Horse Riding Tracker Reviews

I have been using HorseRidingTracker a few weeks now. It has been reliable and easy to use. I really like that it syncs with my Health app/data and I like the Apple Watch app as well. The map is SUPER detailed and awesome for zooming in and out. It was cool to look at some alternate routes this way too, by zooming in to see other trails/roads. I enjoyed it enough to subscribe. I will continue using it and recommended it to some friends. Two things I wish could be added to the next update that would make it better are:
1. A tutorial of some kind to walk me through the features would have been great.
2. I wish the share feature would include the map in the pro version.

The best app available currently. Annoying that features are presented initially and then turn into ‘pro account features’ only...not sure it’s worth paying for yet and I don’t like the auto-renewal as the only option. The map for the most part is accurate. It gets wonky in some areas where I assume the signal gets lost or bounces around. You’ll want to adjust the speeds for each gait depending on your horse—there’s no way to tell other than riding a few times and playing around with it. Like that it shows at least distance, speeds, map (although in arena it’s just one big blob), time of ride. Anything more intuitive really requires one of the girth monitor systems. Not bad for being free and working with your watch and phone. I recommend it to other riders for basic info tracking.

This is the greatest app ever. Even the free version of it is amazing, I don’t pay for subscriptions to apps but this might just have to be an exception. I am so curious to see what the pro membership offers as the free version is outstanding! I am so grateful to have stumbled across HorseRidingTracker. I now have a new reason to remember to charge my Apple Watch!

HorseRidingTracker is really strong. It integrates well with the Apple Watch, Siri, and HealthKit. I haven’t found a better tool for specifically horseback riding on the market.

I do have some issues with it, however:

1. There’s no way to register it with Apple Health or give it permission for location tracking ahead of time. I recommend you start your first “workout” at home so as not to have to manage a horse, watch, and phone all at the same time.

2. The gps tracking and speed analysis is at points dubious. It worked really, really well when I hacked around the property, it worked far less well when I did all of my work in an arena (concluding I spent most of my time sitting still rather than riding circles at trot and canter).

3. The animated map is cute, but it’d have been nice to be able to rotate it by hand and not automatically go to the ride summary.

Overall though this is an excellent app with a lot of nice features.

I downloaded HorseRidingTracker for the 1 week trial that is offered with automatic 1 year subscription. However after using HorseRidingTracker I was disappointed with it (there was no way to edit sessions when I forgot to end them, it often miss labeled my horses gaits etc. ) and I didn’t want it. In HorseRidingTracker I couldn’t find anyway to cancel my subscription and I was still charged for the year subscription that I didn’t want. I tried contacting the owner via email provided on iTunes and got no response. This is a scam to get people signed up and paying for subscriptions they don’t want. I DO NOT recommend you try this. There are far better free apps available that don’t trick you out of your money with automatic subscriptions you can’t cancel.

I do love HorseRidingTracker and find it is quite in target with many stars. However, it doesn’t seem to record speed when running correctly. It seems to record slower speeds for anything beyond a trot. A friend used a different app to record our ride and I used this one the other day. Her app showed a faster speed for a canter we did than this one did. I have felt that HorseRidingTracker is has been off by at least 4/5 mph in the canter. Other than that, HorseRidingTracker is really great!

I think that HorseRidingTracker ’s look could probably be updated and a little nicer, but it is quite functional and that is all that really matters! If you are an equestrian, especially one with an Apple Watch, get HorseRidingTracker!

So far so good. It keeps going. You can take photos while it is running. It color codes speed and provides a clear map of where you are going in real time. Best app I’ve used yet

I absolutely love this!! It helps me so much and I’ve recommended it to others as well. One thing is I wish you could delete a session. For example if I let HorseRidingTracker run when I wasn’t actually riding, you should be able to just delete it. Maybe you can... but I can’t figure out how. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Great app that is easy to use and has many cool features. It works great with my Apple Watch. Great customer service and developer feedback.

My use of HorseRidingTracker is so frustrating. It will stop unexpectedly, commonly fills in an area rather than showing The actual trails.
This error makes it difficult to actually see what area of the ranch I rode.

I love HorseRidingTracker but some of the clunky menus keep me from giving it 5 stars. HorseRidingTracker does give me what I want which is time, maps, speeds, gaits, and distance. Really a great app but I haven’t seen any updates in a while.

Very easy to use and a nice convenient way for tracking my rides!hope will be more fun with HorseRidingTracker!

I live to track my trail riding. Not only does it show my path, but it tells how fast and how far you have gone.

2) I have the series 4 Apple Watch does HorseRidingTracker work with the series 3??? Want to recommend to a barn friend but she has a series three.

Of course it was very nice and useful was to add some modification such as zoom speed counter you see the most clear in the counter and the speed of response speedometer such as a clock and thank you very very excellent program

HorseRidingTracker is amazing, no exaggeration, just a fact. Tracks the distance, speed and gate. The map is super accurate. Can’t recommend HorseRidingTracker any more.

Now in Apple Watch app always crashes

I’ve tried HorseRidingTracker several times for trail riding and it will start counting down seconds, get to about 10 and then completely stop.
So frustrating!!
I’ve deleted it. Trying another one.
So sad they can’t get these horse ones right. I’d rather do this than map my ride or tracks.

Keeps good track of everything!!

I have never been so happy with an app ever. The developer is so amazing and welcomes improvements which I have a hard time improving perfect.
I ride 3 times a week with my father who has PD. To be able to track our riding history not only is good for his confidence. It’s a very valuable tool for me to share with neurologists as well as his Physical Therapist.
Never has an Apple app been so helpful in helping me help someone who is so impacted by Parkinson’s. I can say without hesitation. HorseRidingTracker has changed our lives. Thank you so much. Words could never properly convey my gratitude to HorseRidingTracker and to the developer who has rapidly replied to my emails. ( no complaints. Only praises. ). THIS IS APP GOLD. EVERY FRIEND I HAVE RECOMMENDED APP TO HAS THANKED ME FOR LETTING THEM KNOW ABOUT IT
