WordPal is only appropriate for average high school vocabulary. I tried to take the placement test but I knew 100% of the words. Still, I hoped I would see more advanced words based on that score, but after playing for 10 minutes straight and not encountering a single word I didn’t know (and know very well, not just as passively) I gave up. When I say I played for 10 minutes, I was speeding through questions with barely a glance at the multiple choice options because they were so, so easy that I didn’t even have to pause and think. Very disappointing.

Does not provide definition . Just provides multiple choice options for testing . This just trains your memory . Needs to teach the actual word first then use real world applications . You will be memorizing the choices of words rather than the actual definition since that is what you see most of the time .

Easy to use and practice learning new words and reinforcing ones you forgot.

2 stars because auditory learns need to hear the word as well as see it and the sound does not work when you click on the speaker to hear pronunciation of the word. I’ve tried everything to fix it. When i switch to another app, sound isn’t an issue. Fix this please!

I presume you can continue to click out of the upgrades WordPal wants you to pay for; however, I really don’t know. Each time you open it, you are prompted with upgrading.

After my second use, I was given ads that I could not click out of even though they had skip buttons or x’s.

The words that they had prepared were still very low level after taking their calibration quiz. Some, that I didn’t miss, were still the same upon day two. Maybe this is a good app if you are studying for your act, but it does not contain niche words for those looking to build a bigger repertoire. The customization is a joke—a one liner at best.

But it looks like it only has 1400 words to teach. So let’s say you know 60% of these words …. Not sure the cost is there. The definition to words are very basic for a word app. But I like WordPal..

I love WordPal because it definitely has taught me some words but what it needs is more words for free there are thousands of billions of words out there and I want them all or at least most

You get the first 100 words free but it doesn’t tell you that after that you have to pay to unlock more words.

I didn’t find this very challenging but I sure felt smart. I wish they would add a difficulty level.

Vocabulary list is definitely advanced I’d say. Easy to use, looks nice, and no ad interruptions! Would like to see more words, which is why only 4/5. Especially for paid version.

Just got WordPal , already at 900% of my daily goal. The UI is clean and doesn't distract from the apps purpose. Very efficient. Painless, no consequence to an incorrect answer, and no pressure, you just keep going and you'll see the word again. I really like WordPal.

Only important failing is that you can learn a maximum of 400 words
You start with 100 free words and can pay 5-3$ for premium which gives you 300 more words
I like WordPal and they throw you right into it without so much fluff at the start, but it doesn’t have many words.

First of all, I’ve been searching for an app to enhance and deepen my vocabulary by application. This is a strong start by offering the daily challenge synonym match and the various word games. In order for me to fully conceptualize words I’m learning I have to write or type my own sentences using the words I get wrong on the daily challenges. It would be amazing if this app implemented that system within their App. The next step would assign AI to proofread and determine if the use of the word in that context is strong, moderate or weak. It could starkly sharpen the user because we are using our own voices and ideas to determine how we visualize and understand the words we’re learning. Plus it will ignite the overall experience and spark creativity within the user because we’re learning what the words mean and how to use it in context. That’s my initial thought. Second of all, the GUI is a little austere to me however, the benefits outweigh visualization. Step by step in the right direction will place Word Pal as the number 1 vocabulary learning app that yields everlasting results!

WordPal is so great for word nerds like me! I find I’m playing way longer than the time I set for myself because it’s so fun. Also, the games offered are varied is difficulty so there is plenty of room to grow and build your vocabulary long term. Great app!

I’m liking WordPal so far. I strive for mastery, and no app I’ve used gives me the same feeling. WordPal makes use of spaced repetition, which I use to learn other things; it’s great they incorporated this learning technique and other apps should follow their lead.

I also enjoy the games. While there are only a few of them, it’s enough to get really good at the words you’ve been practicing.

I haven’t reached the end as I’ve only just started, but I hope they continue to add new words every month.

I really like WordPal for learning. The answers disappear fast so it forces you to actually learn the word. The ads are also pretty tolerable.

WordPal has really increased my IQ and vocabulary and has helped advance in my learning. I find WordPal very useful and you don’t have to spend any money. Also I like how it lets you customize it like setting up how many words you want to learn daily. This is a good app and you guys should try it.

I can learn words I don’t even know and I have never seen before. Just makes it a challenge for me.

I have found your application very useful.
Thank you for creating it.

I would recommend one improvement.

When you show all the words by group, mastered, almost mastered and so on, I would recommend that you make it easier to review.

Right now it takes 3 steps to view each word.
Select a word, exit the current word, and select a new word from list.

Allow us to choose one of the words and move to the next one by moving the finger from right to left and backwards from left to right.

You can still put exit at the top right corner to go back to the list.

I have found this process very relaxing to improve my vocabulary.

WordPal is perfect if you’re a logophile, which I am. I just wish you could add your own words and add them to your memorization routine. Other than that, it’s EXCELLENT.

This is the best app I have tried. It is simple to use and effective in learning new words as well as clarifying the meaning and usage of those you could not fully mastered. Also, it is not interrupted by any advertisements. I need to remove two stars away since only 400 words are available with the Pro version after adding 300 more to the initial 100 words.

One of the only apps I’ve found that does exactly what you’d expect it to. The algo is actually pretty good at catching which words you need to practice more.

Of course 800 words is not nearly enough to keep me subscribed for a year because at this rate I’ll just finish them in a month, but if you had like 10,000 words WordPal would easily be worth $99 a year.

I usually get bored very quickly with vocabulary games because I already know most of them but this one is starting off pretty hard.

This game has everything you’d want in a vocabulary builder and nothing you wouldn’t. Hard to believe it’s free. It offers each word in a sentence and audio files to correctly pronounce each word. No ads either which is never the case on free apps. Highly recommend!

Tremendous tool and very well constructed. I love how you can earmark certain words to study later.

WordPal is great. There’s a funny glitch going on in the Home Screen where the words are cropped slightly on the top and bottom but it doesn’t affect WordPal ’s performance. One suggestion I have is more sound affects to make it feel more alive.

Using to keep vocabulary strong as I progress in my career and it is very helpful and easy to use.

This vocab App has so many obscure, but useful words! It has definitely helped improve my vocabulary.

Incredibly simple interface. Keeps track of your word mastery and recycles words you’ve not mastered. Truly a helpful tool to build vocabulary

Very thoughtful design. Good word choices coupled with a speedy method of review and reinforcement. I’ve found WordPal to be a real keeper. Use it often.

It’s really quite fascinating how the more adjectives you go on to learn the more feelings you discover you’ve always had!

The vocabulary words chosen in this game are very helpful in building vocabulary, and reminding the player of words forgotten. The choices for possible definitions are a further reminder of words to be reminded of or learned.

It starts up and lets you actually use WordPal before asking if you like it. Also i haven’t been asked for my credit card yet for an annual subscription to a service I haven’t even tried yet.

I do poetry so this has been an amazing tool to have in my pocket. Thank you!
