After the last update, OmanTaxi just logged out of my account and now won't send SMS to my phone. It's impossible to log back in, and reaching support is unrealistic. Moreover, many of my acquaintances are facing the same issue.

The service didn’t work at my hotel in Hawana. When I hailed a car, the driver would call and ask for a rate higher than what is written on OmanTaxi . Then when I asked him to honor the price on OmanTaxi , he would simply cancel. And when I finally did hail a taxi, the driver wouldn’t follow the map on OmanTaxi .
Only use OmanTaxi if you want a good laugh or need to be irritated.
I was in Muscat for 4 days. I tried to use otaxi 5 times. 4 times I could never get a driver to come. They kept canceling - literally 5, 6 times they would cancel. The one time it worked the driver canceled in app and I just drove with him and paid him cash. It’s a good price if you can actually get someone to pick you up....
Changing my review from 3 to 4 stars. Use of bank cards is now possible, and the drivers are getting better at using OmanTaxi . Prices are still good. The maps could be better. Some roads in the Al Mouj neighborhood are missing and it confuses the drivers. Almost perfect!

I have used OTAXI for a few months now and it more or less works as described. One thing to note is that only cash is accepted — no bank cards! So if you are looking for something that works like Uber, this is not it. You still need cash in your pocket to ride. OmanTaxi description says you can “use cash or card, as you wish” which is not true. It would be better (more honest) to just say “cash only” and note that bank card use is coming later. Also, drivers do cancel a lot and during peak hours it can be very hard to get a taxi using OmanTaxi. Good to have a backup option. Other than that, the prices are good and most drivers are friendly.
Easy and simple to use. Very convenient and good prices. Drivers I’ve got so far were very friendly and polite with clean cars.
1 star less since the pink (female) taxi doesn’t have enough drivers and you often have to wait 15-20min for it. Hope this can be fixed soon!
Before, the map was more accurate.
Otaxi economy taxis are restricted in where they can pickup clients. So for instance if you order a car in the hotel, you can I’ll be limited to a luxury car that can cost over 2x the normal orange taxis.

I am fascinated by the application how easy it is to handle and easy to book you’re ride.
lThe App is good and theapp service is also good. but some drivers are just annoying. complaining about small traffic, crossroads and anything’s they can complain about. they better mot let passengers hear it. we dont control traffic not anything in the road. we just want to atrive atbour destination.

OmanTaxi has been a life saver, I don’t even have to think twice about ordering a cap when I don’t have a car.
Only room of improvement could be like a chat space in app in between driver & costumer to make it easy to communicate.
Simple and effective app. For tourists: you cannot request a taxi from a hotel, you must set the pickup point to somewhere close by instead. This is due to arrangements most hotels have with other taxi partners.
Like another reviewer wrote, this is the Uber of Muscat. Pre-load your credit card, and it’s the perfect way to explore the vast distances of Muscat. So happy to have used OmanTaxi bc the rates quoted by drivers while I was not using OmanTaxi were much higher.
