Full disclosure: The developer gave me a promo code for the lifetime plan.
Tl;Dr: This is a prettying good rain sound app.
DeepSleepSounds has some really cool features to it.
-You can change the volume within each set of sounds. Say you want to listen to rain in the forest. You can turn the rain up and the animal sounds down or vise versa. That to me is very cool because sometimes it’s nice to have just a bit of other noise with the rain
- It has a timer that’s separate from the timer on your device
- I haven’t personally used it, but there is an option to have the sounds playing over other apps. I imagine you could use this to have rain playing while you listen to music maybe.
- There's actually a pretty wide selection of different sound sets from rain in a jungle to sitting in Cafe with people to hearing the sound of an open fridge. Whether you like rain or white noise, you'll find something to listen to.
Now, this isn't to say that DeepSleepSounds is perfect. There is one flaw, that for me at least, is kind of a big one. The thunder sounds like it's recorded at a lower quality. I have tried other rain sound apps and have enjoyed the thunder with those. Though I typically don't care for the rain sounds. With DeepSleepSounds I was really hoping for nice rumbling thunder, when unfortunately you tend to get some blown out crashing sound. With that said, I still think this is a solid sounds app. I'm currently listening to the Cabin in the Woods set with the rain up and wildlife down just a bit and think it's fantastic.
If you're looking for a sound app, this one is definitely worth the download.
