. There is one thing that it’s missing. A replay system. I wish that you could replay clips instead of having to go back to the regular stream.
