NovelReader - World of Novels Reviews

There is a wide expanse of novels ranging from all genres and English JP CN or KN and it is a very enjoyable experience reading as it soothing to the eyes, and the downloading feature is extremely nice. As well the lack of ads is very nice of course there will be one every there and again but it’s around every like 15 chapters which if your going for that long is very minimal. One critique I do have is I wish there was a way for NovelReader to differentiate what chapters we’ve read compared to just having the download symbol which kinda shows you, but if u mass download like me which during school I have no service it is quite annoying in the case I do press on a different chapter by accident or by purpose which makes my continue reading button stay on that chapter rather than where I was actually reading. Besides this minimal fact very good app 5/5!

I absolutely love NovelReader, it’s so convenient and I love that they are constantly adding new novels everyday! There’s always an interesting novel I can read on here without having to pay like other such apps and websites. There is one problem I’ve been having for the past 2 months or so. NovelReader won’t “connect” to any data whatsoever. Whether it’s WiFi or cellular, it won’t work. I keep seeing this invalid session token, whatever it is, and I can’t “connect” to NovelReader . Ads still show, and I can still read the stories I have in my library, but other than that, nothing else works. Please have this problem fixed, I recently read an amazing webcomic called “Solo Leveling” (on NovelFull it’s called “I Alone Level-Up”) and found out that it has a light novel on NovelFull. I’m not comfortable with reading this on any other platform besides NovelFull so I’d really appreciate it if you could fix this problem! ❤️

I personally have been using NovelReader for about two years now and I live it. Wether it’s the low ads the wide variety or fast updates all are available for free here. I personally like using the Siri read to you voice that NovelReader offers to multitask reading and doing other things which just further boosts my love for NovelReader . The only slight inconvenience I’d say is that while it reads to you instead of saying “Lunatic” it say “Luin-x1b+$” which was funny at first but a lot of the time in novels that use the word as a form of address it just gets slightly annoying. However as I stated before this is only a slight inconvenience and overall I still HIGHLY recommend NovelReader of your getting into Chinese, Japanese or Korean novels, or are already reading them.

I am hooked on reading translated Chinese novels and NovelReader simply has made them easier to access and read.

There is one flaw: to improve accessibility, it would be nice if the iOS feature to read a page (text to speech) automatically moved to the next page so that you can listen to the novel continuously. Currently, I have to turn on reading a page after every turn of the page.

Kindle and Apple Books and PDF books allow iOS to convert text to speech and read the book aloud continuously by turning the page for you. So I would like NovelReader to be able to do the same. This would make it so much easier for a sight-impaired user to read the books. It would also make it much easier for anyone who loves iOS Text to Speech feature to listen to books.

NovelReader is financed by adds not some odd payment plan line Webnovel’s where 90% of the novel is locked behind a paywall. You can read those same novels here, and for free. To be honest I don’t mind paying money for a good novel it also keeps me from wasting my time on trash too much but yeah. This is the best Webnovel reader for the North American market I’ve found for iOS well done, good layout, fast search, clean reader. Ads are annoying but better then having to pay 40 dollars for 1000 sprit stones or whatever. A problem is the glitches in scrolling. All of the time, the scroll seems to jump back to the point before, especially when using scrolling inertia that Apple uses. Please fix otherwise no complaints.

I previously had a complaint on the fact that some novels seemed to have been missing, but nowadays all those novels are back plus more. I’m glad this was remedied because NovelReader is amazing. It has a pretty big collection, so you won’t be getting bored anytime soon. Also as this is a free app, ads are to be expected, but the ads are not intrusive at all compared to the other novel apps. This was my main gripe and NovelReader gets it right. Finally one thing that I really appreciate is the customizability of how you want your reading experience. Overall my favorite app for passing time reading novels.

So I completely love the convenience of NovelReader. I can live with the ads just fine and the selections are great. My only problem is that unlike the website, some light novels are not updated or doesn't exist in NovelReader . Such as birth of the demonic sword. In NovelReader it stops at 670 while the website is up to 784 currently. And Renegade immortal is on the website, just not on NovelReader . So I'm forced to stop using NovelReader and go to the regular website. It's not a huge deal breaker, but like I said, I enjoy NovelReader for the convenience of reading.

Also there is a glitch when reading a novel on vertical where it's jumps up some paragraphs or previous paragraphs. I have to close NovelReader a few times to fix it or continously hold the screen so it doesn't jump. Still, not a deal breaker for me.

I only recently got into light novels and the like and truth be told I’ve only read one series on NovelReader and in total. But dang you guys please get NovelReader if you like light novels. Tons of them for free with a really good UI and there are adds but they’re like irregular and only 5 seconds long. They aren’t long and excessive like some apps. Honestly just get NovelReader it’s the best one out of two I’ve tried but it’s really good and the content is a lot of it and easily accessible. Believe me when I say I never leave reviews and I’m only writing this one because I freaking love NovelReader it’s so good just do yourself and read light novels on here

Overall, NovelReader is amazing. Although they make finding Japanese novels harder than it should be, I can usually find whichever novel I am looking for.

There’s one thing I would like to see change. NovelFull does not use Apple’s media
controlling system (i.e. pause/skip controller). I use the book listening feature to listen to my favorite novels, but oftentimes I want to listen for over an hour, especially if I am listening to it before sleeping. They do have a timer, but it would be nice to be able to actually listen to it a for a couple hours longer and pause the book externally (via headphones) instead of it constantly running and loosing where I left off every single time.

I love NovelReader. I spend hours reading novels on NovelReader. There are only two problems I have with NovelReader. One is already mentioned a lot: more Japanese and Korean novels and two: I have this problem with NovelReader where sometimes it glitches. It’s kind of hard to explain, but when I’m scrolling, NovelReader will stop at one point in the novel and glitch me backwards to a previous text in the same chapter. And when I try to scroll back down it keeps glitching me back. It’s really annoying, but otherwise, NovelReader is great! Keep up the good work :)

Love NovelReader and the website, the only thing I dislike about it is some of the stories have grammatical issues or random text/numbers added in. I would still recommend NovelReader to others though.

Another thing to note is that if you’re using the audio function in NovelReader to listen to the book then certain words will completely glitch out the voice.. the one I’ve noticed to be the worst is the word “headache”.. I’ve also noticed that if you put a space between the last word, the period and a quotation mark it is read as “right double quotation mark” which ruins the flow of the audio and story.

I think NovelReader is great but would really appreciate if:

1. More korean web novels were included. There are a lot of Chinese shoujo novels but little korean ones. Rather, there are less female-targeted novels than male-targeted in general and most of the female oriented ones are variations of the classic plot development where a CEO falls for the average girl and family drama ensues. Please add more variations for the shoujo genre.

2. Adding more genres for the different origins of the novels (i.e. japanese, korean)

3. Adding organizing options to the library. I would like to be able to alphabetize my novel list and separate novels that have been updated.

4. More of a pet peeve than anything but I noticed that the font size slowly gets smaller as I go through several chapters. I have my text abnormally enlarged so that my blind eyes can read from a distance but after every so many chapters, I have to readjust it again. Not a major issue or anything but hope that this problem can be alleviated.

All in all great app. Just wish there were some minor improvements :)

NovelReader is wonderful and easy to use and understanding but a couple of days ago I got this message telling me to connect to the Internet when my wifi was working fine. Everytime I tried using NovelReader even till this day was not letting me read novels and starting from scratch even though I read 1000 plus pages and later I would lose my place in the novel. I don't of this is a bug or not but I really want to use NovelReader again to kick start my enjoyment of novels.

I’ve had some problem logging on to my accounts for the ability to post comments so I’ve been using the guest comment feature, which is great thanks for that, on the NovelFull app on IOS. Whenever I try to click the Facebook logo, google logo or the disqus logo nothing happens I don’t know if this was on purpose or not but I hope you fix it soon since it’d be easier than having to do the guest comments over and over. Thanks for working on NovelReader .

I would give it five stars if not the fact that I can’t even open NovelReader in the first place. I’ve been using it for weeks and was really happy with its performance, I can easily download books I’ve been wanting to read for months but couldn’t because of a monetary wall, it barely had adds which is a price I’m 100% willing to pay based on the content there giving out, and had a very friendly user base, but all of a sudden, I couldn’t even open NovelReader , I clicked it, it shows the logo and BAM I’m back at my home page. I’ve tried everything, deleting and reinstalling, shutting my phone off, and even turning on a VPN, but nothing works. Again it’s a great app and I would love to give it a 5 stars but I can’t. Thanks to the devs for making such a great app.

I love NovelReader bc I can find all the novels I want to read, but often times I will get an SSL error and cannot do anything on NovelReader besides read what I’ve downloaded previously. I can’t search things up, download new chapters, or roam the home page. It’s a little frustrating bc it can span the whole day, if not longer. I wish this issue would be fixed.

Also a new feature suggestion: a bookmark function! I would love to be able to bookmark certain pages/text and be able to go back to them. Sometimes I love to re-read my favorite passages again, but with NovelReader, it’s a little difficult to do.

NovelReader is definitely one of the best LN novel apps, it has a huge selection of novels and an easy to navigate interface. It does have ads, but those are super short and very few, which I don’t mind since I know people need to make money somehow. My only complaints would be the fact that some of the novels translations are awful- though it is pretty rare- and I wish that there was something that allowed me to know when it last updated so I would know if it was still being translated. Either way- it’s still the best by far and I highly recommend it.

Love NovelReader , so many reading options, easy to customize reading options. My biggest issue is that it keeps giving me an error when I am connected to WiFi. It says “Oops You’re offline. Please enable WiFi/3G/4G. Then reload!”. This only happens when I have WiFi on. If I want to load any more chapters I have to turn my WiFi off, and use my cellular data. Which is a no go.... but I am hooked on a particular novel... and it’s driving me bonkers! And even if I download the chapters, it won’t let me read them offline! What’s up with that? Please fix this issue! I love NovelReader and it’s what it can be used for, but I hate these program issue limitations!

I love NovelReader. Nice and easy way to get all the novels I want to read. I can download them too, I appreciate it tbh. The only thing is the points still were used even on already downloaded chapters, and I made the mistake of uninstalling and reinstalling to try and see if it would fix the queue. BIG MISTAKE. Got rid of everything, but it isn’t a big deal I don’t really need to read offline and I just went back to my book. Anyway, thanks again.

In the series I am reading (No game No life) the formatting is messed up really bad. Periods in the middle of words plus sign around the pages for no apparent reason. As well as some words just being straight up missing. I have downloaded and deleted the chapter. Nothing changed. NovelReader is great. It has a few major flaws that I can not get around. If you are thinking of getting app get it though. It is worth your while. There are ads here and there but none that are major. When I read another series I will make changes to see if this was online happening with NGNL.

Effectively the best place to read Xianxia & Wuxia novels on mobile! I almost gave up reading Apps after Wuxia World’s app stoped working and every other app I found had a broken search system... this is my go to, not only does it update before the other one I happen to still keep on my phone, it also gives me an actual black background when reading (instead of just really dark).

I completely recommend this one, and I hope it never changes.

First off I want to say I relied on Webnovel for my novel needs on IOS until I found NovelReader, it makes reading Light novels so much easier. My only issue is a few novels are missing form the website to NovelReader . For example Emorerors domination and Martial world are not available on NovelReader but are there on the website. Unsure if this is a glitch but would appreciate a fix or update. All in all amazing app and light years ahead of competition

So already wrote a review about a tab or option to shut off the error message when you have no internet and you replied that you added but all I’ve searched I couldn’t find in in the about section. Thank you for replying.

NovelReader is honestly great and well updated. The only thing that’s really bothersome is that after 50% of the ads the music from the ads keeps playing. This interrupts SoundCloud for me while NovelReader is open and the only thing I can do is reopen NovelReader . Only then I have to hope that I don’t get another ad that constantly plays music.

If the bug of ads that played constant music was fixed, NovelReader would be a 5.

Once I’m in NovelReader and WiFi turns off I can still read the books cause I downloaded them but once I go to school and open NovelReader WiFi not working, it’s not the book but NovelReader itself I could read the books offline it’s just won’t let me get into NovelReader without WiFi, I mean you can read books offline but it’s useless if you can’t even open NovelReader with no WiFi

NovelReader is really nice, it has all of the novels that I wanted to read and now I can spend more time reading each day but it would be nice if there was a way to check your progress on each chapter so you can know how close you are to finishing each chapter.

I'm not sure if NovelReader is related to readnovelfull(dot)com but the site has all the novels while NovelReader is missing a lot of novels. If this wasn't a problem, this would have been the perfect 5/5 app. Please fix!!!

NovelReader is really great it’s easy to use and the design simple yet elegant. There’s not Much comments for any novels so the users are not so active but navigation is really good. The main problem is that although the website is updated with new novels the apk isn’t and it’s really frustrating.

You’re kidding me right? Nearly all apps that have ads don’t even compare to what you guys are doing. You’re telling me I have to watch a full minute video to even enter? Compared to quick 5-15 seconds ads that people can click out of, I have to watch a full video without no option. Every time I click I’m forced to see the same video, the same one minute full video. I’d rather go on a website with ads than use an app that shoves it down people’s throats.

I like NovelReader and I’ve been using it for a while now. The newest update seems to have introduced a new bug. Chapters are now always incomplete. The last 10 or so words are always missing,

I read novels with scrolling on and some times the page flickers and the page scrolls down or up.

Page change by tap is already disabled.
Right now I am reading with page turn option and it’s hard to read like that.

Enjoying reading again, this is the 2nd app for novels I use, selection is limited since a lot of licensed works are not here, but still a few gems if you look for them.
