Religious content in latest story

As a predominantly English-speaking mother raising my child to be bilingual with her father and father's family speaking Spanish, I have loved LearningGames. It is beautiful and engaging. However, in the newest story Coqui I was surprised to see that the story discusses guardian angels. This would be fine if LearningGames developers disclosed in the description that there would be religious content from a Christian perspective, but they don't. Any religious beliefs should be left to a child's parents to introduce/discuss when they are ready, not to an app. Now I am concerned that more religious content may be introduced and will probably be ending our subscription, unfortunately. If an app will contain religious content, please be upfront and label it as such.

Story-Games Work When They Want

Unfortunately I paid full price for LearningGames. For several weeks LearningGames did work a was on a black screen. Now when I attempt to move forward with Coqui Miedo “word scramble” game it freezes and doesn’t move forward.

I really want to like this game but there are so many instances on which I feel like my money is wasted.

I love the stories, games and progress. But the constant bugs makes we regret spending such an amount of money.

Unable to subscribe

I was excited when I found out about LearningGames, because I really love the idea, and am a firm believer in the comprehensible input method of learning a language. Unfortunately, we have been unable to really use LearningGames .. After listening to the first story, it prompted us to subscribe in order to continue listening to the other stories. But when I tried to click on the subscribe button, it got stuck on the loading page. I tried restarting LearningGames several times, and attempting to subscribe, but each time it did the same thing. I then went to my apple account, under subscriptions, and it showed that I did in fact subscribe.. so then I went back into LearningGames , but it still showed that I had not yet subscribed… I have sent an email to the company to see if this issue can be resolved, but it didn’t give me a great first impression of LearningGames

Not what I expected

I am 26 and I got this Spanish Learning Game for myself to learn Spanish as a third language. I know about 50 Spanish words at the time I reviewed LearningGames, so I’m still a beginner, I think.

I thought it would be a point and tap adventure game where you would have to solve puzzles to progress, but the puzzles would all require knowing the Spanish language to solve. I also thought from the screenshots that I would have a player level associated with my file and have achievements to collect after starting a free trial. I was disappointed when I signed up for the yearly subscription with a week free trial and the gameplay was just reading a collection of picture books with audio recordings and there were no levels or achievements. There were mini games, but I felt like they were not part of the game flow at all. The matching games and spelling games which require understanding the story do not give any in-game rewards. When reading the books myself, I can say all of the words aloud to myself, but that does not necessarily mean I understand the content I’m reading. I get rewarded for reading the story, but not for proving I understood it through the mini games. I ended up deleting my account and cancelling my free trial after playing for about an hour because I did not feel like I was getting rewarded for the hard parts like the matching and spelling games.

Also, why am I collecting cards and stickers anyways? To study more words for the sake of it?

Homeschool Spanish made Easy!

First and foremost, we are bilingual homeschoolers - so we don’t take our language resources lightly. FabuLingua is an excellent, gentle way, to increase language learning in our homeschool. For me, it’s hands off and perfect independent study for my 8 year old. Instead of sitting down with him for Spanish, he can open LearningGames and pick up Spanish naturally. I’ve even heard his pronunciation improve due to the native speakers used for LearningGames recordings. For my son, it’s just fun immersive language learning and he really enjoys the stories and animated illustrations throughout the program. The gamified learning improves his recall and his desire to use the program. When it’s time for Spanish, I don’t have to tell him twice because he runs to grab his tablet to use FabuLingua!

Love how it teaches through stories!

I am a high school student and I love LearningGames. I find it so much easier to learn Spanish through stories. It helps me learn so much more vocabulary than with flash cards! Way more memorable and way more fun! The illustrations are so cute and fun that it helps you remember the story really easily. I love the CopyCat mode - it has been really good for my pronunciation. And I love that these stories are in a mobile game. I like collecting gold keys, opening the treasure chests and getting stickers and Pokémon style cards. I just discovered that in the update this weekend there is now a stickerbook to make cool images and collages with all the stickers I’ve earned. Super cool.

Truly unique. Highly recommended.

Our 4 year old is in a Spanish immersion daycare, but we speak English at home. Often, we’d try to read her Spanish/English books at bedtime, but she’s complain that she didn’t want the Spanish... only English - the traditional book medium seemed too boring and we, her parents, are too closely associated with English for her to accept our trying to teach her Spanish. LearningGames has given us a beautifully-designed, engaging way to meet her where she lives, in a digital format with fun characters that she spends hours playing with and learning from. It takes elements of the dress-up type apps she likes (but that are fairly mindless) and adds both an age-appropriate storyline and valuable language acquisition.

Now that we’ve gotten through all of the sections, we’re excited to see what new stories are on the horizon!

My students love Fabulingua!

I’m an elementary Spanish teacher in Austin, TX. As soon as my 2nd grade students started playing Fabulingua, I heard exclamations of “This is SO FUN!” and “I love LearningGames!” A bit of silence followed as they became immersed in the beautifully illustrated stories and games. Then, one by one, they started speaking Spanish phrases and sentences, mimicking the voice of the storyteller. My students are begging for more time with LearningGames, and the teacher dashboard allows me to see how much progress they have made within the stories, whether at home or at school. As an elementary Spanish teacher who has searched for an engaging and age-appropriate stories-based app for years, this fits the bill! ¡Estoy muy emocionada!

Amazing results for my children, highly recommend

My 3rd grade son was introduced to LearningGames through his teacher at the beginning of this year, and he loves it. He asks to play it after school, and my daughter has also started playing with it. We have no native Spanish speaking background, and I am blown away by how much they seem to understand in such a short time. They already speak better than I did after 4 years of highschool Spanish classes, and, as a parent, it is truly amazing to see your children succeed. Highly recommend this tool to other parents and teachers. Thank you!

Try it

Cons: one of the stories doesn’t work. (Tried everything refreshing &turning phone off and on) I even tried to contact the developer and there is no way to report a problem or ask how to fix it. I also wanted to ask if there are more then 5 places to visit available. But there is no way of knowing so I’m assuming it’s only 5 places to visit on the map. But the 5th place the last story no matter how much clicking it won’t load the story. —I wish there was more stories.

PRO: really love it overall. Recommend to try 10/10.

Smart, detailed, and highly engaging!

My 9 year old daughter has no prior Spanish experience, and she has already learned so much! There are so many layers of engagement written into this program that seem to approach all different types and ages of learners. The lessons are well-paced, and children of a variety of ages have opportunities to uncover more sophistication in all of the embedded vocabulary and usage hidden through the program. There are some games to check on your child’s overall comprehension in each lesson. And my daughter really enjoys the feature where she can practice her oral skills and record herself reading the stories in small chunks following the narrator. The story narrator has a clear voice with lovely pronunciation that seems to inspire my daughter to perfect her accent. The stories are very sweet with great illustrations and animations, and my daughter often laughs out loud at some of the characters and occurrences in the stories as she is learning. I highly recommend this educational app for children in a wide age range. This would also be a fantastic app for homeschoolers looking to incorporate Spanish into their curriculum.

Best app out there

We are a bilingual family, but my kids need to practice or they will lose their second language. This is the only effective language app out there. We have tried them all and this is the most accurate language learning app you will find. The characters are adorable and the ability to record their voices is such great practice and encouragement in their learning. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. I have a countered the occasional glitch but the team responds quickly and it’s always fixable.

Microschool use

I’ve chosen FabuLingua for our microschool because it aligns perfectly with our educational philosophy of following research-based practices for education. FabuLingua’s approach to language acquisition is rooted in proven methods, making it the ideal choice for our Spanish program. One of its key strengths is that it empowers students to learn independently, without the need for a dedicated Spanish teacher which is a necessity for our school at this point. Through LearningGames, our students are motivated and self-driven to succeed in learning Spanish.

Fabulous way to immerse in Spanish!

We were introduced to the beta test of Fabulingua while our kids were in Spain this summer and it made our Spanish language study so much more interesting and fun. The stories are adorable and engaging and the illustrations are beautiful.

The best part for my children, 8 and 11, was that the magical translations makes it easy to process sentence structure and how it varies from English to Spanish. Storytelling in this way helped them start “thinking” in Spanish. I’m excited to read more books with my family.

Well done app, excellent learning tool

Excellent, engaging, gets children speaking, so much to click on, very good customer service. Colorful app, really teaches good Spanish and not only “beginner words.” Very fun. A well developed app. No ads. Peaceful game too actually.
If you have any technical difficulties, check FAQ or contact the developer. They’re extremely helpful and responsive. Had a bug type issue and it was easily resolved without losing our progress. Awesome app! Thank you!

Amazing

We found out about the FabuLingua beta and it’s mission, and definitely wanted to give it a try with our children. We have always wanted them to learn a second language but there was never any interest from them at an early age. The characters and story curriculum have our children super engaged...and it is now a part of our daily lives. Keep all the great content coming!

Fantastic Spanish learning app for kids!

I recently downloaded FabuLingua for my 4-year-old son, and it has quickly become a hit in our house. LearningGames is perfect for Spanish language learning, specifically designed to grab the attention of young kids. The vibrant graphics and interactive stories keep my son engaged, making it super easy for him to learn Spanish while having fun.

FabuLingua is a lot like Duolingo but more kid-friendly, with storytelling and fun activities that are perfect for children. The stories are crafted to introduce new vocabulary and phrases in a way that feels like play. My son loves the colorful characters and enjoys repeating the words, which really helps with his pronunciation and memory.

As a parent, I love how FabuLingua uses a mix of listening, speaking, and interactive play—key for picking up a new language at this age. It's comforting to see my child learning essential language skills while having a blast.

LearningGames 's easy-to-use design means my little guy can navigate it on his own, which boosts his confidence and encourages him to explore more. With FabuLingua, my son is not only learning Spanish but also falling in love with language and storytelling. I'd definitely recommend LearningGames to any parent looking for a fun and effective way to help their kids learn Spanish.

Finally a bilingual app w/ stories!

We love LearningGames — So many visuals with super engaging stories! Its hard to find bilingual apps with actual stories. Also, it’s great to have an app that our 2yr old can do on his own, or we can interact with as a family. There are so many visuals that we can point out, or keep repeating at his own pace. Can’t wait for more stories as we grow into a bilingual family!

Dad to a 6 yo

My 6 yo been nagging me for several
Months now that she wants to learn Spanish to better communicate with Gemma her new kinder friend.
I’ve been looking furiously for a great option but until I found FabuLingua nothing worked well.
Several weeks later - my girl loves it AND is ssssooo much better in Spanish that am
Honestly quite shocked

*revised* I am so disappointed! Can not get to work.

LearningGames looks amazing, but I have spent a very very frustrating hour trying to get it to work! And when I finally switched devices to make an account and FINALLY got in, I got taken to a page with a Fox that never does anything but say “ah!” (…) Please fix the bugs because I’d love to use LearningGames

EDIT: I wrote the developers and send them a screen cap and they fixed the issues! Now it works beautifully and I am a happy subscriber. It’s such a great and engaging way for young kids to learn Spanish!
