So far the Tabata Timer is easy and intuitive to use. Adjusting workouts after you’ve made them is simple and straight forward. The large numbers and color coding makes it easy to know when to work and rest. It would be nice if the free version allowed more saved workouts. Bought the premium version and I’m very happy with it. It has help greatly in my rehabilitation exercises. The option to add your own music playlist helps to keep the workouts interesting and engaging.
Workouts made easier!
My workouts mainly consist of lifting but I love incorporating different things like interval training! I used to have to stare at a clock but this app makes it so much easier. I can do an entire session without having to look at the app or a clock because the different sounds tell me when to switch and when to rest. Highly recommend it and it’s free!
Best Tabata/interval timer!!
I have spent years going through different types of timers for interval workouts and this is the easiest and most efficient one yet! Oh can customise your timer to your workout exactly from warm up to time in between, etc. It’s so easy to use and easy to change if you switch up workouts often. So glad I found this and it’s free!!!
Great for climbing training!
I use this app to time my hang board training sessions. A must have if you train for rock climbing. It is way more adjustable than another climbing specific app I had tried. And I love how it chimes with the last three seconds counting down to zero. It gives me an auditory heads up as to the exact moment I should be pulling up on or releasing from the hang board.
Absolute best timer app available. Some things don’t work as described - skip rest between sets and intervals doesn’t work and the rest will still be timed. A copy/paste or repeat of the workout would be a nice feature. I like to adjust timing intervals in the 2nd set without having to manually input each exercise again just to adjust the time. Paid subscription is ABSOLUTELY worth it!
I love that I don’t have to make sure I packed my gym boss interval timer. With this app it’s on my phone and always with me. I started with just the basic 2 and loved it so much I paid for the upgrade. It’s absolutely worth it! This app works alongside my Pandora so I don’t ever have to choose. It just ‘runs in the background’. I highly recommend this app!
Just stay motivated on this app. Choice your workouts before hand and trust me you will have an positive effect. I did this for one month every other day and it worked great. My food was just no pop and candy and eat protein and stay low on carbs. Like I said I did it for a month and I can easily see my abs.
I’m new to the fitness world and this timer has definitely proven to be a helpful tool! It’s easy to customize intervals — whether it’s altering the time or renaming each period. The colors and graphics are lovely. . Once you get used to the interface, it’s very user-friendly! My one complaint is that it only allows two saved workouts for the free version
Great for HIIT
I’m a bootcamp instructor and personal trainer and this has been a great timer for my sessions and classes. It’s simple and also customizable. My clients love it because they are able to hear the loud songs and whistles that start and stop the work and rest times and even use it themselves to train on their own with!
As someone who avidly exercises/stretches, this app is for lack of a better phrase, “heaven sent”. The functionality and ease of use is superb and it has a simple yet attractive interface. Paying for all the functions to be unlocked is also very affordable and well worth the investment. I am thrilled that this app exists!
Better than others
It’s better than other timers. The only function I wish it had was display on the lock screen. However, that function might be available on the paid version.
Exactly what I was looking for
This is perfect for my stretching routine. I can customize it to fit my exact needs. I like you can change the tones for different activities. I don’t need to continually watch the screen, I can just listen for the tones to know exactly where I am in the program
I haven’t used this with my clients but already I am smiling. I love the thought you put into this. The midway sound is super cool. Seems this will be very easy to use which is so important when in the middle of a session. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to get my timers to work.

This app I use every single time I workout because it’s much easier than using a stop watch and I love when it makes that sound when it’s at three especially when I am doing something hard and want to come down but I can’t. This app is so awesome!!!
Tabata app is great
Not having to keep time myself and forgetting which number I’m on is fabulous. Although I swear the seconds are longer than my seconds. Especially at about round 6! Ha. I use the app for any exercise I want to focus on in my workout. Rowing and planks and standing knee bends, one leg and two.
