A media player has no right to be this aggressive with advertising, this is pure rent seeking. There are more ads in this thing than your average third rate mobile game. But at least the mobile game dev performed a significant amount of work.
Seems like the app is just using pre built media packages and default menu formats, but they expect to be paid significantly for it. Ridiculous

Intrusive Ads

Listen, I understand that “free” apps often have to rely on ads in order to make a profit, but the ad timing on this app are incredibly intrusive. Every single menu I clicked triggered another app. I had to watch 4 different ads to select a SINGLE file. Absolutely insane. Don’t waste your time on this one unless you’re willing to shell out $3.99 for the ad-free version.
No SMB / CIFS support

The only thing I need it for (playing a video from a file share), it doesn't support.
Also doesn't help that while I was looking around to find that feature I managed to tap the "show a loading spinner and never respond again" button somewhere so the app does absolutely nothing now.
Uninstalled.
