🏷️ About:
Canary is an overdose prevention app that monitors for a user’s inactivity after activation. In the event that a user stops moving and fails to respond to prompts by Canary, the app issues an alert to others.
Most importantly, you have to communicate with someone in your life that wants to help you and understand you, but if you have someone you can rely on (a sponsor, an understanding friend) then you need to turn Canary on every time you use.
The event I’m talking about happened December 2019. I hadn’t used for five years and knew I was going to relapse. I turned on Canary before injecting and it asked me to add a phone number for someone to reach out to. From what I understand, they received a text alerting them to be near their phone in case something happens. After about five or ten mins, I became unresponsive and the person I set was alerted. They came over ASAP and found me blue and not breathing. She also had some simple overdose training and knew to get my tongue out of my throat and try to wake me up to get me to breath. The EMTs arrived and managed to get me up and into an ambulance. A few hours and rounds of Narcan later and I was released.
I would have died if it wasn’t for Canary. Thank you for making it and having it on here. I wish there were more reviews and ratings.

Kevin you have came up with an app that helps the people that we are in an opiod epidemic right now. Maybe it this can call 911 instead of other people who will think it's an accidental call this could possibly and potentially save many lives if 911 can get an ambulance to the victim. In time to Administer Narcan and CPR then this would save so many lives that do not deserve to be lost. I won’t lie I have three brothers and all three of them all were hooked on heroin. My parents did not know at the time and my baby brother had a seizure at home when he came out of the seizure they did not take him to the hospital. My older brother was hooked extremely bad he was in an accident and given medication the doctor never wean him off and took away the medication without any notification which at the time left my brother with no medicine to take but was filled with all that medication and I system so as the medicine started coming out of his system he started going through withdrawal effects via fax that a heroin addict has is unsufferable it is no different than what an alcoholic goes through they can die if they are not in the proper center or around the proper people that can give them medication to help them because they have seizures that are life-threatening their heart can stop they can have heart attacks there’s all kinds of things that can happen my brother went into a program and My Baby Brother went into a program they got put on medication one was put on the shot and one was put on a medication he goes to a center to take every day in front of a nurse which is methadone and not the methadone that is used for pain methadone that blocks if a person would use heroin and the methadone would block the heroin they would feel nothing so Canary if it detects at the right time and can call 911 to get an ambulance to that location where the person fell and dropped the 911 could administer Narcan and sometimes one dose of Narcan does not bring a person back he can take 3 to 4 doses of Narcan to bring a person back depending on what they have taken I’ve seen multiple different occasions where people have needed different amounts or have needed Narcan and another drug to bring them back epinephrine I will do my best as well to spread the word for Canary even if people that are friends or family members that are friends with a heroin attic that could download Canary to the persons phone without them knowing and it would be on their Apple Watch if they have one and if they don’t they are Apple watches that you can buy online or at pawnshops that are in perfectly good condition and will work with any Apple phone I guess I should say most Apple phones depending on which generation of the Apple Watch you get and the generation of the Apple phone and it is extremely simple to download Canary and set up Canary while the person would be occupied then if some thing happened Canary would be on their phone and their watch as long as they’re wearing the watch which I would encourage them to wear it every day give them a reason to think that it’s cool or in style or some thing and hopefully they will not pawn the watch or phone and this could be one of the number one apps to save lives and I think it is so amazing that you thought of this and made Canary I can’t wait to watch this become more popular and hopefully one of the number one apps in Canary store with the Recognition it deserves.

So I’m pretty sure Canary needs to be pulled up when using it so you can not open another screen or play music, also I believe it messages a contact if you stop responding. I think this is great if that person sees the message right away and calls 911. This would be flawless if there was a way to send straight to 911. Thank you for creating this Kevin! It has a lot of potential and I’m shocked more people have not heard of this. I’ll do my best to spread the word. Keep up the good work!
