I normally don’t write reviews unless something stands out and I have to say, I love ThePracticeCoDevotionals. So before I get into it, I want to start by offering an alternative thinking to the people who are discouraged about paying for ThePracticeCoDevotionals .

Brothers and Sisters! The Pocket Fuel team is spending their time to develop, curate, create, and maintain this beautiful app. And for a dollar a month on the yearly subscription you are buying essentially a digital book that is being written before your eyes with 365 days of devotions that are written in a unique and loving way spreading truth and reminding our forgetful self of Gods love and our relationship with him. You wouldn’t go to a book store and demand free bibles or devotional books - people spend precious time to put those works together and we can at least honor them by paying a small price to support and encourage them. Secondly, regarding access to prior (archived) devotions, think of it this way. Those were precious books that were written. If you’ve ever read a book series, you’ve most liked had to pay for the books as they were released. It’s the same thing!

I love ThePracticeCoDevotionals! I love the wall papers, I love the series and transitions and I love the message! Please never stop because I don’t think I can do any other devotional after Pocket Fuel! Thank you so much for your ministry! So I wrote a review about ThePracticeCoDevotionals previously (that I still included below) that described my sadness when faced with an in app issue that I could not resolve. I am so happy to say that once I posted the review I was contacted by Jesse (and always by extension, Liz) who not only helped me correct my issue, but also kept my spirit full by providing me with the devotional I couldn’t access via email. I am so grateful for Liz and Jesse and this wonderful app. 🤗🤗🤗
I included my original review below because I believe it’s important to recognize a journey. My negative experience was completely turned around, something that cannot always be done.

I installed ThePracticeCoDevotionals, loved the trial and purchased ThePracticeCoDevotionals , something I never do, because information is literally free on the internet. Nevertheless, I purchased the PocketFuel app only to repeatedly be told that the devotional is unavailable. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and tried restoring the purchases, after which I am told that there isn’t one associated with my account. This is untrue as it was immediately reflected in my iTunes Account balance. I’m super disappointed that I can’t use ThePracticeCoDevotionals now and even more upset that it crashed immediately after I purchased it.

ThePracticeCoDevotionals is one of the best things that ever happened to me. I grew up in a religious family, going to church on Sunday and saying my nightly prayers with my parents.

Like some teenagers, I got lost and questioned my faith in God. I stopped going to church, stopped reading the word, and turned away. I tried filling myself up to the brim with school work and activities to keep me distracted from what I truly felt. I felt alone, depressed, and abandoned. I’ve tried app after app trying to force some sort of reconnection to give me the comfort that He was still there. None of them really resonated with me. They seemed empty, like there was no legitimate energy to them. I felt discouraged.

Pocket Fuel has done everything right for me. Just two weeks ago I decided to try finding God again. I found ThePracticeCoDevotionals and it’s been fantastic! The devotionals have such powerful messages written in a way that I can understand and make me think. The messages stick with me all day, I always find myself going back to what I read and I really find that important. ThePracticeCoDevotionals is easy to use, the wallpapers are fantastic, and it overall helps me guide myself through this. I’m thankful for finding ThePracticeCoDevotionals when I did :)

My husband and I have been using ThePracticeCoDevotionals for quite a few years. What I personally love about it are many things. Many of us grew up in the church and therefore were “brainwashed” for lack of a better word, into not thinking outside of anything we were not taught on a pew on a Sunday. This produced massive amounts of judgement attitude and left little room for grace. In my life God has shown up and shown me so much about acceptance and love since that time. Liz and her many guest writers take everyday life and experiences and WRAP them in love. The very basis of Jesus’ messages. You will never not get at least one nugget out of these devotionals. I’m truly grateful for the time I get to spend with Liz each time I open one of these outpourings. And truthfully her writings have led to me opening up books of authors I previously knew nothing about. I will continue reading these until the writing stops. Hopefully that won’t happen for a very long time. I highly recommend!

i started ThePracticeCoDevotionals the day after i was released from my hospitalization with my second instance of post partum psychosis (that was super , super spiritual both times) and a diagnosis of PTSD. each prose and reflection would speak truth to my circumstance & i could and can sense the holy spirit (through ASMR - totally look that acronym up for some fun research brothers and sisters ) with each morning devotional, strengthening my spiritual habitualism. i spent the 15 dollars for a year because i would spend that much on a book (and i have!) with this amount of thoughtful, intellectual, relevant information. thank you to every single writer, creative, developer who had a hand in this creation. it has been a part of my stabilization and connection to the Lord's word! my fervor for christ is practiced with your work, you are a blessing by sharing His word through your interpretation! thank you , thank you , thank you ! so much love to you for your gift, it's beautiful. - amber herald

I‘ve been in the Christian bubble since I was a child. What I’ve found to be one of the most difficult things about the bubble and about relatability to Christianity in general is “Christian language”.

On the one hand, in many Christian spheres, there is a disconnect from our humanity - speaking a language that does not translate to our earthly realities of pain, struggle, suffering, doubt, wrestling, questioning. There is sometimes an airy and whimsical language filled with fantastical concepts, platitudes and an overdose of sugary politeness.

And on the other hand, there is a pedantic, intellectual language filled with scholarly concepts that miss the basic goodness of the gospel - a language that does not speak to the simple power of communion with God and each other by just being here and human and alive and present.

The Practice Co devotionals are the sweet spot, the beautiful balance. Without sugarcoating and without being too heavy, the devotionals are both simple and profoundly deep.
These short reads make Biblical concepts and perspectives (and Christian life in general) more real and relatable than hours long sermons I’ve listened to.

Everything about my experience with The Practice Co has exceeded expectations. Not to mention how helpful Jesse was when there was a glitch in my app. He followed up on making sure the issue was fixed and made sure I got my daily devotions until it was.

I am so thankful for ThePracticeCoDevotionals and can’t recommend it enough.

In all honesty, I have NOT been very good at sticking to reading plans or devotionals. I have a full page list of devotionals I’ve begun & have not finished within my Bible app. However, somehow, with this devotional, I’ve been consistent & have completed at least 5 - 6 plans (new personal best). This is largely due to how rich & insightful the writings are!

They do a great job at speaking into the places and spaces of life that connect with one another. It honors the complexity of life by writing in such a way that leaves room for healthy ambiguity, and individual processes to fill in the blanks. It leads you to think differently about your thoughts, emotions, spirituality, and how they influence one another. It’s filled with mindful prompts that are always profound.

Less homework-ish & more meditation-y.

When reading, you can tell the authors have been through some stuff with regards to the rigidity of church, religion, and traditional ways of thinking. Some of that old pain bleeds through in the content, but there is something about that rawness & authenticity that makes the insight relatable rather that coming from a place of “I have overcome this”.

I go to ThePracticeCoDevotionals most mornings of the week, and I usually never regret taking those 10 minutes to dig into my own heart & get honest about what’s there. Thank you for helping to facilitate a more meaningful connection to myself and what makes me, me.

I can’t speak highly enough about ThePracticeCoDevotionals. I’m someone who, despite spending the entirety of my education (from preschool to my masters degree) in religious institutions, has never been very connected to my faith. Recently, I’ve wanted to rekindle that connection but didn’t know where or how to start and wanted something that offered a modern perspective that I could vibe with without feeling like I was being smacked over the head with my bible. ThePracticeCoDevotionals is the perfect combination of mindfulness, faith, meditation, reflection, history lesson, bible study, and beautiful graphics. I love that there are series to follow and that it moderates your consumption with one post a day and it’s the perfect start to my mornings! It is very much worth the affordable price tag and I’m so happy with the value it’s brought to my life. I’ve recommended it to a bunch of people and also love following the Instagram account for more of their beautiful graphics and words of affirmation!

I was introduced to The Practice Co. on Instagram when a friend sent me a post last year on grief...right after my dad passed away from cancer, only nine days after receiving his diagnosis. I like to do things “well,” and wanted to be intentional this past year on how to grieve...this account has helped me through that and appreciate life even more. I ironically work as a nurse in the intensive care unit, so am faced with sickness and death every day...yet feel more full of life than I probably ever have before.

I’ve been told a few times recently by new-ish people I’ve met at work things like, “wow, it’s nice talking about deep stuff with someone,” or, “not a lot of people want to think/feel that intentionally.” I’ve been blessed to have grown up with and still be surrounded by friends that are lovely...and we often are checking in with each other about the “hard stuff” of life, so I forget that not everyone is used to that sort of thing. The posts inspire me to continue to help people slow down, be intentional, and appreciate the life that we have to live.

Besides really enjoying the Instagram page, I’ve also recently downloaded ThePracticeCoDevotionals and purchased an annual subscription to the devotions. They’ve been such an encouragement, especially during these strange times.

I feel that I’m on the same page as the writers of ThePracticeCoDevotionals, but they’re able to put things much more eloquently than I. It’s such a blessing to have available!

I have to start off by saying I’ve never in my life been a wildly religious person. I started reading devotions recently as a way to connect myself with someone I know will always have the right path for me in mind. This platform provides a convenient yet simplistically powerful message every single day. I read it at night as a way for my brain to ease before I sleep. I rejoice in the fact I’ll have another tomorrow to look forward to. The words make sense. The meaning is truthful and is no more and no less than what is needed every single day. It’s informative, and yet a wonderful short story all wrapped into a post covered by an inspirational quote that triggers you to start developing emotions towards it. I’m proud to be a part of this and I would scream from the rooftops how amazing it is, but for the sake of my neighbors I digress here in this review. Seriously all my recommendation goes to Liz and Jesse. They are amazing, and so it’s Pocket Fuel! 5 stars, blown away.

Pocket Fuel has managed to create a conglomeration of self-help, faith exploration, and FAQs that I’m so immensely greatful to have found.

I grew up as a Christian, going to a Christian grade school and high school, surrounded by my faith. Now I attend a private non-religious college 2 states away from home. I attended a church for the first two years but stopped going due to a variety of reasons. I didn’t necessarily lose my faith, but I feel like it was dampened. I wasn’t talking to God or feeding my faith as much as I thought I should.

I tried out a few different apps for devotional but none really spoke to me, feeling kind of boring and bland, echoing the words that I had grown up with (nothing wrong with that but I wanted something new, I wanted to learn).

Then I found Pocket Fuel. The devotions are easy reads and they have impactful messages. The wallpapers are beautiful as well. I often find myself thinking about certain aspects of my faith in a different way, with a better understanding of why I believe what I do.

ThePracticeCoDevotionals has helped me strengthen my faith once again. I’ve also been trying to establish a healthy daily routine focused on wellness and the consistency of the devotions have helped me structure my faith into my day.

I’d give more than 5 stars if I could! I definitely recommend for anyone wanting to easily incorporate their faith into their routine and get a daily dose of life medicine.

Bro. Idk who is leaving these 1 star reviews. And not gonna lie it made me skeptical. But let me save you the heart ache - get ThePracticeCoDevotionals.
2 weeks of free devotionals which is a healthy amount of time to see if your comfortable with ThePracticeCoDevotionals . And then it’s only 12$ a year!!! Which again seems like a lot for an app but it’s a WHOLE year AND it’s like the best devotional book you could have that will never be dated. Think of it as 365 wonderfully brilliant and new devotions a year.
The heart that goes into these devotions shows nothing but uplifting Holy Spirit guidance. I love ThePracticeCoDevotionals. Truly. I can’t thank the developers enough. It’s great guidance to get in tune with your life and the word. And also poets, and art, etc etc

I have been using ThePracticeCoDevotionals for over 3 years and It’s probably the most consistent thing I’ve had at some really inconsistent and chaotic times in my life. I’ve made using ThePracticeCoDevotionals a part of my routine and it truly keeps me going. The devotional delivers wonderful and the consistency in the visuals and messages are so incredible. I often think that I couldn’t relate to a devotional more but then I read the next one and I’m hooked all over again.

The visuals are absolutely beautiful and I often share them and always rotate though them as my phone background. It’s great because my friends and I all have it and we I’ll often read the devo and talk or text each other about it. It’s like bible study.

I truly can’t say enough good things about this medium for Gods word. I am so happy that A dear friend told me about it years ago and I couldnt imagine my daily routine without it.

I really enjoyed ThePracticeCoDevotionals the minute I downloaded!

CUSTOMER SERVICE: The issues I had were that my dailies weren’t uploading and I hadn’t noticed for weeks at a time. But I think the issue may have been that I originally subscribed and then had to unsubscribe for a handful of months. Once I resubscribed, my app had periodically reverted back and my subscribed dailies disappeared. I contacted customer service and, I have to say guys, Jesse was super helpful and took the time to LISTEN to what was happening and responded accordingly! That in itself was amazing! There were no scripted responses that made you feel like you just wasted 20 minutes of detailed explanation or worst yet, automated responses by an AI! No, Jesse (and Liz💜) are just amazing!

APP: I love it (despite the slight hiccups I’ve encountered) I am still trying to make a habit of checking daily, and when I do, I am never disappointed with the messages! I have been on a journey of self love and mindfulness and these daily devotionals really are food for the soul!

I’m a college student who, after leaving home to go to school, stopped really going to church. I wanted to figure out if I really believed in what I’d been taught growing up, or if I had just never been taught different. All I knew is that I was tired of so many of the issues with churches and Christianity nowadays. I always felt like I wasn’t a good enough Christian, and some people even told me because I didn’t believe in all of the rules that I wasn’t a “real Christian”. This devotional was the first time I’ve ever felt connected to a message, and like the preacher (or in this case author) was actually talking in a way that made sense. I will forever be grateful to Liz Milani for allowing me to learn the message in a positive way and to finally feel like there is someone out there who believes what I do, and makes that message accessible. Love it!!

I am a mom of two little kids, and I had been struggling to find a devotional that I related to and that was easy to incorporate into my daily life. Everything I had found was either flowery and unrealistic or required more attention than I could give it in my 5 stolen minutes of free time. Lizzie & Jesse provide encouragement and they speak the truth. It’s not just their opinions it’s what they feel from their heart and what they’ve learned from God‘s teachings. They make it easy to understand what I may not fully understanding if I just read the Bible. They make everything relatable by using examples of real life experiences & challenges they faced in their own lives revealing the truth about how difficult and challenging life can be and also how amazing it can be when draw closer to God. I have been reading ThePracticeCoDevotionals for years and I love it more today than I did years ago I am so grateful for their work and I pray that they know how much of an impact they’re real writing Affects and helps others with the challenges people face in their daily lives. Growth until the Grave. It’s something I’ve come to realize is a necessity in all areas of my life especially in my faith and spirituality. It’s not about religion. And when the words “Daily Devotional” are used a feeling of religiosity can emerge.
The Pocket Fuel reads do not elicit that feeling.
These words are always thoughtful and thought provoking, in the way that they ask you to search your soul, own your belief and do the work of growing your own personal faith. It’s a great component to any spiritual practice.
The offerings are often timely and relevant to me, which is the daily reminder that I need about how God sees me and I can trust Him. And that is powerful.
I have nothing but praise for ThePracticeCoDevotionals and am grateful that Liz & Jessie share their gift for authentic words with the world. It is necessary and significant.

I’ve been following Liz and Jesse’s journey on Instagram for a while now after happily coming across it (or should I say being led to it 😉). Every single piece I’ve read has touched my heart in ways that truly don’t fit into words. These devotionals channel such warmth and understanding that I can’t help but be awestruck every time! Truly a gem to start or end each day with! The words here transcend limitations, beliefs, conditioning, and even their own words themselves.. Each ‘devotional’ takes you into a place within yourself that aids in your own journey and in your own healing; The Divine channels through. The light that is shown through the verses and the perspective of thought throughout any series is no less than an awakening experience. Every. Time. God bless!

PocketFuel has become an essential part of my daily devotionals, right along with the Daily Audio Bible and readings from Jesus Calling. Together (three, always three :)) I have the prayer and faith resources to connect, to renew and to grow. PocketFuel has the added benefit of being so inspirational when it comes to creative expression and writing that is real and from the heart of someone who is not afraid to share the truth of a faith journey engrained in the daily realities of life. The imagery used is something I very much enjoy seeing everyday and provides the perfect entry point to thought-provoking reflections on scripture. There is heart and soul and truth to each daily posting. It’s a blessing to have discovered PocketFuel, one for which I will always be thankful.

Made the switch to pocketfuel after subscribing to the DVO app for a couple of years. The devotionals have helped me immensely... the insight, knowledge, application and point of view of familiar bible passages and biblical teachings is truly a breath of fresh air. Being a Christian my whole life, these devotions came at a time when I needed them, so I could stay fresh and invested in my faith. Forever grateful to my friend who told me to get it years back.
There are so many times when the verse of the day I know by heart, and the teachings around it I could tell you verbatim, but then the devotion surprises me and gives a perspective I haven’t ever heard in a sermon.
So if you’re hungry for fresh perspectives and insights this devotion is for you!

ThePracticeCoDevotionals is gold. In a world of bells and whistles, flashy, high tech graphics, this is extremely user friendly. Easy on the eyes and mind, especially early mornings when I’m not quite ready to take in the noise of this world.
The beginning nugget of truth begs you to go deeper into the devotional reading, which is so simple, yet so profound. Words that are down to earth and heartfelt, rather than robotic or preachy.
I especially appreciate the use of the variety of versions of scripture references out there, such as The Passion Translation and The Message.
ThePracticeCoDevotionals has my heart, especially as we approach the next wild decade. I already see it as one of my daily trustworthy sources of Word from my Father. ❣️

The way Christianity is exposed in these devotions with such a spiritual and down to earth feel is something I’ve been craving for some time now. I always wade in and out of “religion,” so to have found devotionals that are relatable on all levels of spirituality, which pull quotes from well known authors or philosophers to help substantiate the thoughts unraveling into words, has been (quite literally) Heaven sent.

I love the subtle daily reminder that doesn’t let me forget to check out today’s devotional and the option to review devotionals from the previous days. THIS is BY FAR the best devotional app IOS has to offer. Soul food for sure for anyone who enjoys tapping into their spirituality.

This is honestly the first review I have ever written & if that doesn’t tell you something I don’t know what will! I have only had pocket fuel for a couple of days & I am in love with it! It is my favorite app!! They have the cutest wallpapers that I personally use as a daily motivation to send to my social media followers & the girls that I lead in a bible study! The devotions are spot on & not cliche at all!
