Exactly what I need with one minor bug

I‘m using the Pro version as part of a free trial because I really wanted to try the custom timers. After setting up a HIIT workout with a bunch of named exercises, I found the flexibility of the timers to be perfect for my workout. Unfortunately, I have a few exercises where I need to switch from left to right halfway through, and the halfway beep sound doesn’t appear to work. Other than this one issue, IntervalTimer is exactly what I was looking for. The customizable sounds help distinguish between different parts of the workout, even with music playing. The colors are easy on the eyes and the overall design is very clean and intuitive. I’ve tried a bunch of other workout/interval timer apps and this is the best by far.

Awesome timer and great tech support

I had been trying different timers and I really liked this one because you can do a 16 minute routine with 4 sub routines within it (basically, it beeps you every 4 minutes). Well, at least that’s my timer routine so I bought the lifetime membership and it was great. But something happened a month or so later and it started showing me the nag screen (the one that offers you different rates). So that got old fast. So I wrote up a support question. *Bert* immediately emailed back (well, at least within 48 hours) and, I’m not gonna lie. It took some time but, after a few weeks, they were able to come out with a (literally) bug-free version. Yay Bert and the awesome developers of IntervalTimer!! My thanks guys. ~ Joey

5 star app with one annoying quirk

Edit: TOGGLING THE NOTIFICATIONS WORKED! Raising my score back to 5 stars where it deserves to be. Thank you!

Original review: I’m dealing with an injury so my workout routine is on hiatus for a few weeks. Despite this, every morning at 8AM I get a reminder on my phone encouraging me to workout. Some months ago it felt like it knew my routine and would ask me to workout if I missed a specific time, but now it’s everyday without fail. The worst part is I can’t find a way to turn it off without risking losing the background notifications if I switch apps to adjust music. I’ve been using it for a year and hope to continue using it but the constant nagging to workout during my time off is killing me.

Great App!

IntervalTimer has been perfect for my at-home workouts. My only suggestion is for them to allow you to reset the number of total intervals you have done p/workout. For instance, I currently am doing a HIIT workout that includes 5 moves, done for 45 seconds on with 30 seconds rest between. When I finish, it’s telling me my accumulated intervals from the very first workout I ever did with IntervalTimer , rather than just the 5 rounds I’m trying to keep track of this one day. An additional option of adding how many rounds p/workout would be dope!

Seems simple which is good

I’d love some moreCustomization of this sounds, and for the free version I would like to have maybe three timers or so. Then you’d be able to put it through its paces before deciding whether you want to sign up for a subscription. Otherwise there’s a lot of interaction with IntervalTimer itself.

In the workout calendar, it should show also whatever the title you’ve named the timer, not just how long the work and break periods were, and how many reps - include the name we gave it.

The rest periods should not jump from 5 seconds to 10 seconds. Allow us to choose in there.

Perfect, even without paying

This timer is actually amazing. When I first got it I just assumed it would be like every other app and just spam you with ads. This is app though is different, it allows you to make a new timer and use them and you only get like 1 add every other time you open it which is extremely surprising. Props for the devs, well done with IntervalTimer I’ll definitely be supporting it with a purchase later on.

Have to repurchase

I like the timer but I have had to “re- purchase “ it every time I use it. The purchase screen continues to be the first thing I see every time I open it. I bought the lifetime but it defaults to the 1 year subscription so I’m afraid it will try to charge me for a changed subscription if I accidentally click the highlighted button at the bottom before changing the subscription type back to lifetime which I’m sure is the scam. It does not seem to charge me again when I click the lifetime button again but it is pretty annoying to do every time I use IntervalTimer after paying $9.

Very good, a few flaws

I purchased IntervalTimer to support my home physical therapy program. From my PT point of view, there are 2 flaws: #1. Many PT exercises require less than the current minimum of 5 seconds of " work" and "rest". For example, supine hip abductions require me to hold for 2 seconds (work), then 1 second of rest, repeating 30 times. So, it would be helpful to include 0:01, 0:02, 0:03; and 0:04 in the Work and Rest sliders. #2. IntervalTimer could be more helpful if users like me could "drag and drop" to change the order that the workouts are displayed, to coincide with the order the exercises should be performed. #. With these enhancements, my rating would be 5 stars.

Fine app, shady ratings

When I tried to click on the calendar feature, to see a history of workouts, it told me to unlock that feature I had to rate IntervalTimer 5 stars, which I am NOT cool with. My real review is below and I’m factoring in the fact that many of these ratings may be inflated to unlock that feature...

IntervalTimer is fine (though I’ve only used it twice) — the interface is nice, but I do wish you could schedule rest periods that didn’t necessarily have to be regular (for instance, one of my workouts calls for three 30 second sessions of working, one 30 second break, and one more session, but I can’t do that in IntervalTimer so I’m just manually remembering when to rest.)

Liking it so far!

I like the layout and the notifications are noticeable but not annoying. Def try it out for your workouts. One suggestion would be to add the ability to edit the calendar section. It allows me to type/edit but won’t save and won’t allow me to scroll as I type. This led me to typing it out on my notes app but it didn’t save when I pasted it to IntervalTimer. I’d love to be able to keep track of my circuits with IntervalTimer!

Great App for Tracking Intervald

IntervalTimer allows for the setting of a workout time and a break while giving the ability to continue to cycle. Which is much better than resetting 20 second timers. Though I think IntervalTimer should all the beeping sounds during the workout period and break period to alert the user of the shift, because some excercises go back to back. This feature would making tracking your position in the workout even better.

Love the app!

The free version of IntervalTimer is definitely basic but the functionality and the options available to customizing to suite your workout is nice. I’ve been using IntervalTimer for about a year now and it has helped me to not only keep track of my time but it transfer the content of my workout automatically to my Health app (iOS iPhone User). I plan to keep using IntervalTimer as it’s free version surpasses the competition.

I’ve tried them all, this is best

I’ve tried all the interval timers, and as a fitness coach I pick this one. It’s simple easy to use interface is great, and you pay once for pro version, none of this subscription nonsense. As a professional I will never use subscription services, I know how every dollar ads up. Buy IntervalTimer as long as they continue to offer one time purchase.

Great, but persistant ducking issue

Ever since the big recent redesign, my 8-set workout will always duck (drop background music volume) for the entirety of the 5th set. Past comments have noted this bug and there was an indication that 3.17.1 would solve it, but I’m on version 3.17.1 and the issue is still there.

I’m also not a fan of the new Completed splash screen...I preferred old large-font, less info layout. But, no big deal, just a personal preference.

Otherwise a great app and worth the Pro upgrade.

Very good, one or two flaws

Most interval apps are incredibly clunky. The interface for IntervalTimer is very smooth, once you take a couple m minutes to learn it — the interface is pretty intuitive, but it won’t hold your hand if you’re having trouble figuring it out. More importantly, after updating this morning, IntervalTimer isn’t reliably making sounds anymore! I hope they catch this and patch it.

Interval timer

I was looking for so long for a timer like this. I had gone through so many. This is the only one that makes noises when transitioning, gives you rest time, and lets you repeat and save for later. I am so glad I found this. I never even rate apps but I just got done w my first workout w this and it is so motivating. Couldn’t have been more happy.

Trying to contact developer

I found a bug. I have to leave this as a review because there is no way to contact the developer directly unless i have email set up on my iPhone. Which i don't. I bought IntervalTimer. It says purchased in settings. However, every single time i open it, it pulls up the purchase screen. Why did i spend $9 to have to continuously see this screen? Please fix this bug for those of us who are trying to support IntervalTimer .

It’s Simple and Easy

Basically I’m doing this to unlock a calendar to track my progress and motivate me. Already did two home chest workouts so far and it was useful. First of all, you can play music while doing this which is cool. Plus there’s a countdown timer till your next set before rest which dings so that’s great. Plus, no ads encountered so far!

By

No complaints

I’ve been using the free version for almost 2 years now and it works well. I feel like the developers try to actually make it better with the updates. I usually turn the wifi off though when I work out so the ads won’t bother me.
Thanks for having a free version that works perfectly and doesn’t require a subscription!

Best Interface of all Tiner Apps

Love the large, clean interface for this timer. Very easy to see the time remaining and press pause quickly. I also appreciate the unobtrusive timer audio alerts (beeps), so I can continue listening to music while working out. My only complaint is that IntervalTimer has no Apple watch widget. So I cannot start timer from watch or check status from wrist.

Cool app, but “unlimited” to its extent

For a premium payment, customers and users should be able to name each of their own work out, not just the title.
Some aren’t able to remember circuits of workouts (unless wrote it down on the board or a piece of paper) and it would just be handy to have it showing on the screen when the timer is going in each set.
Hopefully this little voice gets heard! Awesome app though!

Great, simple tool

This is the kinda app I love. Simple to use, intuitive, and no BS. I needed an interval timer, this is an interval timer. You can name and store different interval sets with different set count, duration and rest times.

One thing I would love would be if I could make an interval set have different length time slots if I wanted. So like 30sec, 10rest x 5 sets then 1 set of 1 minute for example.

As it stands this is a great app 10/10

Absolutely Perfect!

I had looked at some other workout timer apps that always didn’t have one thing I needed, but when I opened up IntervalTimer I was astonished to find it looking good, IntervalTimer had the workout time, rest time, at it had repeat time, when you start it even had a countdown to let you get setup, and most of all it was was easy to use. Thankyou!

Great simple interval timer

I’m recovering from an injury and need to be able to adjust a timer to my needs. This is exactly what I needed— so simple and easy to use.

Full disclosure: I had to rate IntervalTimer 5 stars to access the workout history, but I also stand by my review and would rate it 5 stars anyway (I just probably would have been to lazy to post it).

Pretty useful for interval workout

It’s just sometimes when I have background music going on and it’s about to start the workout timer, the background music for some reason goes softer volume. To fix this you just have to double tap the home page and then click on IntervalTimer again.

Straightforward Interval App

No frills or gimmicks, IntervalTimer gives it to you straight, which is how interval timers should work IMO. A couple things I’d like to see added:
-Sound that works in conjunction with other audio apps (i.e. iTunes, Podcast, Audible, etc.) so the user doesn’t have to switch back and forth to restart the other audio whenever an interval timer sounds.
-A timer on the lock screen.

Great and simple app

Workout Timer ++ is a simple timer app that is more fine tuned to bodybuilding and exercising than the default iOS stopwatch. Its fairly simple to use and everything runs well. They did a very good job making IntervalTimer very simple and functions great. I would recommend this comepletely. 10/10

Best interval timer I’ve used.

I tried several interval times for my HIIT workouts and this one is by far the best in my option. The unique design for the sliders to select reps and times are really nice and it’s very easy to use. When you’re in the middle of a workout and you want to adjust something, simple is best. IntervalTimer nails it! A+

Simple and Effective

Of the three HIIT timers I downloaded, I deleted two of them almost instantly. This one, on the other hand, is super easy to use and effective. I especially love the 3 second count down at the end of each rest period so I know to get myself together for the next set! Highly recommend!

I like big numbers & I cannot lie

IntervalTimer is super easy to use. Love the big numbers. The only thing I don’t like is the lag when I end an interval before going into rest time. There is also a lag when switching to and from IntervalTimer . Other than that, I like how easy it was to get to work.

By

Easy to use

I really enjoy this interval timer. It’s a lot easier to use than other interval timer apps I’ve downloaded. The only problem I’ve encountered is not being able to adjust or move timers around once they’ve been created. I have timers set for specific exercises and I’d like to move them around if needed to follow a specific sequence.
