No (free) widgets

Was interested in TheWeatherApp for the widgets it mentions.

WeatherGO is nowhere to be seen in the widgets options, neither in the new iOS 14 widgets (the + symbol on the top left of the screen) or the old version of widgets (the “customise” option at the bottom of the widgets.

Since the “pro” subscription model says “more” widgets available when subscribed, this would imply there is supposed to be at the very least ONE available widget for free. But nada.

this was on an iPhone Xr iOS 14

Latest release broke everything

Since TheWeatherApp was updated 2 days ago, the widget no longer works (white with grey splotches) and going into TheWeatherApp it only shows weather for New York, not the city I live in and can’t select any other city. I realize you are trying to upsell people, but TheWeatherApp which was mildly useful before is now completely worthless in free version.

Money waste

It was like flushing my money. That app doesn’t allow you to see multiples cities in case you are planning a trip and also there is no feels like temperature. Don’t buy

Why do you copy+paste from other apps?

This is clearly a violation of privacy. The moment I’ve realized, I’ve uninstalled it.

Also, every time I try to touch, it’s unkind to display Pro pop-up.

Don’t be a greedy developer that violates privacy!

I can’t check out app without paying. Still supported?

I would love an app that showed Celsius and Fahrenheit together. But I downloaded and immediately deleted this.

When you open TheWeatherApp for the first time, instructions on the home screen don’t work. When I did manage to pull up some weather info, it was generics, it had nothing to do with my location. I couldn’t check out the key features.

I don’t mind paying $7/yr for a useful app, but I can’t even tell if I’d like it before I buy it.

$6.99 a year?

Not enough features for a yearly subscription, I don’t know of any form of weather prediction that is worth that, as they all get it wrong almost everyday. & all you get is multiple cities & “future features” with the subscription, whatever that means. There are others that have C & F displayed, are free & have a better interface, without four pop ups as soon as you open it trying to get a subscription out of you. Waste of bandwidth.

Deleted within two minutes.

Not worth it.

TheWeatherApp is free to download but only works if you pay the subscription. I thought maybe some info (eg- weather for one city) would be available via the free download, but no. So annoying, and $6.99 is too much for weather.

Great concept way over priced

Great concept but way over priced for what you get. For 6.99 you receive all the basic weather information that you’re phone already has installed on the weather app. The idea of having C and F side by side is great for learning and a overall amazing idea but the price for basic features is insane. I hope there is an update to change this to a more reasonable price like a 1$ or just running ads through TheWeatherApp .

Widgets not showing

I bought TheWeatherApp for the widgets to show both Celsius and Fahrenheit. I can’t see the widgets for TheWeatherApp. Disappointed! Feel like I’ve wasted $7

Upsell prevents use of the basic app

I really appreciate what TheWeatherApp is trying to do and have been looking for something that shows me Celsius and Fahrenheit side by side so I can finally learn. I got this basic app, however, the ad for the upsell to PRO blocks my ability to enter the city I am looking for. I am not ready to upgrade until I see how the basic works. Disappointing. I will keep looking for another app until this problem is fixed.

Subscription based not for me.

Suns out guns out, really? TheWeatherApp is exactly what I was looking for, but I’m tired of subscription based apps. This is t worth 6.99 a year. 1.99 a year, maybe, but what about a one time payment and we are done.

Overall nice minimal weather app

Nice weather app with a clean UI and widget support for iOS 14. Supports multiple locations and has hourly weather which is nice. However, I think there might be a small bug. After closing TheWeatherApp (swipe up) I am presented with the welcome screen each time I relaunch. Also, I need to use “Restore Purchase” to get the double tap function working. Not really sure why.

Mostly great, but daily High/Low incorrect

Chris I hope you read this! Overall TheWeatherApp is great. I’m an American, currently trapped in America. But I am preparing myself to live in Germany, so TheWeatherApp is perfect for teaching myself Celsius. The design is clean, sleek, and easy to read. I love the descriptors, “eh, some clouds” they give it some personality. Alphabetizing all the different cities I’ve chosen is great (I don’t know why the iPhone weather app doesn’t). The converter is a really nice feature, I’ve used it multiple times. I don’t know why anyone is complaining about the price; 6.99/yr is nothing, and there are plenty of reviews available to decide beforehand if it’s worth it. No one needs your buyer’s regret guys, go tell it to your cat. Two things that could be improved: TheWeatherApp is quite slow switching to the 5-day forecast, and back to the home page. I have to double tap 3-5 times before it registers. More importantly, while the temperatures in the 5-day are correct, the high/low on the home page for my current location is consistently incorrect, by a large margin. For example, today the high will be 82 F, yet TheWeatherApp says it will be 61 F, and the actual low is 5 F higher than TheWeatherApp says. I’ve tried restarting my phone, and triple checking the location (it’s correct); nothing has corrected the issue. It’s a minor thing, my solution has been to just keep the iPhone weather app next to it and use that for high/low, but I would love to not have to do that. TL;DR great app for learning F/C, converting, monitoring weather in multiple cities, worth the price, but high/low big needs fixing.

Love the app but wish I could change the description of weather easier

I love TheWeatherApp but wish I could see a weekly forecast and change the descriptions easier

One simple suggestion

It’s a really clean interface and I like the style; buuuut- is there no way to turn it to Fahrenheit only!? I don’t see any setting where you can choose preference. Add that feature and it’ll be much even better.

No choice of location

TheWeatherApp only gives temperature at your current location - wish that had been clear from description

Good

Simple, to the point. As a Canadian living in America, it’s nice to see both measurements alongside each other.

C and F together widget!

The non subscription option of TheWeatherApp is perfect for what it is! I have the widget of the current location and on the plus side training myself Celsius and Fahrenheit side by side. A way more effective way to remember than having to convert each time. Thank you for putting TheWeatherApp for us 😀😃😄

Updated to 5 stars!

UPDATE: The developer immediately reached out to me and offered a refund. However, I preferred to troubleshoot and get TheWeatherApp working. Happy to say I now have the Pro features I paid for! So updating to 5 stars. Yay for responsive devs!

Love the simplicity of TheWeatherApp so much that I subscribed to Pro. However, TheWeatherApp doesn’t seem to believe this and keeps prompting me to subscribe to access additional features. I even went into my Apple subscriptions to make sure the purchase went through (it did) then tried to restore purchase in TheWeatherApp (which did nothing). Very disappointed I paid $6.99 for nothing =(

Convenient weather app

It’s nice to have an app with both Celsius and Fahrenheit available to view at the same time. I’ve grown up with Fahrenheit but the Celsius calculation makes more sense when it comes to freezing weather and knowing how cold it will be for protecting outdoor plants. A subscription is required, but a dollar or less a month for convenience seems like a deal.
