I have played spades a lot. This game is not random, and is designed to get you to spend money for coins. I will win a few and get some coins saved up, and then loose several games in a row, till my coin balance is to low to play.
Update since my first review, I have had nothing but problems with this game. The only thing that works like it should are the annoying pop up ads to get you to spend money on coins. The game is designed to keep you coin balance low, where you either have to buy coins, or wait till you get the free ones to play again. I really like the game, but will probably be removing from my device and find a different one. I have sent many request to the developers, but nothing seems to help.
2nd update after the last update, the game has crashed several times, causing me to loose all of my coins. Have sent emails to developer, but they seem unwilling to address the problem. If you want to play a game that you can not depend on working then this is the one for you. Loaded with several problems, and seems there are I intentions from the developers to fix.

There many things wrong with SpadesRoyale in fact SpadesRoyale shouldn’t even be called spades anymore it should be called bid nil & throw away your books.
I literally played 10 games in a row were 8/10 were a first hand nil & the other two games second hand nil. It’s ridiculous how many times you or the other team gets nil literally every shuffle if not every other shuffle. Why does SpadesRoyale do that? Simple makes you play the games faster so you’ll have to buy more coins.
The low point system ruined the game nobody bids their hand anymore they simply throw away books to get you to bust. SpadesRoyale is not competitive as every hand is literally predictable. If you like throwing away books & getting nil every game SpadesRoyale is for you if you like real spades were it’s balanced there are other apps out there.
Note to the developers it’s very sad when due to the lower point system you cannot win if the other team bids nil even if you book the other team they simply win because of nil. Yes I’m saying that correctly you book the other team while they go nil you still lose. & there’s nothing you can do about it. Enjoy losing to less skillful players on SpadesRoyale. Enjoy throwing away your hand & going nil!

I’ve been on this site about a year, I love playing spades. Overall it’s a good spade site, but Beware. They partner you with anyone, so if your a great player, you will probably be partnered with a rookie, with no idea how to play. You never know if your playing with real people or bots. Now for the rip-off part. It’s happened to me twice. First time site said I needed to log into Facebook, so did...again. When I did I lost all my coins (points) lost my rating, lost my achievements. Sent a email to site, they informed me they could restore my coins, but could Not restore my rating or achievements.
So I had to work at getting back my rating & achievements, I did.
Now a month ago, same thing happen, except this time they didn’t steal my rating, but took my achievements & my coins (points), I had roughly 1 million 800 thousand. Now some of those I payed cash for, some I won. So sent I sent emails, first they said they couldn’t understand my problem. So I explained it again. Then they said they couldn’t find me in the system, after 4th email they found me, But said I didn’t have that many coins (points). I asked to restore what they thought I had then. Haven’t heard from them at all since. So I’m still playing, I started over with the 500 or so points they left me with. I’ve built it up to about 80,000 points so far. But I will give this Crooked Site another Dime. After having been Ripped off twice.

This game is very fun starting out! It’s very easy to get addicted until you get to higher levels and you realize that you’re playing against bots instead of random live players! This was exposed b/c they play the same EVERY single time! There’s no variety in strategy or anything that you would see with random players. If you start off with one suit and your partner wins with the Ace, then your partner will come back with a low card in the same suit even when they have the King. It makes no sense! Nobody I know has ever played like that, and it’s the same thing over and over again! The deal isn’t random. The player to your right more often than not has the king if you have the ace. Also, these coins are too expensive to lose so quickly! I’ve spent probably $50 on this game in less than a month. Your win ratio never goes above 52% no matter how good you are! The games are rigged! Shame! They should take lessons from POGO! That was real live spades where you could join different tables, chat with players, choose table rules, etc. These bots have to same reactions to every action smh. I will not waste another dime on this game!

I’ve had SpadesRoyale for a LONG time as a guest; I’m not on FB. I’ve NEVER bought coins; I’m good enough I don’t have to. And that’s no ****! I have acquired 729,000 coins despite not buying any. If you play spades with completely random partners, you know less than half of your partners know the game. So that coin total should tell you something.

For ages, SpadesRoyale ran relatively trouble free. Then, last year, SpadesRoyale started kicking me off BETWEEN games, especially if I was on a streak of wins; no problem, I would just go back in. Some time ago, it started kicking me out when I BEGAN a game; no problem, I would just go back in. NOW, it has started pasting a HUGE gold spade symbol over my cards. This results in my inability to bid, thus the game bids (wrongly) for me. Can’t see the cards well enough to play either because of the HUGE, GOLDEN SPADE they’ve plastered over most of them - not to mention, I now can’t see my partner’s bid, unless s/he bids nil. Naturally, this all results in a loss. Is SpadesRoyale that bad on a brand-new iPhone 12, or is this deliberate, because I don’t buy coins? Either way, it results in SpadesRoyale being worthless for me. Thanks

Against my better judgement I downloaded this game because it seemed fun when I would watch my husband play.. here I am a few weeks into playing and THINKING WOWZERS! I FINALLY found a AWESOME card game... but silly me for getting to the point of TRUSTING an app developer.. 1st time I decided to use my prepaid card to buy coins it charged me THREE times for ONE purchase.. being that it was my prepaid card I summed it up as a possible glitch on my part.. well yesterday I said I’ll give it another try because the ads were so enticing and I was like hey it’s only 5 bucks why not?! Well NOT ONLY DID I NOT GET MY COINS I CAN NO LONGER EVEN ACCESS SpadesRoyale ! I have done everything on my end accept smash my ipad! This is ridiculous and yeah it’s only about 25 bucks including the first 3 OVER SIGHTS and the one from yesterday but I’m writing this review to SERIOUSLY WARN YOU... RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS GAME AND ANY OTHER APP THIS DEVELOPER HAS! If it happened to me I wonder how many other innocent people it’s happened to?! Apple needs to BAN SpadesRoyale SERIOUSLY and I DEFINITELY will be contacting them to see what can actually be done! I don’t even care about the money at this point. It’s the possibility of fraud that could be happening that bothers me!

One of the worst algorithmic pay to play games out there. Regardless of skill you will always lose coin. You either play 1-2 games per day in the lower end tables on the free coins they give out or you pay them to continue playing. I do NOT recommend for the casual player

I'm almost lvl 50 and get 450 coin every 4 hours that's not even 3k per day (assuming I check back periodically every 4 hours on the dot). I do the text message alerts and have linked multiple friends from Facebook and I still barley clear 2k per day in "free coins" the minimum to bet is 250 so I apologize previous post stated 1-2 games per day but it's actually 4-6. And there are ROBOTS think about it, if you quit a game does the game end? If you time out it automatically plays a card. So yes "every person is real" doesn't mean a real/actual person is playing.

Most of the time you’re playing against the computer which totally knows your hand. Solo player, do not ever go nil unless you have all low numbers of all suits because soon as you throw out a 5 of a suit, surprisingly, 9 out of 10 times, the other 3 players have the 2, 4, and the 3...what are the chances, I get that this may happen sometimes, but this happens just about every time I go nil. And when I bid 6 books or more, I get the antagonizing “good luck” remarks, but when one of the bots (not a real player) bids 6 or more, the other bots say nothing, this further convinces me that these are not people that you’re playing, you can clearly tell that these are programmed responses. And as for the tab with the comments like “thanks”, “lol” and so on, it is merely impossible to try to click it and respond to a play because the round goes too fast, so only the programmed bots are able to throw comments out since they are programmed to automatically respond to certain plays. And the game cheats, bot players will run out of a suit in the beginning of the game so it can now throw out spades but surprisingly that same bot in the end will come back with a card from that suit that it supposedly ran out of in the beginning, this has happened to me several times.

I started playing this game a few years ago and stopped. Today I remembered why I stopped. Although its one of the better spade apps available, this game cheats all the time and will rip you off. You never can earn a-lot of coins and they know this. So you end up buying coins which is okay if they don’t disappear. Today I was playing the game and I was pass level 100 with more than 5 millions coins ( mostly purchased), 92% of albums complete and in the middle of a contest with the potential to earn another 1.8 million coins and the game shut down. When I reopened the game ALL MY COINS ARE GONE, I MEAN ALL BUT 2,000 coins, and I am on level 1 like I just started playing. This is such a ripoff. If my coins are not returned or a refund is not give for the coins I purchased, I will let the Bank know that fraudulent charges were made by this company. If I want loose money I could go the casino or just give it away.

By the way WTH happened to Dewayne Wade. That’s the problem, the game has not been right since he left!!!! And if he has not left is he aware of this MONSTROSITY!!!!!

If you’re a Spades Player then this is not SpadesRoyale for you. It’s hard to even begin to explain, because the things that happens isn’t just about experience or being knowledgeable it feels as if it’s done on purpose. Let’s say if I’m winning a couple of games then I start a new game and we’re ahead and then my partner start bidding 1 when they have actually 3 or 4. And some partners will bid only 1 throughout the entire game and then laugh with the other players about it. I feel as if it’s a 3 on 1 situation. You can play solo or partners and still get the same experience. I’ve so many horrible stories about this because I love playing spades and all the spades apps are like this one. Idk if it’s the developers having fun with there friends or if someone hacked the game and are able to do things while we play. I thought about every scenario. I don’t want to think there are ppl out here who just get together to make ppl lose....(that’s weird...right?) or someone who is able to play 3 different hands in a single game but there is only one actual player whose controlling everything. Like I said, it’s weird, but if enough ppl keep reporting this someone will be able to make a better Spades App.

All you are playing against is the computer...which is cool at times...but this game is totally designed to take your hard earned real cash...no matter how much you play you’ll never work your way up with coins to get into the big tables....you have to drop of real money...and once you do...you immediately go on a super losing streak or your partner which is a bit as well does some dumb Sugar Honey Ice Tea...word to the wise...do not under any circumstances spend real dollars on this game...it is a total waste of funds...they absolutely know your hand in and out...and I don’t even want to talk about the nil bids that they somehow get which usually ends the game in just one hand on the higher tables...they outlook of the game is cool but they are cheating you...and it’s the same responses from the other bots every time..go 6 and you get the good luck..ask what are you doing and your partner cries...no other emotions that would usual come from a human player....sometimes if I have a guaranteed L I will just go 13 and the person behind automatically bids will bid a nil and my partner bids a blind nil...so it just shows how it’s programmed...then I won’t even play the hand just walk away and let the timer go down on every card played...nobody on the table says a word or emote..they just sit there...and don’t move...the cool part about screen record is I can send in the evidence of what the games do and the algorithm

First off, they manipulate the deal. Sometimes it’s to keep the game fun, such as when playing suicide, usually 2 people have a hand that can go nil. That keeps it fun, sure. However, SpadesRoyale will ensure you only win 50% or less of your games.
Second: 99% of the time you are playing against bots. So don’t expect strategy.
Third, they only pay out 1.7:1 for wins. So you pay/wager 1000 points for a game and you win, you get 1700 points, so +700 points. But because they manipulate the deal, and 99% of the times you play against and with bots, the next game is dealt so you lose, or your bot partner throws the game, and so after 2 games played for 1000 points, you are down -300. They do it so you buy more points, which get progressively more expensive. Oh, and if you have a tie game then you only get back 70% of your bet. So bet 1000, get 700 back. The house always gets their cut.

That said: This is by far the best looking game out there, and they have lots of side adventures to keep things interesting but unless your buying points you’ll never get enough action to complete any of the quests. It just burns me up that they don’t play fair, they stack the deck, they keep your wins below 50% and they pay less than 2:1 for wins.

I just lost nearly 400,000 in coins for the 3rd time!! The first was years ago, I even tried contacting them via “customer support” to absolutely no avail. It was equally as frustrating then as it was today. After attempting about 100 times to eventually win in both solo arena’s finally reaching sapphire (which is extremely difficult) the game began to suddenly shutdown. Continuously, and would go on for 2 days until I was forced to delete & re-download, basically starting all over again. So here we are years later and 2 days after what I thought “was just a glitch” has done it again. After 2 years, I figured it would have been fixed but obviously not. Do not waste your hard earned money. Customer support doesn’t seem to care or even exist as far as I’m concerned. I tried contacting them several times as I said earlier and I never received a response. Not even one of those generic automated responses. After re-downloading it performs perfectly normal, no longer shutting itself down. Why not? If this is their company practice, its not worth spending our hard earned money on. I still cannot believe this just happened (3rd time ) to me. It doesn’t have to happen to you too. This is your fair warning, good luck

Would totally be willing to give it a 5 star rating but there’s some issues with the game. Almost every time after collecting the 500 coins it says for and extra 200 watch the video. Ok no problem with that. Except you try watching it and it comes back with a “video unavailable try again later”. Like how do try again later if it tell you the same thing every time you try. And one more thing the game gives you a option for a 100 coins if you watch a video. Ok cool. I understand that you can only watch a few videos and collect the coins. But the game will have the option to keep watching for extra coins and after you watch it tells you it’s no longer available. So I guess what my problem is would be if your going to have people watching the videos for extra coins. The extra coins should be available to collect. Instead of waiting until someone has wasted the time to watch an add for nothing. Other than that I really like the game. Thanks

I’ve been playing spades for over 20 years online, and I’m as experienced as you get and this site, I don’t know how many players actually play at this site and how many are bots. Play here is so methodical, that either your playing with bots or people that are taught to play a certain way. Here’s a couple of things that happen, that make my point obvious. First off, in the first couple of thousand games that I’ve played, I’ve never seen anyone but myself, not Trump the queen of a suit. You can lead the ace of a suit and the king, and then the queen gets trumped by your partner even though it’s winner unless trumped. Also almost every lead is a short suit lead, so if the person that lead leads diamonds, then 99% of the time they are cutting that suit, after one ore two leads in that suit. It’s not very uncommon for a short suit lead, especially among new players, but not almost every hand. Another thing that is robotical is when a player leads off with a king, 95% of the time they have 2 of that suit, so you know to throw off if your cutting that suit, if they’re playing behind you. If your a skilled spades player it won’t take you long to figure this off. I believe most of the players at your table are bots, unless they have people playing like bots on purpose.

I do enjoy playing this game. It is better than the other spades games out there for presentation BUT there is a level of deception going on behind the scenes. I’ve played spades for years and know the strategies quite well. However, things sometime play out strangely as if certain players know your cards. Certain players tend to get to join up (as part of the random selection process?) and wrong cards are sometimes played. Some players haven’t found this to be true but many have. At first I thought it to be a glitch but I think it’s geared to have you lose to buy more coins. It’s not fair across the board, there’s manipulation occurring at some level. It will work against a solid 6 trick hand and you will surprisingly find yourself getting 1 or 2. Not normal. So I play with suspicion. Also, the daily spin, which is “random” never pays out over 500 coins. In theory, there is an equal chance of hitting the 10,000 coins yet it never happens... ever. The play is not completely above board and trustworthy. But it’s fun.

I love playing spades, esp in real life and I’m pretty darn good at it too. However, the ONLY PROBLEM I have with this game is that out of 10 hands, I would only get 1-2 GOOD hands, meaning I would get 4 or 5 books during those 1-2 hands. Your ratings that are given during the winnings is ONLY BASED on good hands. What if you have a bad partner?? You lose Bc of your partner and your ratings go down EVEN THOUGH YOUVE met YOUR OWN books. That’s not right. Developers should change to that even playing “partner mode” that regardless if you lose, if you make your own books, YOUR RATINGS SHOULD STILL BE HIGH! My ratings got dropped bc I had idiot partners and when I played solo.... I could SELDOM win bc I never had ANY good hands!! I would always get 1-2 books per hand for every 10 hand so I would NEVER WIN ANY during solo play!! That’s not right! I do like how we can play with other ppl .. REAL ppl.... however, the solo has GOT TO CHANGE TOO. I can’t be getting 2 books, 2 books and then my ratings go low bc I was dealt a bad hand. NOT MY FAULT I CANT MAKE 4-5 books. CHANGE THAT.

At first I loved playing! I like that you can stay with a partner for another match so when you had a solid partner the game was even better. I always had decent amount of money and could bet varying amounts. ALL FREE so the pop ups when opening the game were tolerable and relevant. But in the past few weeks since Super Bowl there has been heavy push to watch more commercials which you HAVE TO WATCH IF YOU RUN OUT OF TOKENS TO BET and still want to play for free, which seems to be the case every time I play anymore. But it has made me not want to even play the the game anymore and I’ve seriously considered deleting app altogether. All of a sudden I have worst hands over and over again which at this point is statistical impossibility. It’s as if they have stacked odds so much against a player it has taken enjoyment out of game. I tried to tough it out watch the commercials but after my win percentage fell probably 50% I stopped playing. I wish the developers would create a positive association with the ads with little reinforcement instead of waiting till ones in complete deprivation state. I would have given it 2.5 stars today but the beginning was so fun I couldn’t rate it so low. Hopefully they fix this issue.

I have been emailing with a customer support agent for the last week, trying to resolve a problem I was experiencing. I sent my first email and less than 24 hours later Daniel, from customer service, had responded back to me. I was quite surprised that I even got a response, much less to get one so quickly.

Since then I have had several emails back and forth with Daniel and each time the response was prompt and polite. Today we had one last email that did resolve my issue. Wow, not only did I get prompt prompt responses but to have it seen through until it was sorted out was quite impressive. I do not often write reviews but I felt the support offered by SpadesRoyale and the professionalism and follow through by Daniel deserved a positive review. Thank you Daniel!

I love this game. By far the best spades app ! But ppl when someone goes nil u don’t break spades with your lowest spade. Get rid of the highest ones FIRST. And if someone goes nil and they are out of a suit. THROW OFF ! DONT SPADE IT WITH A HIGH SPADE WHERE THEY CAN COME BEHIND U AND THROW THEIR SPADE AWAY !! Throw off and let your partner get it. And even if they don’t get it. The others are going to win if someone is going nil and makes it anyway !! Also , if your losing and you have a chance to go another round by them losing points to bags. Then sometimes it will BENEFIT YOU TO NOT MAKE YOUR TRICKS AND LET THEM BAG !! Depending on the number of tricks between you and your partner. If this is the case. Get rid of all your HIGH CARDS !! I swear out of all the ppl that play I’ve found a handful of players that actually KNOW HOW TO STRATEGIZE AND PLAY THE WAY YOUR SUPPOSED TO PLAY !! Think ppl !! And if u don’t know how to play. LEARN !!! Also what’s this with your partner trumping your queen with a deuce. Obviously if your trumping your partners queen with a deuce then that queen would have walked. Again THINK PPL !!

At first you get good cards...winning can be to easy.... then the shuffle decktates the win unless your good .. and then you can lose or win according to how the cards are comes out.. nils can be hard to defend and the players love to nil you into a loss for there win ...

The games is balanced so experienced spades player will be balance out from winning to much... so maybe sometimes you’ll loss Because of the balance ... most players stats you’ll see the win is around 45 % and no more then 55% SO other then being the game for all players to play ( expertises or novice)... because of shuffle algorithms... The game is top notch for speed, graphics ideas for different game plays and so on... The real time feelings are tamped down,, so you don’t get anyone ventilating there feelings at you ... good fun I think...

I like playing card games, but this game is just pitiful. I thought all the time that they were just after me and then I realized everyone else has the same griped I do. Come on guys straighten up.

Oh loved this game,but now I believe it is now a major rip off played out 4 million coins didn't win 1 game,I couldn't deal cards this bad.ive spent way more than I should have ,it is my opinion there cons.dont do it.

Love the game at first but the game cheats, I was just playing one of the players on the other team throw out a 10 of diamond I through out a jack of diamond and the other team got the book. Also, sometimes when i bo NIL my partner will keep throwing out lower cards. I don't purchase no more because of this game being rigged and I'm glad that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. One day I counted the cards as they were being played and there were 8 hearts, 12 diamonds, five spades, and 15 clubs played.

Cheater robots if you email them the same responses. People play different all over the world. I say start a class action lawsuit because they are laughing at us

All this game does is cheat robots your partner cheats for the other team I played like 50 games one day lost all but maybe 4 or 5 your partner bid 5 make 1 on perpose so you lose worse and they take more coins real people would not perposely just lose on perpose and I use to see faces on some on the fish bowl heads I use my Facebook picture i have not seen any one else pictures this year, you are getting cheated

This site has cost me almost 12000 dollars in the past 6 months. Didn’t know my disabled wife was playing this site so much. I can’t understand how you can spend 269.99 for coins to play. Does it ever pay anything back? I have since stopped her from using this site or spending our fixed income that will take years to pay down. Please be careful and listen to the responses you read here. It could save you from a financial hardship and disappointment.

I've been trying for 2 hrs to get free coins. I do everything and a problem screen pops up to say I'm sorry but you are not Getting the coins we say you would earn by doing this. Y'all should have a better system for partners, or a better way of stopping people losing way more than they can win in a single match. Let someone get like 1000 coins after they don't get coins for doing something you suggested to get coins. Be honest with the people that play your game. Would love nothing more than to play a game on this app but y'all app puts me with new players every time. Seems like you grandfathered in to running scams. I just want to stop getting bad partners and half good cards. It's enjoyable that way. Just, fyi. Also maybe let people only lose as much as the win or vice versa. Or just a better way to keep people playing that actually want to play. Instead of playing spades I'm sending this because your game makes me lose more than I win because off dumb stuff

When I try to load spades royale it keeps loading me as GUEST. I have had am account with an avatar for years with over 500,000 coins. Why did it kick me off and take all my coins

Stop the cheating please it was fun stop your robot partner cheats for the other team had 2 million coin started losing like never before all gone no one want to play 2500 on a game then your purpose partner bid 6 but only get 1 you lose 10.000 coin who wants to lose double triple coin because of no fault of your own stop cheat every real person knows it
