While I see what the DNR was going for ....the fact that they put out an unfinished app is troubling. I hope hunting and fishing dollars didn’t pay for this! On a iphone6s the load times are incredibly slow even when hooked to WiFi. The mapping is a joke... as hunt stand is easier to use. Come on guys you can do better than this. Interesting the other hunt Wisconsin app works fine why not just run with that ? There’s plenty of other mapping apps out there... we need rules, reg, season dates and open and close times and best times to hunt and fish!!! That’s it....Use the K.I.S.S. Rule .... maybe you’ll then have a winner
Updated: why must you constantly retype your email and password in? Why does HuntWildWisconsin keep telling me the email or pass is wrong... when it hasn’t changed! You people have made a real useless app here... it needs a simple back or exit button to get out of things that you accidentally hit... not then into a frustrating exercise in app use. Half of the features don’t work .... really? And that’s acceptable? Even with a linked account nothing really works!!! This ones a total loser ... get the other hunt wild Wisconsin ( the blaze orange one) at least everything works....

HuntWildWisconsin has become very buggy and unusable. Last year it was working pretty well and I would’ve given it four stars. I started trying to use it again in anticipation of hunting season and it is now crap. The map is very unstable and will not allow me to explore. Within seconds it starts Jittering and takes me back to current location or shows entire state encapsulated in purple lines. I cannot save a map any longer. I had about 25 saved last year and they were stable. The back button often and disappears and you are stuck. I have the same iPhone XR.
Have tried to problem solve this with Hunt Wild staff but to no avail. I have the latest iOS and app version, great Wi-Fi, and tons of memory on my phone. I have deleted and reinstalled HuntWildWisconsin at least 10 times. Same thing. Cleaned out my phone and rebooted but still not good. Tried HuntWildWisconsin on my wife’s phone and our iPad and same result.
The apps not working and they need to get it fixed soon. Hunting season is upon us. DNR staff said they’ve only encountered this a few times with iPhones. I strongly doubt that’s true and a lot of people have iPhones!
It has the potential to be a very useful product but it’s a total waste now.

The Go Wild website is really terrific. HuntWildWisconsin is not ready for prime time. Link to Go Wild is incomplete (doesn’t show all licenses for instance).

Rather than trying to create such a comprehensive app with mapping etc, how about just a slick, mobile version of Go Wild that gets the basics right. Add features later

I’ve tried to delete and re download HuntWildWisconsin a million times in an attempt to logon. Sometimes it will allow me to logon but will never give me access to the maps, waypoints, tracks or regulations feature. It will often just not let me logon saying my password is incorrect. I’ve even changed my password a bunch of times but the problems continue to persist. I tried logging on with my google account but that always comes back with an error message saying it ran into problems. I am assuming that the DNR knows this is junk because I have emailed them at their stated app email account several times in the past 3 weeks and have had ZERO responses from them. HuntWildWisconsin is junk!

Overall, I love that there is finally an easy way to access maps for the public wildlife and fisheries areas. However, as an employee and recreation user, I’d love to see more features within the maps. Putting parking lots/access points and/or trails on the maps would make planning a hike, hunt, or work day much easier!

For a version 1 app I am impressed. I credit the DNR getting HuntWildWisconsin in market to test and learn from the experience and feedback of real users. It is the way modern software is developed.

I downloaded HuntWildWisconsin a day before gun deer season. When it came time to register my deer I could not have been happier. Previous years under the former system were distractingly difficult. This year it was a breeze.

I am sure future versions will address some of the feed back from real users being collected, accelerating the benefits of HuntWildWisconsin . I hope fishing is added as a category soon.

Have had a issue since HuntWildWisconsin updated just showing a white box where the shooting hours scroll is to change the date to see hours. Reported a issue through HuntWildWisconsin explaining what I did, like force closing HuntWildWisconsin , uninstalled and reinstalled, checked my settings, restarted my phone and the issue is still there. Got a email response telling me to do everything I already did. Love HuntWildWisconsin otherwise. Please fix this issue and please reach out if you have any questions about my issue

I am trying to print all my licenses. Could not remember user name or password. So I went through account look up. It found my account. Then asked to send me my user name and reset password. Did that. Still does not work unless I go through search for my account. How can I trust HuntWildWisconsin to register the deer I may shoot. I will delete HuntWildWisconsin and use the Dnr web site. Please fix

Thanks for fixing my password. But I still can’t link HuntWildWisconsin to the account to print my licenses. It says there is an error linking the account.

Love HuntWildWisconsin with all the available options. I do wish you could add photos and attach them to a waypoint you created. Let’s say you found a tree to put a stand in early in the season, since waypoints aren’t super accurate, a photo of that area or tree would be nice to have saved for future use. Maybe add that on the next update?!

Performance is glitchy. Zoom out on map to find public land go to zoom in and boots you to current location. Cannot switch between layers and keep same property in view again boots you back to current location. Does not save waypoints. The egghead that created this update needs to get back at the drawing board

Releasing an app before it’s finalized is one of the worst things you can do. The probability of people redownloading after they delete from the frustration is very low. HuntWildWisconsin has an enormous amount of glitches. First thing I did was click into the layers option and got stuck on that page, no back option to get back to the map.... I expect nothing less from Wisconsin.

Great app everything you could want in a app and more just would add Duck identification on duck hunting section but would highly recommend HuntWildWisconsin for all Wisconsin hunters 👍

HuntWildWisconsin is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It’s easy to use but packs a lot of up to date hunting info. Thank you, Wisconsin DNR for making this happen! Can’t wait to get out this season.

The mapping works well out in the woods and it’s nice to not have to bring a physical copy of the regulations with me. Will be recommending this to my friends before we head out duck hunting this weekend

Go Wild integration works nicely. Maps look great. Links to podcast don’t work on mobile. Maybe should link to open in the Apple Podcasts app.

I use HuntWildWisconsin for hunting and it has been great. Now the new version is terrible. On my iPhone X the map refreshes every few seconds, and if you are zoomed in it bounces back out to the entire state map. It is basically unusable now. Don’t waste your time until they fix it!!

Great app if it worked correctly. I’ve tried with 2 different iPhones on WiFi and LTE, but it would never load the maps, and said that the connection was too slow. Too bad because there’s so much useful potential.

Great, useful app to have in the field. Love the maps and fast access to regulations.

HuntWildWisconsin is all you could ask for... everything you need to know where u are going early in the morning. DNR made a great free app.

Would be perfect with a weather interface!

This is a responsible alternative to caring paper or plastic card licenses in the field. The other functionality of HuntWildWisconsin is a nice bonus.
