This is only the first day of my free trial and I am absolutely frustrated with the app. I can’t even complete a speaking exercise because the app said, “It’s taking too long to get to your results, but they’re not lost!” Then I had to redo the exercise over 20 times to get the same message... I will probably delete the app today without finishing the 7 day free trial because of this.

The app is great. So far, I have learned a lot and has a lot of great content. However, I have noticed there is a lot of bugs. Sometimes when I do the video recordings, it says it cannot connect to the server. It also takes a while for sections to begin. Right now as we speak, I am stuck on a loading screen on the introduction section. It has been an hour so far. I was going to do a year subscription but I’ll do a month for now to see if the bugs get sorted and if the app gets more smooth.

One of my goals is to not only be a better public speaker, but to enunciate more clearly. When I saw an app like Orai existed, i felt it was a good opportunity to learn new skills that I would need. Unfortunately, the app has many problems with detecting pauses. Every single practice, it says the sentences are ‘too long.’ No matter how long you pause for (I’ve sat in silence for 5 seconds just to see if it recognized the end of a sentence), or even if you say ‘end sentence’ or ‘period’, it ignores this and treats every sentence as a single, long sentence. This problem means that you end up stalling and restructuring your speech unnaturally, defeating the entire purpose of the app. The idea of this app is good, and I support its mission, but the inaccuracy of the technology means that I cannot recommend it.
