If you like ads… Part 2

This is the game for them. Played 5 games after installing this; got treated to an ad after EVERY GAME. After the fifth game, the same ad ran TWICE in a row, then hung at a black screen. Too bad. Don’t like the ads? $24 per year. That’s why they don’t want to just put a price tag on CastleSolitaire - it’s only a one-time purchase. Instead, you can subscribe to an ad-free experience for $24 every year. Sorry… not into subscriptions. Or extortion. UPDATE: After a few weeks of trying to play, my opinion has only gotten worse. Three games, then iPad freezes up. Or restarts. Every time. If you really need to bombard people with ads, at least get them to work properly. If other Mobility games are like this, forget it. I attempted several times to contact the, through their “in-game” support links, but they’re useless - so maybe they’ll read this. On second thought, after looking at all the other negative reviews, it looks like they simply have an auto-reply that answers nothing.

Where did the puzzle piece go

I noticed recently that you added goal to the game and I have not seen the puzzle piece since. I really enjoyed playing the game each day for the puzzle piece so I could make a puzzle background. I had just started a new puzzle. I have not been a big fan of the goal feature as I have several other games that I play so when you added the goals I normally just do the daily puzzle and move to my next game. Also as I had played the game daily to get the puzzle piece when you added the daily goals now I have to go back and do all the games again I feel upset about that. As for a paid version I cannot pay to play so I just wait the 5 seconds and find the x I do sometimes see some interesting information that I check out later. I have accepted the goals in all of your games but I don’t like it and if I don’t have the time I don’t play the goals and just do the daily challenge.

Longer adds is a deal breaker for me

I love this game! It’s one of my favorite. You have advertised that we can exit out of the adds after 5 seconds, and until lately that has been true. I am ok with that. But just in the last few days this has changed. Any ad that has a yellow time bar at the bottom of the screen is un-exitable. (I know that’s not a word.) so we’re stuck watching 45 + seconds of ads (with all the little extra 5 second extras) for as little as 20 seconds of game play, which is how long it takes to do a challenge level, and there is an ad between each level. That is a ridiculous 2:1 ratio of ad to game play. Until you fix that I’m looking elsewhere for my game time. Also, could you add some more maps? I’ve done each one dozens of times. It’s ridiculous.

Terrible Temu ad **Update

I have been playing this game for ages & haven't minded the ads…until you added this Temu ad. It comes up every single time after each game and is terribly hard to get out of. Hit the X and it goes to their website! X out again & same thing, hit the X and back to their website, takes about 3 tries after every single game to get out & back to a new game. This really is a 4 star game but due to this new ad I have to delete this game. Maybe I will download it again some time in the future to see if this ad is gone. Bye.
**Update: I deleted CastleSolitaire . Waited a week & downloaded it again. So far it is working ok in x-ing out of the ads and that horrible Temu ad hasn’t appeared ….. yet. If it does I will delete App again.

Great game but problematic ads

This is a highly entertaining solitaire game that is fun to play, as are most of the Mobility solitaire games. Unfortunately, this one has a few problems which is why I am giving it 3 stars instead of 5. It does not have an ad-free purchase option, which most Mobility games do, so for most of the hands you play, you’re going to have to watch two ads that have the annoying tiny close “x” in the corner that you have to hunt for.

My primary complaint, however, is that if you choose the no sound option, some of these ads still play sound. That makes this game of limited use to me which is a shame because I really like it.

I would purchase an ad free version if it were available.

Love the game, hate the ads

I’m here to add another voice to the request for an ad-free version of the game. I love the game and love the card animations when I win, but having multiple ads between games every single time is just too much! I fully understand the developer needing to make money from the game, as they should, but why not add an option, as practically every other ad-based game has, to pay a one-time fee to no longer have to see the ads? That’s still making money from the game. I would pay as much as $5 for that. Plenty of people will continue to choose the free version with LOTS of ads, and some people, like me, would at least have a choice. Of course there is also the choice to just stop playing it on principle. I don’t feel I can recommend this game to anyone, and only because of the ads.

Challenges need work

I play several Mobility games each day. I look forward to the daily challenges. What is driving me crazy is that the events are now the same on each game. It might be easier for you, but it’s boring for me. I don’t want to earn the same badge multiple times. So now when I see an event I only play it on one game (usually Castle, my favorite). Why not tailor them to fit the theme? In Castle you could earn weapons, armor, coats of arms, or even famous battles, etc.. Maybe in Mahjong you could earn Terra Cotta warriors or something. Personalize it to fit the theme, or-I just play a lot less.

Castle

I have a complaint which is true of all of your games that I play. The goals are always there but usually I only worry about beating the present day and getting the jeweled crown. I do go back to get any missed days without a jewel but still a crown. I’m aware of how the goals work but right now I play about 15 different games and my personal goal is to play each one at least once per day. The problem I have with goals is when the pop up comes on the screen saying I’m halfway thru a goal. The pop up still startles me even though I’ve been playing these games for over a year. It breaks my train of thought and many times obscures the move I’m trying to make. It’s gotten so I hate it instead of appreciating the update. Something calmer or less jarring would be better for me. I realize I’m only one person but I thought I would share my reaction. When it happened just now while playing Castle it actually upset my stomach.

MobilityWare

Hey, it’s MobilityWare. So far, anyway, they have the best made games with the least ad interruption/crash in the business. Free Cell is still my fav, but I love them all!
I also like the car games with arrows. I don’t recall the author. And Hexagon games.
I’m 68 yrs & I still drive & balance a checkbook. My hubby doesn’t like anything but Klondike Solitaire. He had several games (no MobilityWare) but got discouraged by all the ads and crashes. He no longer drives, no longer READS!!! And is no longer able to use a calculator.
Variety and MobilityWare are the secrets to successful aging, imho. (“In my humble opinion” for those of you who cannot keep up anymore).

Love several Mobility Ware games but.....

I want to play this (and several others) the way I want to challenge myself. Not the way you think I should challenge myself. Cognitively, I am doing the best I can. I am working on my speed and desire to stay at the same level until I beat my best time. You automatically up the level unless I don’t play the game the rest of the day. I believe it is like three wins and then I can’t play unless I ok an upper level. One of your games was my favorite and I wanted to work on speed. Going a long with upping the level so I could continue working on it became so hard I had to delete it. Is there a solution?

I enjoy this game but the ads are crashing it

I play this game daily to get the little jeweled crowns. I really like the new twist with the country maps and the different suits winning the areas within the country. Unfortunately, there is a recently developed issue with CastleSolitaire on my iPad. It is also true with the Addiction app. Ads come up, I watch the required amount of time, then try to move on. In the last week or two, I have had to restart the apps repeatedly as it locks up during the ad. It started off slowly, but now happens as much as 2 out of 3 ads, where I have to close CastleSolitaire and start it again.

Great Game … but …

I play many Mobility games, so I decided to try this one. I like this one because it is very simple. I enjoy playing the game of the day and getting the puzzle piece of the day, but then I am finished for the day. The developers need to add interest to keep me playing beyond the 2 games a day. They need to add something to the “war of castles” to conquer the country. When a country has been conquered by a color, you just move on to the next country. There is absolutely nothing to keep my interest past the 2 games/day. That is the reason for my 4-star review rather than a 5-star.

Winning is in your control

The thing I love most about this game is that winning is in your control more than any other solitaire game. Even if you dead-end, you can back up a bunch and try a different choice, and repeat until you win. I’ve encountered maybe 1 game out of 25 that were possibly unwinnable. (Or I don’t have the skill yet, though it’s building steadily.) MobilityWare’s other game Addiction Solitaire also puts winning more in your control but not as much as this one.
The thing I love second-most is that the gameplay is so polished and pleasing.
The third is that it doesn’t eat battery life as much as other games.

Love the game but that win screen is a Fever Dream!!

I love the game and highly recommend it! It’s very well made, the amount of ads aren’t overbearing, and I haven’t encountered a single bug. I played the solitaire app you guys made first and was delighted to find this game too. Really, great game! But whoever designed that 3D, animated, dancing card-human has created a monster straight out of one of my fever dreams. I both love and hate that victory animation with a passion. It is hilarious; and yet, it fills me with the sense of dread one might feel when faced with an unknown entity of substantial power and magnificence. 10/10 best/worst victory screen animation!

Adding to my previous review

I keep thinking I should have also added these:
1) I am digging the goals and challenges in the game! I tend to not like goals & challenges in other games because they get in the way of gameplay… castle seamlessly integrates both and I look forward to new goals and challenges it serves up!!

2) love the animation of the cards at the end of every level!! The developers do a great job with these! They’re fun & sometimes surprising!! Lots of dancing people, I do like mostly the windmills, swords fighting, etc. the dancing people… there are so many of them that they’ve become too commonplace at the 100+ levels I’m on!!

Bet your advertisers!

I really enjoy this game, but I'm close to deleting it. Most advertisers are pretty good with maybe 3 screens to X out of and then back to the game. Some are even one screen only! But every once in a while you get an advertiser that just won't let go. Hit the X and it STILL goes to CastleSolitaire Store. Right now, Credit Karma will not release the screen. I've tried a half dozen times or more. Hit the X and, lo and behold, in an instant, CastleSolitaire Store AND then Safari opens. Don't let these people do this because every OTHER advertiser loses out and, eventually, you'll lose me.

Very fair ad policy!

Play is quick, and while every game is winnable (I'm pretty sure..), they aren't easy, but you can replay and just one different card choice can take you to a win! As far as the ads, this company obviously limits the time an ad can display, resulting in a much 'kinder' ad pause between rounds! I'm sure this loses them monies, but buys them loyalty from me, that's for sure! ^.^
PS: yes Mobility, your team did a great job on graphics! ^.^
(& respected my request for no sounds so completely that even the ads are silent!!! Thank You! Thank You! ^.^)

MobilityWare games are TOPS!

I love playing all of the MW card games - there are 8 that I play at least 1 round of every day just to get the jeweled crown 😊 It’s little extras like that which make MW games superior to all the rest, like the options for backgrounds & faces - and I love having my husband’s photo as my card back 🥰 The winning animations are SO amazing - the dancing card people crack me up! Thanks for adding the collections to some games; I can re-watch my favorite animations or show them to others. SOOOO many reasons to love MobilityWare games! Great work, y’all! ♥️

Elderly fun

I like this game a lot. I tend to play it every day and really enjoy now that I can keep a streak, especially like design, which makes it both simple and challenging as well as fast-paced. I tend to like to do the goals and try and get all four of them in one deal, I liked it. There was an ad free version that I could get which keeps the pace even smoother. I also really like the success rate being pretty high and yet some great challenges Daily and then I can decide what level I feel particularly challenged by. I’m a little bit older, but young at heart and I think this definitely keeps my brain pretty sharp. Thanks to whoever developed this. It really is quite smooth and enjoyable.

Hope all wrote so far if at all makes sense or mostly does without much or any confusion

I enjoy playing most/many games as this is isn’t my first time playing this one but REALLY ENJOY playing it though too. I GREATLY enjoy having the ability to undo choices made that way could correct errors made that way would feel more accomplished in doing something positive(obviously rather than feeling useless after making careless mistakes that would regret making/doing!!!
