Another great product that can’t do what’s its made to do by SENA
For the most recent update in October 2019: And in typical SENA fashion. The update is bad at best. It’s connects to the app when it wants to. Which is less then 50%. And even then it takes about five mins of staying on the screen to open. The Terms Off Use is requested EVERY time I open the app. Yes I checked the box for it not to ask again. And EVERY time it does connect it states a newer version of the app is available in the App Store. When powering on or at any other time There is no voice letting me know what it’s doing. But in the other unit I updated the voice is still present. The bluetooth multi tasking is not useable with an open face helmet. The lightest wind sets it off. Follow up to this review. I turned off the voice commands. My bad. I uninstalled the newest update. Then re installed it. Seems to work better after the second try.
App doesn’t work
I have the Sena 30k connected via Bluetooth with my phone but, all the time I open the app it tells me I have to connect the the device. I tried disconnecting the Bluetooth connection and reconnecting it, didn’t work I tried removing the app and downloading it again still nothing. Nothing seems to work this app need a major update. People are paying $200+ for this device and the app doesn’t even work. For something so expensive they should have their tech down before disappointing people.
First problem, despite repeated attempts the app will not see my Wi-Fi network when I try to connect the wireless docking station up to it. I’ve even deleted the app and tried it twice, no luck. Second problem, unless I’m doing something wrong, I can not use the Mesh network and Apple CarPlay at the same time, it’s one or the other. Other than that the app works fine for me.
Just purchased dual 30k’s. Went thru the process of “forgetting” device from my phone. Downloaded app, opened app, then repaired. App still does not see the 30k. This will be my last purchase of anything Sena. Actually considering returning it since even after installing the WHIM I can’t configure the device from the bike. Now I can’t configure thru an app. Only way to change setting is to connect to a computer. Not very user friendly especially if I’m on the roar and need to make a change to the settings.
Downloaded app version 1.3. If you open app and select User Guide or Quick Start Guide, you get a message there is a new version to download . When you attempt to download either one you get a failure message saying internet connection not good when in fact the signal is very strong. Two other colleagues got the same results at their home. Siena’s app work on the 30K continues to be subpar.
Most people are saying that they can’t connect their 30K to the app, I had trouble at first but decided to hook up the sena to my computer and it updated from I believe 1.03 to version 3.1.1. Once I updated it it connected flawlessly.
App not working with IOS13
With my Sena itself, it works great but starts to break up communication. Doesn’t matter if I’m two feet from my riding buddy or if I’m thirty feet away. Also when I try to use the sena app it doesn’t detect the sena which kills me because before I updated to iOS 13 it worked but now it doesn’t love the app until then. Please fix the problem I as well as others would love to use this app for the convenience of not needing to always connect to the computer to make changes.
It’s been ok for me but has been getting better
My Sena 30K has been working ok for me. But I just got the new iPhone 11 pro max. And the app no longer works. 30K is connected via Bluetooth but the app does not see the phone. I can play music and take phone calls and all. Didn’t have this issue on my iPhone 7. Please release a update for IOS 13.
App no longer connects to device
After newest firmware update I can no longer connect the app to to the device. I can play music from my phone to the device and that’s it. Going back to Cardo. UPDATE: After installing the newest Sena app update, which fixes the connectivity issues, the app still will not recognize the unit. I have deleted the app and reinstalled, I have reset my phone and made sure I’m running all current updates. Getting ridiculous.
A Good, Useable Application For A Great Product
Thank you Sena for making an easy, intuitive way to control a complex product. I love my 30K for allowing me to easily talk to my family & friends when we ride, and I love this utility app for making it so simple to configure my 30K.
Very good product VERY SAD APP
So I bought the wife and I a 2 pack. Installed on Shoei Neotec II and RF1200. Updated the firmware before use. Installed app. Everything works perfect. But..... The app is so slow. And if your screen goes to sleep or turns off in any way then it takes about 60 seconds before you can use the app again once you click on it again or unlock your screen. Very frustrating. As far as the actual MESH system.....AMAZING. Been about a mile apart and still crystal clear. Can both listen to the same music and push button on the side to talk then push again to restart music. Flawless.....but please fix the app. iPhone X
I’d give negative stars if I could.
They brag about the new ease to pair with the app. Then an iOS update breaks the app and it doesn’t even pair with the Sena and it’s been this way for weeks now. Sena is the king of releasing products halfway and then charging us another $500 to “upgrade” from their previous buggy junk. I came from the 10 to the 20 to the 30. I refuse to buy the 50 as it’s more bug fixes for lots of money with no decent new features.
H-D 30K Won’t work w/ app
App has not worked since the iOS 13 update. Headset works fine by itself, still links to phone, but app will not recognize at all. Worked fine with app before update. Really liked the functionality of the app. Sure would be nice to be able to utilize it again.
WILL NOT CONNECT
Going on a year now this stupid app will not work. The device will connect to other sena models and play music through my phone just fine... but the actual app WILL not OPEN to the pictures screens below to edit my groups and favorites. Nor can I get into my personal audio settings or anything. Also more than likely because of this I cannot connect my sena to other Bluetooth models
Don’t Buy Sena!
We purchased 2 30K headsets and after spending hours trying to pare 3 Helmets (one with Sena installed on Bilt Helmet) we’re unsuccessful with a reliable connection. Even after loading latest firmware, Phone disconnects from headset, or can’t recognize other device. Very frustrating and I’d return the garbage if I could. Also, talking to Sena reps at Cycle Shows gave the impression that they didn’t have all issues sorted out :-/
