More hustle than its worth...

While LGWiFiSpeaker works it’s setup and functionality could be better described to minimize confusion. Firstly it offers just a few more setting beyond what you can do with just your remote. It does require turning your bar to wifi mode and if you switch to anything else you loose its functionality. So if you want to adjust anything using LGWiFiSpeaker you need to switch bar mode to WiFi (with your... remote you guessed it, loosing sound for that moment) and after adjustment go back to for instance hdmi or Bluetooth or whatever mode you were in. Maybe there is another way but I have not discovered that. At this point I question why I need LGWiFiSpeaker. It is more hustle than it is worth for I guess the only extra feature I noticed is it’s ability to turnoff sending “diagnostic data” to LG... and once you do that you can just delete LGWiFiSpeaker and stick to remote. Further I in vain expected LGWiFiSpeaker to show my subwoofer as the setup icon features just a sound bar alone... stupid me. I spend some time till I realized that this is it and no need to setup subwoofer separately. It will connect automatically. A more extensive both help section and better written sound bar manual explaining the setup would not entirely be out of place here.

Seems to work pretty seamlessly

I haven’t had the SK9Y sound bar for long, but it seems to be working well. I updated the software and initially the speaker disappeared from LGWiFiSpeaker , but when I turned the speaker back to Wi-Fi and it immediately showed back up, already connected to LGWiFiSpeaker .

I love that when I stream music from an app on my phone the speaker recognizes that, such as Pandora.

I’m still getting used to the speaker and app, but so far so good!

Feature Request: saved audio profiles

LGWiFiSpeaker works great for extending control over the speaker. There is one small annoyance that it refreshes a lot and frequently does not see the speaker for a few seconds.

It would be great if I could save and select a small number or profiles for different scenarios. All the settings should be available for a given profile. So I’d have different profiles for music, tv, movies, etc. and then maybe a few more for different types of music if there was room.

Stuck at Connect to Wi-Fi network page

After 13.1.2 update the is working again. That means that Apple doesn’t want to do the business properly. With all the money they have no way we should see the issues like this. I don’t want to be an Apple customer and hope people will move away from Apple too.

Sometimes totally wrong with LG software developers. I would fire qa team for sure and half of developers. They are waste of money for the company. I have no way to start this horrible app to check the firmware or adjust the settings on my new sk10y sound bar. Now it should go back to the store. Huge waste of time for me and money for LG.

Doesn’t even work

I’ve never had a more frustrating experience with an app. This is seriously making me question my decision to go with LG. Can’t even get a basic app to work properly. I am connected to the speakers Wi-Fi and it connects briefly and then disconnects and says no speaker on the network. I have to forget the network, reboot the speaker delete LGWiFiSpeaker and reinstall and it will connect to the speaker for about 30 seconds before it then says no speaker on the network and can’t reconnect. Only way to connect is to delete everything and start over and it stays connected for 30 seconds. Complete crap.

Speaker won’t turn off, please help

I have tried to reset and nothing. Unplug and turn back on, then it works fine (kinda like my cable modem does). Then after a day or so, same thing happens again. Can’t turn it off. Not with the remote, not by power button and not with “auto off” feature either. I have reset it using Wi-Fi/reset button and still nothing. I tried using app to reset speaker setting and LGWiFiSpeaker still doesn’t recognize that o have changed input. I select óptica and it stays on lg tv. LGWiFiSpeaker is connected and works volume very well but that’s about it. Please help

Lg come on

If I could give negative star I would ..... ios14 updates and app is worse than before. Have sly8g and sn11rg and the bars constantly drop off app. Still have old firmware compared to other regions. App freezes and is junk. Last update was 8 months ago and with all the reviews LGWiFiSpeaker only has 1.8 stars. Lg seems not to care or they would update this piece of garbage .. let’s just say Samsung app has 4.2 stars and after new high end bar flopped immediate firmware update put out that fixed a lot of issues and LG has done nothing. This is bad customer service ........

Great

I’m not sure why the low rating but I just bought the sound bar with sub and downloaded LGWiFiSpeaker and easily connected fast I thought it was going to be a pain because the low rating but works amazing and I can control it from my phone I’m very impressed thank you

No way to control sound bar

This use to work fun until a couple updates ago. Constantly says I need to connect to WiFi but nothing ever pops up for me to put in any password or anything. I’ve reset this several times and deleted half a dozen times. Have looked up FAQs to no avail. The fact that I can only change my soundbar with LGWiFiSpeaker is already bad but then not having LGWiFiSpeaker work is even worse. This is way too expensive of a soundbar to not have ANY control over it. Unbelievable.

Useless

Seriously LG?!?!? Does anyone even test these things and document the results? LGWiFiSpeaker is utterly and completely useless. No guidance on setup, no documentation, no support on LG’s website. Anything pertaining to the WiFi setup simply says ‘use LGWiFiSpeaker ’ but LGWiFiSpeaker does NOTHING. There is one small note saying ‘not all devices will work’ but no reference sheet on what actually is supported. Additionally, the manual for my SK9C soundbar, it refers to the ‘LG WiFi Speaker’ manual which doesn’t exist. If you’re going to advertise functionality DOCUMENT THE PROCESS. ESPECIALLY IF YOUR APP IS A PIECE OF JUNK.

Wi-Fi streaming not working

LGWiFiSpeaker is good for setting up the sound bar. However, I’ve been unable to stream music to it over Wi-Fi. Yes, I can do this over Bluetooth, but hifi audio only works properly over Wi-Fi.

Every time I try this on Wi-Fi, using LGWiFiSpeaker, LGWiFiSpeaker crashes.

Please help. It seems LGWiFiSpeaker hasn’t been updated in a while. It needs big fixing!

App stops working after a day

It initially connected to the LG speaker... then a few days later couldn’t find it on the Wi-Fi. My router however shows the speaker on the Wi-Fi ... all LGWiFiSpeaker can do is tell me to make sure my phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi even if it already is.

There really should be a way to get into LGWiFiSpeaker and then see/change what it is using to find the speaker on the local network.

Doesn’t Work

Followed directions and entered the password for my wireless network to connect LGWiFiSpeaker to the soundbar. It doesn’t work. Tried several times. So it looks like I either return the $900 soundbar (SK10Y) or forget controlling it with my phone, playing music, or using Chromecast. Might just try the new Sony soundbar instead. Judging from these reviews they should know it doesn’t work. Not cool that they advertise features that they really don’t have.

Updated now don’t work right

I just got sound bar and got everything hooked up everything worked fine then I did update on app and bar and now the HDMI (ARC) don’t work right it will turn the volume all the way down and every two me I try to move it up it won’t go up It stays at 0

Garbage App, Garbage Product

Because LG required google home to establish a Wi-Fi connection LGWiFiSpeaker will never function properly because it is 100% dependent on googles horrid home app ( don’t get me wrong, apples is no better)

Any change in the home app will result in a dis functional app requiring non stop resets

LG developers for sound bars are lazy , as any dev team that places 100% connectivity on any “ home app” are lazy developers
