APP misinforms about chem trails

CloudSpotter seems like a deliberate attempt to misinform the public about chem trails, calling them contrails.

CANT UPLOAD EXISTING PHOTOS!

it’s a great app, but you can only save photos to CloudSpotter by using CloudSpotter itself. you can’t upload previously taken photos. very disappointing.

Can’t submit photos easily

CloudSpotter used to be amazing but it no longer allows you to submit photos taken earlier or with another camera this means if you have a professional camera or even if you want to use the camera settings on your phone, you can’t. You are required to take the photo within CloudSpotter , which gives you more limited camera functions, and categorize the cloud in that moment. This transition happened without warning while I was traveling internationally. I was disappointed when I returned home that I couldn’t upload any of my cloud photos from my trip.

Downloaded for previous Photos

I saw CloudSpotter mentioned in a Reddit post about clouds and love collecting apps to identify aspects of the natural world, but was severely disappointed to realize that I cannot upload already existing photos onto CloudSpotter to identify clouds on. I live in an area with a semi-common occurrence of Asperitas clouds, and wanted to document the times I’ve caught it on camera. However, I cannot do that as I can’t upload old pictures. Very disappointing and I guess I’ll just delete CloudSpotter because I have little use for it in the summer.

Almost great, but has serious issues

CloudSpotter has the potential to be a great cloud spotting app. However, it has what appears to be a serious bug. When spotting clouds, it does not save what you’ve spotted. There is a location in CloudSpotter to view spotted clouds, but no matter how you spot/identify a cloud, they never are saved to CloudSpotter .

Aside from that, there is a serviceable ai cloud identifier in CloudSpotter , but this often misidentifies. For learners, this can be frustrating.

Additionally, there does not seem to be any user community on CloudSpotter . In other words, you cannot view other users clouds, or have another user identify your cloud.

All together, CloudSpotter sort of works but has some serious issues.

The AI is dumb

I tried putting in a cumulonimbus picture and the ai said it was a contrail cloud when u can literally see the cumulonimbus anvil shape 💀 contrail looks nothing like the picture i put in

Can’t Report Clouds

Im a huge fan and member of the CAS, but CloudSpotter has a flaw / error in that it doesn’t let you report spotted clouds. The developers need to fix it.

Good for the pictures and IDs -that’s it

If you want to enjoy the pictures and to identify clouds and optical effects, this is great. If you actually want to participate in the society, this is terrible. There is no info under the profile. You can’t see your groups at all, or get your messages. It’s also a huge PITA to log in (why do I have to log in to CloudSpotter ? It isn’t like this is my bank).

Bring back the badges and stars

I miss the challenge of the old this app app… not so much fun anymore 😕

Amazing for beginners

I’m fairly new to cloud identifying, and CloudSpotter has a plethora of information! I’ve had a blast “spotting” and recording clouds in CloudSpotter . Other than being a little laggy, I’ve experienced no bugs. I recommend!

Cannot report a cloud

When i either upload or take a picture of a cloud theres no option to report it

I hope you can see

1 Can you join Chinese?Because there are many cloud lovers in China.
2Can you automatically identify the category of clouds in uploaded photos?
3Thank you very much for your contribution.

I agree i wish we could put pins

i hope we can put pins on the next update for CloudSpotter
