YouVersion Bible Lens Reviews

I have loved adding bible verses to my photos for a long time, especially when a particular verse springs to mind. So I was enthralled at the prospect of an app that detects subjects and themes of my photos and suggests verses to match them and compliment them. Wow. YouVersionBibleLens has exceeded my expectations in its clever ability to join pictures and applicable verses. Of course, there are going to be the repeat verses for repeat themes in your photos, which is to be expected. However, they provide enough options with each picture you choose to have a few new ones as well. I have immensely enjoyed playing with YouVersionBibleLens, and have even chosen random pictures just to see what verses YouVersionBibleLens will suggest. I haven’t been disappointed yet. And some have made me laugh pretty hard because they are so accurately applicable, but I never ever would have thought of them. It has been so much fun to play with. Editing choices are slim, though, and the choices of designs of the verses are limited. However, I feel pretty confident that more options will be made available as YouVersionBibleLens ’s popularity grows. It is a gem. Another incredible (and free!) app by the You Version team. They are awesome!!

If your not Christian this probably is interesting. It is an inspiration they did a great job. I’m a Christian and this has made me more interested in the Bible and all the Bible verses such as proverbs 18:24 a man of many companions may. One to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother and Corinthians 6:12 I have the right to do anything ,” you say- but not everything is beneficial. I have the right to do anything- but I will not be mastered by anything if you are interested in those verses then check the others out those are only two of the millions of verses. (This sentence is for people who are not Christians) god is good actually god is great I’m not a preacher but he changes you if you were a nonbeliever living in a car and you found god you will find yourself as a believer in a mansion. I can’t name all my other reasons because there is to many to name I hope you like my reasons so go on and have a believing faithful live .remember you are beautiful to god .

I really like the different ways you can frame the picture up. The options are much better than what you can do in the Bible app. But I don’t like the fact that I can’t move the picture inside the frame to highlight a specific part. This is also true if you want to crop a photo. It automatically centers the photo inside your selection. So if you want to move the photo left or right or up or down or resize it in this, you are out of luck.

I would also like the option of selecting my own verse. I know I can basically do that inside the Bible app but the picture options are better in YouVersionBibleLens as I already mentioned.

These are only minor complaints because over all I really like YouVersionBibleLens and it’s really inspiring how it manages to find verses you either didn’t know or didn’t think about to pair with your photo. I admit I’ve only used it to search my existing photo library so I don’t know if the experience is any different with a live camera shot. I hope so since it seems to be geared towards that. Blessings to the developers and keep up the good work.

I just got YouVersionBibleLens about a week ago and have already made several beautiful pictures and sent them to friends and family. I love all the settings and different colors, layouts, filters, and verses you can toggle with to make the picture your own creation.
The one and only issues I’ve had with YouVersionBibleLens so far is the time it takes to find bible verses to match pictures. I know that the Bible is a big book (😂 no kidding) and there’s lots of verses to sort through, but it does take quite a bit of time for YouVersionBibleLens to find a couple verses to match with the picture I’m working with. If you have a little bit of patience this isn’t a big problem though.
I’m in no way complaining, YouVersionBibleLens is AWESOME and I look forwards to all the encouraging, fun pictures I’m going to make with it 😋 give YouVersionBibleLens a try, with just a few spare minutes you’ll make a masterpiece

YouVersionBibleLens is the concept of creating images from Bible verses expanded upon. It’s unique and simple. I think it has potential and I think it should become more of a social app. With followers and things like that and you can save images that your friends made. The Discover page kind of seems like it’s trying to make random Bible verse images because I don’t have any followers yet but I don’t think that’s an option. It’s still a really great app, but I am excited to see where it goes. Also the Technology that takes the contents of your pictures and matches it up to a Bible verse is kind of incredible. I work really well and it made me laugh at some of the pictures they choose. I would definitely recommend YouVersionBibleLens if you find yourself using the YouVersion Bible app to make verse images.

So Bible Lens is great...when it works. Most days it crashes at least once. Then it seems to work fine. The thing I am most disappointed about is that YouVersion doesn’t seem to care. I emailed support because once it would not stop crashing (and it hadn’t been working for a few days) and all they did was have me restart my phone, offload and reload YouVersionBibleLens and then it worked with the exception of crashing every time I opened it for the first time that day. Sometimes it crashes more than once. I’ve never had a problem with YouVersion until now. It’s still a good app, but I’m disappointed with YouVersion for not fixing the problems very well.

Within YouVersionBibleLens itself and what it does, there could be improvements, like more styles, the ability to edit the text, the ability to have more than one verse, and some others. Even so, it’s a fun app. Hopefully one day there will be improvements to make it more interesting and fun.

Great App! Easy to use love being able to use my photos , and use either suggested scripture or search scripture, I can also easily swap between Bible translations for the Verse . I use the KJV and the NIV and compare the two. The more well known verses I use the KJV, other verses I use the translated version to share the versus and pictures . I want to share the Gospel but also have others understand the pictures with the scriptures and maybe somehow they can identify with them in their life . Thank you for YouVersionBibleLens. I downloaded the Bible app a year ago and was surprised when I heard my oldest son say “oh I have the Bible app ,it’s really good” YouVersionBibleLens is also great ! I love them both! 5 stars I’d give 10 if that was an option!

First of all I am completely amazed that an app on my phone can identify items in pictures. Linking Bible verses to subject matter in the picture is incredibly cool even if YouVersionBibleLens sometimes picks a background element instead of your subject matter.

The big problem for me is the lack of ability to choose individual pictures from my camera roll. The user interface gives you two options for applying YouVersionBibleLens : 1. Live photos as you take them or 2. A “discover” mode in which YouVersionBibleLens auto selects three pics from your camera roll.

1. As a photographer I always want to keep an original non modified pic as a backup before editing anything so the live mode is of very limited use.

2. I have over 1,000 pics in my camera roll but there are only around 10% of those I want to use Bible Lens on currently and the random discover mode has not picked any high priority ones. Giving the user a third option to choose which stored images to use would make YouVersionBibleLens infinitely more useful.

3. YouVersionBibleLens is not iPad friendly in the way pics are displayed. Any quality pics I want to edit, crop and/or fine tune I do on my iPad for the larger display. YouVersionBibleLens is functional on the iPad but viewing the results requires to drag each pic to the center of the view box to see all of it.

Very cool app that has the potential to be truly great!

I love YouVersionBibleLens and am on it almost all the time! Love the fonts and designs and how it allows you to choose photos from your phone, (the photos that you haven’t taken on YouVersionBibleLens ). The reason why I gave it a four star instead of a five is because of the way I don’t have an option to search my own bible verses. I still like the suggested verses. I just think that it would be nice if I wasn’t obligated to use one of them. Another thing I would change is to have it more like a social media app like have friends or followers, and the followers being able to like and comment on them, but in a social media kind of way. Another thing I would love is to “verse GIFs”, like the same thing as verse images just with GIFs :) . But other than that I love it and would totally recommend YouVersionBibleLens!!

App started off well with a easy to use interface, and intuitive operation. Loved that it suggested bible verses for random pictures and then let you customize the look from colors and filters to font styles, and colors as well. For the last few months however, YouVersionBibleLens only gives errors. Won’t load images from camera roll, won’t load app fully and errors when trying to maneuver between any page aside from the home page. Force closed YouVersionBibleLens , signed out, and now it won’t even allow me to sign back in without an error message. I’d like to believe this is an isolated incident and still look forward to using YouVersionBibleLens once resolved. My thought is that is needs updated to be compatible with iOS 12.4. However iOS 13 is right around the corner so. We’ll see.

I love YouVersionBibleLens! It not only chooses pictures that I didn’t even know still existed on my phone, but also places just the right Bible verse to describe it! I have shared some of them with family. They love it as well! I love that you can edit the placement of the text, font style and color! Best “scripture and photo” app I’ve had the pleasure to find.... PLUS IT’s free!!!!!! You have the option to get a notification daily to see what it has chosen..... I love that!! It also gives you the option to turn off notifications for those that don’t like notifications. I can’t say enough great things about YouVersionBibleLens❤️

I use this, along with my You Version Bible App, every morning and I love it. I always enjoyed saving scripture and editing...but I wished I could use my own photos...and now I can! It is a beautiful, fun, and special way to enjoy special moments wrapped in God’s word. My one tiny complaint (that I find very annoying) is after YouVersionBibleLens prepares my photos with scripture, if I don’t save them soon, it closes my Bible app when I try to open them. I find this very frustrating as I see them every morning and want to clean up the collection without deleting them, and I am repeatedly thwarted until I give up.
Thank you for developing YouVersionBibleLens- it is a gem! Hopefully, it is simply something I am doing and not a widespread issue for others.

I just got YouVersionBibleLens, but really like it thus far! Great concept, SUPER easy to use and navigate, and runs really smooth. How cool to be able to have Bible versus applied automatically to MY own photos! My one hope, if possible, is to update YouVersionBibleLens with the ability/option to choose an “emotion” for the photo(ie. happiness, sorrow, joy, friendship, fear, etc) in order to streamline the bible versus a little more towards the emotions in the picture, and my other suggestion might be to be able to input a verse into the picture that we may already have in mind for the picture. YouVersionBibleLens is wonderful, thank you!!!

Love the basic simplicity. It’s a great way to evangelize by sharing photos, and that's the most important feature of YouVersionBibleLens! Great job YouVersion! As YouVersionBibleLens develops, I’d like to see more verses available to choose from (they tend to be the same ones over and over); an option to add your favorite verse; more options/customization for the background/mat color and the font style and font color. I’d be willing to pay for a premium version to have more options, like other photo editing apps do. (Most are between &1.99-$4.99 ann. subscription).
Bottom line—a fun, creative and easy to use app to add the Word of God to your photos to share with friends, family and on social media to spread God’s love and encouragement.

As soon as I saw YouVersionBibleLens advertised in my You version Bible app I knew it was a must have for sharing the gospel in social media! This is super creative and the layouts are so crisp and current. Each of the editing updates that have been added make YouVersionBibleLens even better. The only thing I wish they would add is the ability to choose the exact scriptures you want to add. There is usually a great selection, but there have been a couple times that God has laid something on my heart to share with a specific verse in mind. YouVersionBibleLens is usually one of my first stops to create an eye catching photo to go with the message, but sometimes I am unable to find the scripture I am looking for.
