I want my money back!!!

While the game idea is fresh, the execution is disappointingly mediocre. The text- based game gui is bland. I totally regret purchasing the $3.99 upgrade to remove the ads, which I did out of frustration because the ads were constant and delayed moving between hints and missions at every turn. The storyline is not at all interesting, and solving clues became repetitive and boring - it basically boils down to doing a lot of Google searches and decoding flag semaphores, ciphers, ASCII, etc., none of which I care to spend my time doing. The clues were sophomoric. Even more frustrating is the fact that once I got through all the missions, which didn’t take long, I was prompted to download another app to continue chapter 2 of this boring story and probably will need to pay another $3.99 to remove ads from that app. I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone.

Bugs and tedious ciphers get in the way of a thoughtful game

What’s wrong: If you know what ASCII and Caesar ciphers are, then that’s basically the what’s in store for you here as far as clues go. Because the clues are on images, you find yourself transcribing numbers and text from the images in a way that feels like busywork. You’re encouraged to Google things, but the game is popular enough now that all the clues have been Google bombed (i.e. Google will auto fill the clue and tell you the answer to many of them now). The in-game browser lacks page search and navigation is broken (the back button passes through taps and this mutes and unmutes sound rather than going back). Sometimes the browser crashes and displays strange iOS errors. I ended up paying to get rid of the ads right away as I really have no patience for the kind of ads they show. Since they show up super early and fairly often I really hadn’t even gotten a taste of the game yet.

What’s right: The in game browser is a thoughtful touch, as is the notes feature. There are hints of a clever storyline. The image viewer for clues does give a sense of immersion missing in other games of the genre.

Unfortunately I just can’t get through the tedium of the clues, but I’m glad to have supported the developers. I have a feeling they’ll be making better games in the future.

Great idea! Love it but

It’s a great idea for a game and the puzzles aren’t too difficult for it to be frustrating.

However, the browser within the game is frustrating to use since the “back” button seems to be glitchy. 98% of the time I use the back button, I’m led to an “oops there seems to be an error” page. This can be very annoying since the trial and error nature of researching online requires frequent use of the back button. Otherwise, I’m forced to go back to the homepage of google and re-search the same thing. Well, not “forced” since I can just use my own web browser on my phone.

The game would’ve had a smoother process with the in-game browser working properly but it‘a simply a minor disruption to open the safari on my phone.

Flashes of a good puzzle game amid tedious Google searching

At first, it looked like this was going to be a really neat puzzle hunt-type game, and there were definitely flashes of it here and there (especially in Part 5, which was far and away the best of the lot). However, most of the game quickly devolved into “Google search this”, which was a huge let-down from what I was expecting. If Chapter 2 ends up getting made, there needs to be a lot more puzzle solving and a lot less Google searching. The latter’s fine in small doses, but it becomes a problem when it starts to overshadow the puzzles themselves.

Why do I have to unlock hints before correct answer is recognized

On more than one occasion I have submitted the correct answer with no typos, and in the correct format and it was not accepted. After watching all the videos to get all hints and get the answer, it magically accepted my answer. Overall I was really enjoying this game, hopefully what I've just experienced in the last few days isn't indicative of the rest of the game.

Too many adds

You’re not sorry by saying sorry that I have to watch an add. You’re making money so why lie about it? Game started out good but had to watch 3 adds before finishing half of the first stage. It’s funny how something like add money greed could ruin a potentially good game.

Add placement could’ve waited till after first stage was done to actually hook me enough before getting too annoyed.

Maybe a bug?

I like the game so far, it makes you think out of the box. Deducting a star because I sometimes get stuck in the browser and have to close the game and reopen to get out of it. For example- I was on the Wiki page for Samuel Morse and clicked on a hyperlink to a different Wiki page. There was no way to go back to the previous page or close the browser, so I was forced to close the game and restart.

Really Cool!

This is a really cool concept and it’s executed very well, however this is definitely not a game for everyone. The clues are sometimes vague or require looking at them a certain way to understand them. That said, once you figure out how it works it becomes much easier and provides a very interesting kind of game that I don’t think I’ve seen done before.

Great puzzle game that is challenging but fun

I have played a lot of puzzle games in my time, and I would definitely say that this is one of the better ones. Understanding codes and decryption processes can be challenging to those unfamiliar, but void gives just enough information to make it easy to learn.

I do consider the puzzles to be challenging, with some being surprisingly simple and others having me scratch me head until i find the right path. The main issue I have is the in-game browser not working quite as well as it should, but it gets the job done so it’s not the worst.

It was also odd playing this game when a lot of the locations take place in Illinois and as someone who has grown up there, it was fun getting to see answers that I could say I’ve actually been to.

Overall, it’s a good game so I recommend giving it a shot.

Some of the Answers don’t match 100% of the google searches

I really enjoy this game, I like the investigative puzzle aspect of it, but don’t google the exact questions as occasionally you won’t get the correct answers. Also, I had googled one of the puzzles in the game and on my pc and got different link responses. Still fun, but if I search the question I’m meant to search, the answer should match and not be one of the many possible answers!

Amazing puzzle game

The puzzles are tricky enough to make you think, but the clues are clear enough to help you when you’re stuck. The built in note taking system and browser are amazing and help sell the experience as apposed to having to close ProjectVOID all the time to go to another tool

Really fun

A really fun puzzle app! I love these kinds of things but don’t really get many opportunities to do them aside from stuff like ARGs. If I were to give a hint for most of these/reminder for myself: don’t jump the gun and assume everything is a caesar cipher. Just because you don’t understand the word doesn’t mean it’s not a real word lol

Never played anything like it!

This game is really cool! The music is creepy/Erie and I haven’t quite come to anything that might tie it all together yet, but it’s very witty! They ask you to use the browser (in game) to look up clues in order to find the answers. So far it’s not too difficult (it’s not too easy either), but that may change! It makes you think for sure!

Really fun and challenging

It’s so good and makes you think. While yes the puzzles are hard it makes me feel so accomplished when I get them right. It’s hard but satisfying as well. Keep up the good work and for people wanting to play it. For one it’s free, totally free! And two it makes you try hard and it teaches me new coding tools too.

A fun and completely doable challenge

I’ve only done the first set of puzzles but this game is right up my alley. Straightforward yet challenging you to look and do research. I found I could do it while watching TV and about an hour. It’s not impossible. It’s not frustrating. Just challenging. Just right.

TL;DR: Finally a challenging puzzle game (little Ads!)

I am typically not one to leave reviews, but this game deserves it. There are plenty of complex solutions mixed in with some simpler ones as well, all which require some thinking outside the box.

Is it perfect? No, there are certainly some bugs with the in-game browser, however it doesn’t distract from the gameplay too much.

As for the advertisements, they are very generously placed and relatively short ads. The game does not force you to a thirty second ads every interaction/level. There are occasional ads here and there, which the developer(s) comically apologize for each time while the ad loads. Much better than the advertisement spam seen in many other similar puzzle games.

Overall, quite fun to play and am excited to check out Chapter Two! Thank you Dr. Q, when the clock is right, feel free to flag me down again :)

Unbelievable!

I normally don’t write reviews and basically delete games after a few times playing, but this the first game that I’m actually hooked on. I love that there are no rules on how to solve different puzzles, use internet for help or whatever. Totally challenging and can’t wait for the story to keep unfolding.
Definitely downloaded project void 2.

Absolutely Amazing

This is by far the best logic, puzzle, searching, research, da Vinci-esque game I have ever played. The developers really figured out the key to playing an interactive game of solving real life puzzles.
It felt very logical and they gave just enough of a clue, whether in the description or in the picture, to make me search for more. It felt like I was in an escape room or trying to find clues that were legitimately important - think super spy.
I’m super impressed and can’t wait for the next chapter!

So much fun!

I was absolutely thrilled at the concept of this game! I love that they incorporated real google searches into the puzzles! I play A LOT of puzzle apps and this is by far one of the best ones! Its just the right amount of difficulty. I only with it was much much longer with more missions. I got through these quickly. I was hoping the final mission needed more than one answer and required deeper research. I can wait for a part 2! Very cool game! I would definitely purchase it if there was a harder version or one with lots of levels available.

This is it!

So I never leave reviews I usually skip it but this game is so cool! It’s the type where it’s a mystery inside of a mystery game and there not super easy to where your guessing it on the first try. And not too hard to where you delete and give up. So if you’re bored in quarantine I’d recommend it!
