TestM - Check phone & Report Reviews

TestM is great for testing your phones functionality. All the tests works great except for a glitch I found on the 3D Touch test. I’m unable to get a response pressing down on the areas it asks when the setting is set for firm on my iPhone X. The test tells me it failed. Works fine on light and medium settings. Possibly a glitch as I don’t have any issues on firm for 3D Touch on any apps I’ve used.

Add a battery test too and I think the entire phone is covered.

TestM came highly recommended by Kim Komando and most of the users of it, so I installed it. When I opened it, I agreed to allow the thing to access my location when TestM was running and to send me push notifications, then I watched a screen that had TestM name and a little processing wheel go round and round and round and round and round... and round some more, but nothing else happened. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same thing. I tried clearing memory, same thing. I tried clearing memory and turning off the phone for several minutes before trying again. Same thing. Finally I decided to quit wasting my time, uninstalled it, and wrote this review. I have a relatively new iPhone 8 and am using only 26 GB of the 64 GB of storage, and TestM Store told me that this app would run on my phone, but it hasn't. I welcome any suggestions from the developer.

What good are your updates from weeks ago if they don’t fix the fact TestM won’t even load and hasn’t for months! Check your last 75 reviews chronologically. Whoever told you they updated it was either incompetent, a liar, or worked on the wrong app! Same with your companion AI app. Hasn’t worked for months. No loading won’t open just sits there looking like it wants to load.

Get your act together! No excuse for this in developers or whoever is in charge of the updates is just giving lip service because absolutely no change in the last two updates.

ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS IS AN OVERLY HEAVY APP AT ALMOST 1 Gig! Phone space is far too precious to have a brick taking up almost a whole gigabyte!

Not sure how reliable this test is as it reports problem with Bluetooth and microphone that work perfectly and buttons that have no problem. It also reports a problem with back camera and light sensor that I can't detect anything wrong with. However what I really wanted to check was a suspected problem with screen sensitivity it passed. That’s all I wanted to check and not looking to sell but when I try to send report I can't because ads pop up every time. Pretty much a waste of time because how do I know all the tests that passed are accurate since it misdiagnosed some.

Agree with other review, TestM is a keeper. Just bought a used iPhone and checked all functionality with TestM. The only thing that didn’t pass were the earphones, but I think that is because these are the new connections on the headphones that now have lightning connection instead of the older plug into headphones port type. So that function could use an update from developers but otherwise TestM is top knotch! Recommend to all!

Love TestM! I’ve never found an app that does everything TestM does. It works perfectly and does everything exactly like it says it does. Great app to have and to use if you are selling or buying a phone or even just to check your own phones functions and hardware. A must have app to have. The only thing I’d like to have other than what it has already is a Battery Check and iCloud Unlock.

All tests work well except the microphone test. TestM failed to verify operational microphones on all 3 of my devices. However this is a great tool that enables you to quickly check all of the functions of a new phone. Even though TestM failed - I only needed to verify the microphone manually rather than all components.

I just downloaded TestM to try getting a diagnostic report on my phone since I want to sell it second hand. I waited about 10 min and TestM never got past the loading page. If the phone times out and I wake it back up the loading page is completely frozen, but not allowing the phone to time out doesn’t produce any better results. Tried reinstalling, restarting the phone, just doesn’t seem to work anymore… too bad.

Good app as far as usefulness and usability.

Some tests are hard to accomplish. For instance, the Touch Screen test, the allowed 30 seconds is too short. Tried to complete it 5 times and failed every time due to 30 second time limit.

Cellular tests shouldn’t be mandatory, since when buying a phone it is not necessary that there is a sim available. (It can be easily tested by making a call, after sim is inserted)

I’ve been trying to do the Ultra Wide Camera test on my iPhone 11 pro and it gets stuck and won’t go any further. Everything else has passed. I done it twice and still the same out come. All the instructions on that page is ran together and can’t read it.

I love using TestM but recently, whenever I download TestM on any iPhone 11, TestM is stuck on the loading screen. I tested this on 4 iPhone 11 and the result didn't change. Please fix this issue.

I downloaded TestM just to be sure the phone is good. All tests passed but the buttons failed. The buttons work, just not during the test. I downloaded a different test app and all is fine.

Yes, the ads are a bit annoying but they’re necessary to keep the ap free - and for what you’re getting, it’s a small price to pay.

Instructions are easily understood and easy to follow. The dev team couldn’t have made it easier... unless they showed up and ran the test for you. 😄

Not selling my phone but having a “health check” lets me know everything is functioning as it should.

Can hear using them in TestM and other apps but test fails and does not give hearing input other than the doom tone it failed. Used four different ear buds and same thing. As to the touch screen test I really had to exert pressure to cover the whole screen.

I use an iPod touch and after installing TestM running either the full or quick test prompts the earpiece number thing (no earpiece on iPod) and tons of other tests fail just because sensor isn’t available.

I have a broken phone and I rely on auto correct to type for me most the time, I wanted to see where the dead zone was so that I know where I couldn’t do certain things. I set the phone down and played on my video games for an hour, The whole time TestM kept loading and loading. It wasn’t even worth it

It is good until the stress test. It says that I must not have a battery level above 97%, but mine was at 15%. It would not run the test. Other than that, good app.

Just bought a used iPhone. Very useful utility to thoroughly test a device. Straight forward. Will also use the report to sell my old phone. Recommended.

Its actually fun going through all the steps testing each aspect of your phone, and while doing this you’re actually gaining peace of mind about your device.

Just add a battery and maybe if possible an iCloud lock or phone password check.

Can't get it to work no how! Tried installing & uninstalling half a dozen times with same results. I see other reviews saying basically the same thing. Even with at least one revision released after the problem was acknowledged by the Developers.
Sorry folks you have to do better than this.
