I thought the game was so fun and great, almost became a favorite for me. I should of known developers are gross and greedy and want you to pay for all their stuff. You only get to play 2 episodes of red man, first episode for free, second for 100 coins (the only coins they give you) and everything else costs coins as well, and there’s no way to make coins to continue the story, not even watching ads, you can only buy them. I don’t mind in-app purchases, all apps have them, but these developers are just greedy. They just want your money, they don’t care about you enjoying their game they’ve created. Do better developers, this is sad. Will be definitely deleting this game!

The story and premise of the game is interesting, but the experience is very buggy. I had to completely restart and redo the first two chapters because the game simply wouldn’t progress anymore. It must have been the order I clicked on things or something because I couldn’t trigger the next event... and this issue happened near the very end of the chapters. Having to restart and being unable to speed through what I’d already read was aggravating.

So I finally got one of the endings. There is an “Alt Ending” you can play through. Of course I want to see that. But I’ve been unsuccessful in making the chapter progress. The game just doesn’t do anything. I give up.

I’m not going to play through this again as much as I like the story and characters. Constantly having to redo mundane things like asking Sophie how she’s doing or scrolling through fairly long text logs to find a clue just deters from enjoying the game. There’s no save feature so if you exit the game you might actually have to start the chapter over again (happened to me more than once). There’s no fast forward feature so if you do play again you can’t skip what you’ve already read.

Decent story but unpolished presentation.

This is by far the best game in its genre. By now I've completed all of the Dead Man's phone series except for the last two Urgent Cases episodes, as well as Viral and God's Town and I loved them all... except for the last two episodes of Redman. The problem is that when I reach episode 5 I just get a blank screen until I go back to the episode selection screen, delete episode 5, and re-download it. However, the new download overwrites the choices I made in episode 4 and the story is different in one crucial aspect that forces me into a truly awful ending, and I HATE it. I'm not the only one with this issue, either, as evidenced by the many Reddit posts on the subject. Unfortunately, given how long it seems to have been in place, it looks like the devs don't care to fix it.

My only problem with Scriptic is the wait time. I don’t want to wait an hour to read stories, nor do i want to wait 45 minutes to an hour to progress in the story like Viral or Dead Man’s Phone. Its really inconvenient and pushes me away from the game. This would be less of an issue if using the coins to decrease the time made it so it skipped the timer entirely, but it doesn’t. it shortens it by a few minutes but that’s it. Some people don’t have time to wait, and there’s just no need for the timer. Please get rid of it..

I really loved playing this game, it’s got amazing storytelling and it has just enough suspension to keep you wanting to know what’s going to happen next. They do a great job with the plot twists and the red herrings but the few issues I’m having with this game is that for some reason I couldn’t hear the volume at all even when I turned my volume all the way up. Plus sometimes when I enter the group chats, it would open up at the start of the chat which would cause me to scroll down to the most recent messages. It also makes it seem like a video was posted over and over again on the chat of the victim’s phone and you would have to try to scroll all the way down until the chat would become more active again. Also, the ending for episode 3 seems to be bugged as when you reach the ending, it doesn’t take you to the end credits like it did with the other episodes and it took me a day to realize that I had finished episode 3. The same seems to happen for the last episode because at the end, (if you do the good ending for the alt) it takes you to a news article about the arrests of the killers but it won’t let me click off which was annoying. Overall, great if not amazing storytelling but it needs to work on some bugs in the game. Also the episodes seem to be for only season 1 so I’m guessing there’s going to be a season 2? If so, can’t wait til it comes out!

I really do love this game the graphics everything about it the only reason I said but was because recently and I don’t know if this is happening on everyone’s but every time I try and open Scriptic it gets to half way done loading then it says this “Try restarting Scriptic , come back later, or contact support.” And I did all three of thoes things but it’s been like 4 weeks and I still can’t get into it so I’m trying this instead cause I would really like to play this game again.

I didn’t have much hope for this one. I expected it to just be your average text-based stat using game or one that you would have to spend a ton of money on. But, it’s far more complex (and cheaper) than that. I adore the storytelling and the way that everything feels so immersive. The voice acting is great too! I’ve noticed that a lot of our responses don’t really count towards the overall story, but that’s okay! Not everything has to have a different ending. Great game, and I hope there’s more stories soon, but I understand that producing good-quality content is expensive and time-consuming. I do think more people would be encouraged to play if there was a way to get coins through watching advertisements or something free, but that’s just my opinion. Try it for yourself! :)

The game is a bit buggy at times. At one point I had to completely reboot it because it wouldn’t let me progress a conversation with Sophie even though it indicated that I needed to. Also, one choice I made didn’t seem to matter. Not sure if that was intentional or a glitch. Overall I enjoyed the game. I suspected the killer early on, but wasn’t sure if my instincts were right. It was a well done social commentary. If you play make sure you read the BBO news. There’s some gems in there.

Give this a try. I enjoyed this a lot! It’s such a great experience and I love that we had a lot of decisions, especially in interviews. I love how realistic this is— the photos, videos, text messages, and everything. I liked learning the slang haha. The group chat is pretty funny. The only downfalls were that it’s kind of buggy and that in the text messages, it kept bringing me down when they sent a new msg when I was trying to read the above messages so it got me frustrated. Also, I didn’t really like that it kept making me watch the trailer and do things from the last chapter when we got to the new one.. it may be the case for only me though.

i had this game a while ago when it was only one story (redman/the first one). i played all the episodes since they were FREE. i got the game again just yesterday and finished the first episode of that story. turns out, you have to pay for the rest of the episodes?? i get if the developers need money or whatever but come on!!! completely ruined the experience if anyone else doesn’t know the ending already. while i love the development and story overall, having to pay for it kinda ruined it.

I went to episode 3, I almost made it to beat the episode, but when i try to go snap life, everything is white, all the posts and friend lists is gone, (might be a bug) im dead stuck now
Edit: the snaplife was finally fixed, im in episode 5, but when i try to open the video that jermoe send from barely (restored) it keeps crashing and takes me out of the game (sorry for my poor English)

This game is amazing, completely free, free skips, everything. No catches. It’s very interactive and you go through steps as an officer to find out who killed this young man. The message is so powerful. I was so angry I had angry tears, I felt powerless, and then I felt relieved and accomplished. It’s realistic and interesting. It’s really worth playing and honestly I would have paid for this, but I’m so glad it’s free and this powerful message can reach so many people. Thank you for this amazing game. #FKJJ

I never leave reviews but I have to for this game. This is the best game I have ever played and that is saying a lot. I love everything true crime but have yet to find a true crime game that is actually worth anything, until I found this one. The graphics and story lines are amazing. It makes you feel like you are right in the middle of the case and you are really a part of what is going on. I love everything about Scriptic!!!

I absolutely loved this game and finished it in two days. It was so addicting and I just needed to know what happened next! I love that everything is free and there’s no fake money or waiting involved. It’s so immersive and makes you feel like you are actually in the story. I also have to say this is very powerful and sends an important message. It definitely corresponds with the times we are in. I would 100% recommend this game to anyone.

Why can’t all texting simulator mobile games, roleplaying mobile games, interactive, text based etc mobile games be like this game?

I’m not saying that they should all have the same story, graphics and game mechanics. No, I mean the system in which they gain profit. The game is a set amount. You know how much you need to spend before you play any of their games. Yes, there is multiple games or episodes within Scriptic. There are no ads because you pay for the episodes. It is completely worth it, believe me.

I played the detective case a long time ago and I didn’t finish because life is a distraction. It wasn’t because I didn’t like it. I might have been hesitant to buy it too, because well I’ve had so many bad experiences with micro purchases. That’s not how this is.

I’ve made it through all the horror stories and I was literally on the edge of my seat and my heart was racing. I’ve watched horror movies, read horror books and I’ve played horror movies since I was a kid so…if I find it scary and thrilling, then it most likely will give the regular person a heart attack. So beware…you’re in for a scare! (Goosebumps anyone?? No!?)

I have never written a review for anything but this game definitely needs some recognition. This game has been so well thought out, it is extremely detailed and so enjoyable to play. The story telling along with the plot twists and suspense all make this game so addictive. If you are intrigued by crime shows, this will definitely make you feel like you are living in one. It has immaculate story telling on real life situations. The best part is that everything is completely free which makes the game so much more enjoyable; no ads, no paying for extra stuff. I 100% would recommend this game to anyone.

I am so glad I found this game. Honestly, when I downloaded this I thought I would’ve had to pay for some things or even watch an ad for something or I would have to buy stuff for some choices. But imma be real with you, this game is the best game I have ever played. The story is so good, it made me sad that this game ended. I finished this game is a DAY. This game is so nice and honestly I would recommend it if ur looking for this game. If the creator is reading this, y’all should never change a thing in this game. It’s the best, props to u for this whole game. I loved it! Great job. And I got to attached to this game like it was a real thing. I absolutely loved it!

I am enjoying my time with this game and have finished the two main stories. I am playing the urgent homicide detective stories and I am enjoying it so far. My only complaint is that the game will not progress further on episode 2. Spoilers: Whenever Sutherland asks Vikram to look into more evidence in the crime scene, Vikram responds and says he’ll get back to me as soon as he finds something. The game then doesn’t allow me to exit or respond with anything else unless I exit Scriptic completely. Then when I return I am able to exit but Vikram still hasn’t responded back. There is also no timer to indicate that I have to wait a certain time for him to respond; it’s like the episode froze. I hope to see this fixed soon!

Though this game had little crashes in my opinion like something would take way to long to load or something didn’t appear, but besides that it all worked perfectly. ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE ENDING, I HAD A FEELING IT WAS THEM BUT DIDNT KNOW FOR SURE. I find it funny how you can build a friendship and a trust with a fictional character. I LOVED HOW YOU DONT HAVE TO WATCH ADS FOR ANYTHING AND THAT IS ALL IS FREE. I ADORE THE FACT YOU CAN SKIP THOUGH THE WAITS AND THAT IT HAS TWO ENDINGS. The first ending is so phenomenal and chilling, I do wish that there was a little more as to what happens with the guys. I pray that there will be a season 2 because we need to know more, but if the season 2 ends up being just another murder that is totally and completely fine. The option ti choose as to what to say was awesome and there should be more like it.

I played the whole thing in one day and I got to say…. I love it! The plot, the relationship building, the actual sleuthing, the multiple endings, it leaves you craving another season. Hopefully in the next season the data base gets a major upgrade in regards to security. I hope that more games can capture the way yours has in the way of interactive gaming. I’m in love and invested in Scriptic.
