Solid

UPDATE: Bumping review up to 5 stars in response to new information direct from developer that complication availability is forthcoming. That was the only thing that held me back, so in good faith, I’m giving Chirp the full five stars it doubtless deserves. Thank you! Full review below:

As a freelance artist and independent contractor working in the comic book industry, I live and die by my Twitter feed. Chirp is fantastic for not only keeping me abreast of crucial updates, it allows me to be participatory as well. I paid the additional for the Pro features and have zero regrets for doing so. The interface is pleasing, easy to navigate. The only complaint has nothing to do with Chirp and everything to do with ergonomics, and that is that my left tricep/bicep area gets a little sore if I’m glancing too long. But that’s what the phone and the iPad are for, am I right? The only thing I wish Chirp had—and I wish it a lot—would be an available complication for the watch face itself. I’ve positioned it top in my dock, but a complication would make this a 5 star app, in my humble opinion. Well done!

The model for Apple Watch developers

Say what you will about the Apple Watch, the apps for it leaves something to be desired. But every once in a while we get treated to the cream of the crop.

I consider myself an Apple Watch expert. I run the world’s largest Flipboard magazine devoted to the Apple Watch as well as the most popular Facebook Apple Watch and Apple Watch groups. I was also the world’s first iPhone blogger going back to 2007, so I feel confident when I leave reviews.

this app is, without a doubt, the best of the best when it comes to Apple Watch apps. Not only did Will take a difficult app (Twitter) to turn into this crowd jewel, but he’s a teenager!!!! I mean, seriously ... how can you say one negative about Chirp? If something is wrong and it’s in his control to fix it, he’ll fix it and, knowing him, he’ll resubmit Chirp to Apple to get it reapproved so you see it ASAP.

You should not only support developers of this magnitude, you should pay for the pro version to ensure he can continue to develop at this level. Believe me, you don’t want the alternatives which often involve expensive yearly subscriptions.

Take a look around Chirp Store and try to find reviews so glowing written by me. You might find one or two, but I don’t believe in giving credit unless it’s credit that’s really due.

Will represents the best of all of us and his work is what every other developer should strive for.

5 stars, only because 20 stars is not currently an option.

Extremely Nice App for Twitter

I’m always a little skeptical these days about apps for social media.

However!!! This developer has seemingly got this right to the point where I didn’t mind paying for the pro features and helping support Chirp and the developer.

When an app is this good, it deserves to be support financially and with downloading it for use.

Some of the first things I checked out was:

1. How often is Chirp updated and supported by the developer.

2. Issues with how Chirp operates on my iOS devices.

3. Developers response time and efforts to help the customer with their product.

4. How intuitive it is to use Chirp .

5. Does Chirp function as described.

Rarely! I mean rarely! Do I get very excited about an app like this but the answer to the above 5 points is affirmative! This developer has done an excellent job with his app and he supports it frequently with updates. The developer also responds to people’s responses and concerns.

Chirp functions as advertised and I have been using the heck out of it on my Apple Watch series 4.

Really nice app for Twitter and love the features and the bell that goes off when I’m checking out my tweets.

I just cannot get over how well Chirp looks and functions on my Apple Watch.

Good job Mr. Developer. LOL.

PS. Make an app for FaceBook!!!!!!!! Please!!

Great Twitter app for Apple Watch

This is a great start to having a native Apple Watch app since Twitter has removed their watch app and the Tweetbot Apple Watch app only shows activity. This has most of the features that a Twitter client would have on a phone but it fits nicely on the watch. I do have some recommendations for improvement. Firstly I would like to see Tweet Marker integration so my progress syncs with Tweetbot on my iOS and macOS devices and I can pick up right where I left off. Another recommendation is to allow users to pick a font size as font might be a little small for some users. One more feature for the future could be to allow handoff support much like the Apple Watch Reddit client Nano does so that you can choose from multiple popular Twitter clients that are out on iOS and you can easily move from viewing a tweet on your watch to viewing it on iPhone or iPad.

Best way to get Twitter on your Apple Watch

I’ve used this app for a while now, and I have to say, it’s the best way to get Twitter on your Apple Watch.

this app has more features than any of the other apps I’ve tested. You’re getting probably the best Twitter experience possible on such a small screen. More features are always coming, and the new 2.0 update really makes things even better. Even if it stopped being updated now, it would still be very complete.

If you have an issue, the developer, Will Bishop, will be quick to help. At his age, it’s impressive that he can keep three Apple Watch apps updated, and make all three great. When there’s a bug, if you report it to him, you’ll for sure see it fixed soon.

I know some people don’t like Chirp because of this app Pro, but it’s completely worth it to get. The developer completely deserves your money. And, hey, it’s an app without ads; you should be happy there’s even a free option that gives you many of the standard features.

I love using this app on my Apple Watch, and I’m excited to see what comes in its future. Chirp completely deserves all five stars. If you’re looking for a Twitter app for your Apple Watch, look no farther than this app.

Excellent!

I don’t usually write reviews but I feel like I need to for Chirp. So Chirp nails it! Works on LTE so you don’t need your phone with you if you have the new Apple Watch. It allows you to watch the videos in tweets (although with the recent update they’ve become really slow to load). You can click on links in Chirp and view the site. Read, reply, retweet, compose new tweets using scribble or voice. Chirp developer is leading the way and every other developer should take their lead because this is highlighting what the watch is capable of and what we expect! It’s free but y’all should consider donating to this developer because they truly get it!

Super Convenient... Better Than Expected

I didn’t think it was going to work very well, considering the Apple Watch isn’t a great device for social media. Chirp works literally almost exactly like Twitter and is amazingly built. Definitely worth upgrading to pro, and you can choose your cost between three options. I chose the middle so I wasn’t cheap, but I also wanted to make sure it would be worth it. If you are thinking about paying the higher price, go for it! Definitely worth it so that you can tweet, message, search, view more trends, etc.

Great app for a platform I’m no longer using.

If you’re staying on Twitter, and you have an iPhone and Apple Watch, then by all means this is a must have. Wil is a great developer- I’m amazed that he started turning out this kind of quality when he was in high school. (The most I ever managed was that hangman program for my Pascal class...)
I, for one, have left Twitter because I disagree with their arbitrary and capricious behavior. It was fun while it lasted. But hopefully Wil will add to his repertoire of apps in the future.

Works great on Apple Watch Series 4!

Update: waited a few days and it started working. Love it! Super easy to use and very intuitive

I upgraded to a series 4 and restored it from a back up from my old watch but Chirp on the phone tells me to install Chirp on my watch (it is) and Chirp on my watch tells me to finish setting up on my phone (which I can't do because the phone thinks its not installed). I've tried reinstalling the apps on both the phone and the watch with no luck.

Fills watch Twitter gap nicely

I’ve used this app since Twitter left the watch and upgraded to pro with color. I think some of reviews aren’t fair. Chirp was slow, but the developer addressed that on v2.0. It is free and developer responsive to input via Twitter, including 2.0 crashes, fix coming. He took my logs from twitter comment and didn’t have to do that. I think he will keep improving Chirp . It has more features than Jay, which is why I went back to this app despite the slow performance of V1.0.

Video Support!! If only if watch app doesn’t depend on phone...

It’d be amazing if Chirp can be almost standalone like Outcast to retrieve data via watch LTE. But first real deal with great video support nonetheless.

[Update] Yes the response is correct and supports LTE. Spinning wait symbol made me think it had to get data from phone. Just tried it by disconnecting completely from phone and WiFi. But hope video transfer is faster. Hoping Chirp is able to stream vid quality equivalent to watch display res.

Great app but better developer

As a blind guy who uses VoiceOVer there is nothing more frustrating then discovering a fantastic exciting app then only to learn it will not work with VoiceOVer. When this app first hit Chirp store it did not work with VoiceOVer. I reached out to the developer and he got back in touch with me quickly and I became a tester and he quickly fixed this app and made it fully accessible to us blind VoiceOVer users. I will now be Chirping anywhere I go. Thanks for getting it.

A bug?

I switched accounts, and for some reason Chirp started acting weird after that- I am guessing it's because of the account that i'm using; it only follows one person. Chirp is acting weird because the it shows only three tweets out of so many available, and when I tap "Load more" it doesn't do anything. After a few time of doing that, it then says something like " oops, you have done too many of that" over and over again.

I actually like Chirp to the extent that I have bought all the available buyable extras. I was hoping that by this rating somehow I reach to the developer.

Great Twitter app for Apple Watch

Great app in regard to what all you can do with the Apple Watch. Love that you can do almost everything that you can do with the official Twitter iPhone app. Only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is that after buying pro my existing DMs don’t show up and I can’t share tweets with existing group chats that are in my DMs. I’m sure there will be more accessibility as time goes on and updates are made though! Definitely worth the money

Solid Replacement for Twitter Client on Watch

I use Chirp on my watch whenever I don’t have my phone handy and you would guess that it’s an official client with how smooth it works. It seems difficult to tweet without something like FlickType in addition but the interface is buttery smooth. If you love swiping through new tweets and don’t have access to your phone, this is Chirp for you!

Perfect for convenience!

Love how I can tweet from my Apple Watch. This developer is a genius and it doesn’t go unnoticed 👌🏼 I actually stumbled across Chirp cuz he tweeted a friend and I after we told Apple to make a Twitter app for the watch haha so props to your grind and intelligence! 10/10 for Chirp . And don’t complain about paying for the pro version it’s a 1 time payment and you get a choice of how much you wanna pay.

Short and Sweet

Enhances the entire Twitter experience on Apple Watch. You can watch Twitter linked videos and a text-version of any website, right on the watch and directly through the watch app.

Sometimes your somewhere and you don’t want to pull your phone out, but you want to get your Twitter fix, Chirp does it perfectly. Definitely 5-stars!

Great app but have one gripe

I downloaded Chirp after getting my series four and never used it on my series three. It’s a great app and even greater if you pay for the pro version (worth it), but it’s buggy. Everything functions, but if you refresh in the wrong spot or try to post a tweet; it will crash. I’d make the review five stars but that crash bug is so annoying. Hope it gets fixed 😀.

Great App!

I just got an Apple Watch and wanted to see if I could check social media on it. I found Chirp and downloaded it. It’s awesome! Great quality and I still can’t believe I can watch videos so clearly on my Apple Watch! I would really recommend this app pro, it’s great and lets you stay connected away from your phone. I have no bad things to say about Chirp, it’s just too awesome!

By

Better than expected

I thought this would be a app like Twitter crammed into a watch app but it’s very clean and very fast and I’m on a Series 3! I love how cheap this app pro is and NO SUBSCRIPTION I really don’t want a subscription for Twitter but one small payment is so nice! Chirp is amazing simple and fast! Highly reckoned for people who use Twitter and can use it secretly 🤫 wherever

I don’t normally use third party app for social media

In this case I was looking for a free basic app (you can pay for upgrades) to try out on my watch since I can’t always pull my phone out.

Chirp had a few hiccups getting set up. It was minor, only took an extra few minutes to follow the instructions for such an occurrence. It works fine on my series 3 watch running OS 6. It is especially cool because it plays video and I haven’t found many apps that play videos.

Good app so far.

Pretty good but I have questions

It works just fine! But to have access to a lot of stuff you need to buy something. But I can answer DMs fine and scroll through my time line. But as a kpop fan I’m constantly looking up different groups accs and I’m willing to buy the upgrade but I wanna know if it’s a monthly thing or you pay once and you have it forever. But overall a good app
