Sudoku Classic Puzzle Games Reviews

In the very first puzzle I tried to complete, I accidentally tapped the wrong number, just once, received an error message about making too many mistakes and losing the game, and was given no opportunity to continue or try again. The puzzle I had been working on was just gone. Apparently one mistake is too many. That's not how you should "lose" in Sudoku. The challenge is to solve the puzzle, not to avoid accidentally touching the screen in the wrong spot, and not being allowed to complete a puzzle takes all of the fun out of it.

Downloaded it thinking it was an update for the current sudoku app I use. It’s not. The interface looks basic at best, a cheap knockoff version of SudokuClassicPuzzleGames they’re trying to be, and it doesn’t even help you on the puzzles. One minute you’ll be checking and getting all your answers right, you almost solve the puzzle, and then you get stuck because the computer made an error and then you instantly lose.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GAME! If you enjoy playing sudoku, use an app that doesn’t try to trick you into getting it

The game itself is designed well. The problem is; 1st there is no option to purchase add removal and 2nd though adds are not their selves a problem, the fact that they are very aggressive and more importantly interrupt any steaming news I have running in the background, is. You can turn off the sound for SudokuClassicPuzzleGames , but the adds continue to interrupt any streaming news I have running in the background. I’ll hold on to SudokuClassicPuzzleGames for a while, not too long.., but I am not interested in having to close the game to restart news I have streaming in the background. Best solution charge for add removal. After that turn of the (mostly nonsense) sound in the adds. SudokuClassicPuzzleGames would have been rated far better were it not for having to close it and restart it to address the issue with sound...

SudokuClassicPuzzleGames used to have an option to play the daily challenge at the skill level you desire – now you just get whatever they send you - some days it’s easy, some days it’s expert. No consistency. And also it used to let you know how your time compared to others but no longer. More and more ads as well. So I am looking for a better option now.

My preference is paper/pencil puzzles. I downloaded this to have something easier to keep me busy while waiting for my mother at medical appointments. I immediately turned the sound off so not to be disruptive to others, but when starting a new game the offensive music comes on with the ad that must be viewed for at least a few seconds. I play these games to relax, not to be competitive with other unseen people. There are two many stressors to keep this game from being fun. I don’t need a clock to race against, and would prefer that it could be toggled off. Plus, when a new game is launched, the clock starts and I lose seconds watching the ad before I can skip it. I don’t care how many mistakes I make, keep track if you must, but I would like the option to clear the board and start over like I do with paper/pencil. Inadvertent mistakes are too easy to do with an errant tap on the keyboard. I pay attention to whether it was a finger tap mistake, or a logic error. Too many logic errors I’d clear the puzzle and start over. Plus, when kicked out of a game, the offensive music starts again disrupting those around me. I don’t mind the ads, they are necessary when enjoying a free app, but sound off should mean sound off all the time. Let me enjoy myself playing the game without the sudoku police monitoring how I play.

So an ad popped up and made it seem like an update that I had to click to continue playing. It was completely different and I deleted it because of the forcefulness in making me update. The game didn’t seem bad. I played twice and was just disappointed in the drastic change then when I got back on I realized it was just an ad and not an update so I changed my review and to give an apology to SudokuClassicPuzzleGames developer for my mistake in not realizing it was an advertisement for a completely different app

I don’t like that when I’m using the pencil (making notes) that it won’t let me put the wrong number in. Usually I notice my mistake immediately but sometimes I’m just wrong but if SudokuClassicPuzzleGames doesn’t even let you make a mistake it’s basically playing for you. Also when I need to remove a tiny number from the box because I’ve now used that number somewhere else and it’s no longer an option for this new box I have to erase all of my notes and redo them. I should just be able to tap on the number to remove it. Also, I accidentally put a number in a box instead of making a note with the pencil. Since it was correct (it told me, I didn’t know yet that it was correct) it would let me erase it! Again! Cheating!

I’ve only ever had one other sudoku app which I will be downloading again after I post this review. Two suggestions for the developers: please add a night mode of some sort or allow for a different, somewhat night friendly look for the game. Also, please fix your expert mode to show that NO errors are allowed. Having “0/1” on the top of the screen makes me think, “oh, i have one mistake allowed. The second mistake ends my game.” Perhaps I’m the only person who interprets like this, i don’t know. I think it’s misleading because although I make a mistake, it ends my game right there and then. That doesn’t make sense to me given the “0/1.” Please edit that to reflect NO errors are allowed in expert mode.

I liked the game much better before the last required update. You used to be able to push a number & hold it to keep working on that number and see all the places you’d put that number highlighted. It made it clearer & easier & faster. Now you have to hunt more and select the space and the number each time, requiring extra steps & time.

Would like to have the option to fill all notes in at the beginning and it to automatically clear numbers when they are used in other lines, columns and rows.
Also to be able to select a number and fill it in other spots until done then unselect that number and move on to another number.

I love SudokuClassicPuzzleGames but I have a few ideas and concerns.
Ever since I updated my app I can’t change difficulty levels. Please fix that!
And once we’ve correctly placed a number in the location can you make it where it can’t be changed by accidentally selecting that square again. And once we’ve correctly placed a number in all 9 locations can you gray it out from the number line up please. That way we know it is already finished and again we aren’t accidentally selecting the wrong number for a location.

Needs to allow One Touch Number Post and maybe auto-complete at the very end. Also when a number is selected on the pad then color or highlight every instance of that number on the puzzle.

The color of a highlited number is to much like all the other numbers. In other sudoku games it is easier to discern the number which is highlighted. If there are four number “6s in the game, all 6s will be highlighted green while all the other numbers will remain their original colors. It makes it easier for players who have eyesight problems to identify the 6s and work toward solving the location of the other 6s.

If the purpose for keeping the 6s difficult to find by not making them easy to see is part of the strategy to make it more difficult, then you have succeeded.

Other than that, the game is well designed.

The only thing I would make better about it is more color more detail and a little more fun but very good and amazing sudoku game one of the best one I’ve found I play it everywhere while I’m watching tv,before bed,when I wake up,and it’s FREE with barely any adds. Overall very amazing

A great game with no ads beating you to death especially pop up ads during the game. It would be nice if when you have ten or less numbers to fill in and it is obvious where they go, that they would fill in automatically. Other than that,it is very good!

I love me some sudoku, and SudokuClassicPuzzleGames, in spite of the ads one must endure, is pretty perfect if you ask me. I especially like being able to pencil in options. I do this on paper sudoku and it always looks a ridiculous mess. I’d call myself a solid intermediate player and these puzzles offer up a good challenge.

I like the program and especially like the daily challenges but I can’t stand the amount of commercial interruptions and it’s especially bad that if every time you press pause you have to watch a commercial to start playing again.

If you make a third fatal mistake the screen is mostly covered by the message that you lost not giving you the chance to see the screen and understand where you went wrong.

Great app, more fun than on paper actually. It lets you highlight a number, let’s you know if you made an error, choose level of difficulty, put it down and come back to it later. I really enjoy these quick breaks in the day, and the absence of annoying interruptions.

I really liked the older version better because l found the squares a wee bit larger and subsequently so the numbers.
Now l am tired so most likely it is tired eyes Syndrome. But that is how l perceived it mid game mid update. So … don’t judge an old lady too harshly at 3:30 AM. Dottie P
