JQBX: Discover Music Together Reviews

I downloaded JQBX with the intention of using it for band practice. We all will connect to our private group and play the same song at the same time in our headphones so we can stay on time and not hurt our ears listening to everyone. A few things that stand in the way of us doing that are that you can’t play a specific song off of your playlist, you have the shuffle through and find it that way. Another thing that gives us a hard time is that all the phones don’t sync up perfectly on their own, so someone will be off by a few seconds and it messes with the whole performance, I hope this can be fixed in a later update but for now we have to click the sync button that doesn’t even really sync, it just stops your phones audio for a second so everyone can catch up, so it’s a whole process. One more thing that bothers me is that there isn’t a pause button, it’s not the biggest deal it’s just a mild inconvenience that I hope can be fixed in some way

This is what the world needs right now! Hope Jason and the people JQXB can keep JQBX alive. I literally wanted to invent JQBX this week and low and behold someone already had the amazing idea. Great interface and ease to use. Could use a few
Improvements and Admin controls but other than this is amazing! Great to share and sue with family and friends during zoom meetings and such. 🙏🏾

Ever since the demise of turntable and soundrop, I would randomly search for a new social music sharing app. Well after YEARS, of longing for a new app, HERE IT IS. mood and work like instantly upgraded. Discover new music, Let other people make that tough decision of “what should I listen to today” for ya, make new friends, have fun with old friends. JQBX is A+++ and hope that it continues to grow and get better and better!

If you love music and or like to chat with others in real time then this is JQBX for you. I have heard and learned so much music by joining rooms where the songs are played in real time by other music lovers from around the world. this app is a supportive community and provides a great place to listen to music new and old as well as connect with others! There is also a web app as well for laptops and computers.

JQBX has done what others couldn’t I can listen and comment in a private room with family and friends and helps so much with my husband overseas we listen to music together and share new songs we’ve discovered there is room for improvement and new Im features but compared to other apps this one is so much better

i think the concept and execution are really straightforward, and i could definitely see myself using this regularly. feels like a lot of social music apps kinda just have something missing and this is a pretty elegant solution. however, there are issues with the design of JQBX , making it take a second to get used to
having a profile button would be helpful
having a button to join the room of a follower or start ur own in the center would be helpful
also some sort of helper just to explain how to work it like in discord or whatever
other than that really cool. just find ways to make the user end more ergonomic and it would be very very cool

It’s a fun app to discover music but there are issues. Sometimes when you’re looking for music to put in your queue it won’t load. You can put album name, and artist and it’ll take forever. On top of that, if JQBX crashes you might be out of luck. When JQBX crashes, theres a chance you’re going to have to wait a longggggg time before it logs you back in. It keeps kicking me out of rooms saying more than one device detected, and you have to log out and wait for it to log you back in again it’s ridiculous.

I have a similar problem as someone else where only about 10 songs show up in queue or in a playlist. This makes it a little more difficult to browse for songs to add from playlists and also to manage the queue. Only happens on JQBX and not the web version. It’s a small issue and otherwise a great app, would recommend

I love JQBX to share music with friends, but there are several bugs, it sometimes crashes when you open another app. When your hear a voice note the music sometimes doesn’t play again, you have to enter JQBX and sync music

This is such a sensational app, it really feels a gigantic hole in music streaming. This deserves far more attention than it’s currently receiving. Everything is well thought out, shared DJ controls, playlist imports, voting system, music searching.... it all just works. Bravo

I have grown to appreciate the convenience and comfort of Spotify Premium for a few years, and rekindled my DJ jones with turn-based sites like turntable.fm and ping.dj. So I was over the moon when I learned that there was a new service that would combine these two things! It's a delight to be able to share my favorite tunes with rooms of listeners...turning others on to tracks they haven't heard and discovering new delights myself.

If I could ask for any improvements, I could only name two:
1. A scalable version of JQBX for tablets/iPads
2. The ability to ghost/hide songs that are unplayable for my region

Other than that...I love it.

I downloaded JQBX, and was excited to use with my friends and boyfriend. But it was the most confusing thing to do, it would not let me play the songs I would chose and at one point the other person in the room couldn’t even listen to the song. Download at your own risk. Maybe if they made it easier to use I would get it again. It made me tear out of frustration

Me and my friends at the office love using this to share music while at work. Lets us each of us share our favorite songs and also a great way to discover new music. Definitely my new favorite way listen to music! 7/5 would recommend.

I love the idea of JQBX but so far it’s been very buggy. JQBX doesn’t ever remember my login information, it takes forever to log in, and it’s almost impossible to search anything.
That being said, I love he idea of JQBX. A group of people listening to music and talking about it together. Good stuff. I hope these bugs get smoothed out and JQBX catches on more.

A good app that shows promise, but if you’re trying to use it to play music on multiple devices at a party as a speaker kind of system, it doesn’t work. The DJ’s music has a slight delay pushing to the other devices so not really in sync, and the sync music button doesn’t quite work as you’d want.

I like the idea and it is fun when it’s working! But I have had JQBX freeze a few times on my queue, making me have to restart JQBX . I also can’t seem to figure out how to favorite a friend’s private room, so I have to search it and enter the password it every time I want to join.

JQBX is beautifully perfect for listening to music with others but occasionally it will completely mute me from hearing anything? I usually have to restart the whole app for it to work again, super annoying. Especially if I really want to hear a particular song.

You can listen to music together even if you’re not together at all... even if you’re REALLY not together

I was so happy to get JQBX, sharing music with friends is great. However it it the most poorly designed App I’ve ever had. You cant figure out how to add friends and once you’ve spent 20 minutes getting them on there is no easy way to see whats playing. Skipping tracks is non existent, I cant even tell whats supposed to be playing or how to play it. Total garbage

This is an awesome way to find new music, I love it. You also meet all kinds of interesting people. Probably one of my all time favorite iOS apps.

I love JQBX and design that I am able to share music easily. My only issue is that when I open a playlist, no matter which it is, only about 10 songs display in the feed. When I use the search bar to look for them, they appear, but I physically do not see them when I scroll down the page on JQBX . Is this an issue you are aware of or is it just my account? Thanks!

Neat concept. Be cool if Apple Music worked also. Aurafy music discovery app is more social and has a similar function but the listen at the exact same time is pretty cool!

Great concept but the execution is lacking, sometimes audio cuts or it’s not playing at the time it’s supposed to. Both the website and app have problems.

Fun to share music with other people but continues to crash when I’m looking at a playlist or trying to add/remove a song from queue. Tried to remove app and redownload to no avail. App is constantly crashing making being a DJ impossible in rooms.

I thought this was a great app except it won't play Hindi songs. It plays Spanish, Tagalog, French, etc... Everytime a Hindi song comes on, it's silent and it looks like it's playing. This works for a room with users or with just myself. It seems like something too contrived and possibly racist 😔
