Okay so I saw Tap and thought ‘this is gonna be so good, plus its by Wattpad so huge plus’ but no it was all LIES and DISAPPOINTMENTS. The add I saw for it looked really good, so I tapped it and got Tap -when It FINALLY downloaded not only was it REALLY slow, but there was not exit button on the story. I thought it was weird but didn't linger on it because I thought I was about to read and awesome story. Im probably about 15 taps in before it presents me with a choice, in which I could not skip-and I couldn't leave the story-but I had to get premium to select a choice. But I cant because money doesn't grow on trees. I understand the ‘you have yo wait 30 minuets’ thing because otherwise there would be no need for a premium and nothing would be gained from Tap by the developer, but dont present Tap with all those premium things that we average people cant get. At the very least give me an exit button.
Tap was not at all thought out well. There are so many flaws with it. Plus in some of the other comments, I saw something about needing to read some horror story beforehand-not everyone can read horror stories. As a kid I couldn't even watch/read Goosebumps without having bad nightmares. This could be a great app, it just need A LOT of work. A LOT.

I don’t know how else to describe Tap in one word other than disappointing.

I was so excited to download Tap; to read stories and to make some of my own. But when you first download Tap , it makes you click through a boring story about some murderer girl. That’s not what I want to read! I came to pick my own stories. I figured it was a tutorial and kept going. However, I found that it only got worse from there. It’s not just a tutorial, for one thing. It counts as the first story you read. You have to pay for pictures, video calls, voice notes; pretty much everything that makes the story interesting. And while reading the boring pre-story, you only get 20 taps before you have to wait 30 minutes to this app again, to finish a story you didn’t even get to choose to read! Not to mention, the premium is EXPENSIVE. It’s like Wattpad is trying to burn holes through your pockets. First Wattpad premium, now this fail. It’s disgusting to even think about.

In short, Tap is a waste of time. I can’t even make my own stories! It’s honestly so boring with all the limitations and I will laugh hysterically if I hear that anyone actually paid for this garbage. This is one costumer you won’t be luring in, “this app.”

I love these kind of interactive chat games so much. And so when I saw that Wattpad had one, I was so excited. But when you first open Tap you’re forced to read a story that you didn’t even pick! I tried many times to click out or go to the home page. But Tap wouldn’t let me. And then after tapping a few times a video chat request comes up. Which sounded awesome, when I taped the “accept” button a page came. The page talked about how to answer the call I had to pay. A little shocked I continued with the story. I was flabbergasted to see that I also had to pay to see pictures! I understand that Tap has to make money, but the price for weekly subscription is a little pricey. Plus what if I simply don’t want to pay. By not being able to see the pictures and videos I don’t get the real experience. Why not just ask for donations, people will more inclined to donate if they truly love your app. But nooooo. Instead you force us to read a story we never chose then you charge us so much money to see pictures and videos. Really dislike Tap , definitely going to delete it. If you’re thinking about getting Tap be prepared to spend money to be a part of the story!

I’ve had so many chat story apps, and I was expecting this one to be impressive, just like the Wattpad app. First, I’d like to say, I have no regard for the demon child story. That is not why I downloaded Tap . Having to pay $8 for VIP is almost as ridiculous as the premium version of Wattpad- no one wants that. If the pictures, calls, etc. are essential to the story, I should not have to pay to view them. That is impractical, and certainly does not convince anyone to pay for them. A developer as successful as you should not feel the need to drain as much money out of your following as you can. I do understand the timer, as chat stories are a much faster (and less interesting) read than the stories on your other apps. However, that does not make this a sufficient story app. You cannot simply take the ideas of others, dress them up as your own, and make the people who have been supporting you for years pay for the same swill everyone else is peddling. Tap is quite a disappointment and I believe I will have to stick with the original Wattpad.

Tap is so annoying.... When you first open Tap , you have to go through a story that you DONT want to read. After one chapter of the story I was forced to read, I though that it would let me close out and choose my own..... I was wrong. I couldn’t close out of the story so I had to wait like 3 hours before I got more taps. So basically you get to this app on a screen ten times, wait a couple of hours to get more, and then go through that process until your done reading the WHOLE story. The problem with this is that the story’s they choose are so long. I’ve had Tap for almost a week, and I’m still not done with the story. Absolutely ridiculous. I love Wattpad, but Tap is just trash and it needs to be removed from Tap Store. I just deleted Tap maybe 20 minutes ago, so I’ll never know how it feels to get to actually choose your own story.....

I downloaded Tap as a way to pass the time and it was a HUGE mistake. When you first download it you’re FORCED to play through a story that you don’t care about. Then you get a video call which seems like a cool feature but in reality you have to BUY PREMIUM. You can’t leave the story and then you can’t finish because you have to wait 30 some minutes to get more taps. You can’t even view the probably horrible photos without upgrading. And the premium is freaking $7.99!!! I get that they want to raise some money but I JUST DOWNLOADED the game for crying out loud! I’m not going to blow $8 on some game that I honestly don’t care about. They should let you experience the features for free at the beginning so you can decide for yourself if you want waste the money. If you can’t buy premium DON’T EVEN BOTHER! Waste of my time and frankly everyone else’s.

I used to have this app, about 4 months ago. It got deleted so I recently just bought it. When I used to play this app, you went through one quick trial THEN you could click out and pick whatever story you want. AND you could make a profile and make stories. I love this app bc I love to make scary convos on there but now I’m just stuck with reading diff books I don’t even want to read. Second of all, you can only this app 20 times until the next “you have to wait 30 minutes to this app again!” Thing comes up. I have to wait 30 minutes for a story I don’t even want to read. I’ve read them all already and I’m stuck with them!

You know how in the middle of the story, there’s a thing that pops up. A picture that one of the characters use and sent to the other person. There’s phone calls, pictures, videos, and audio of what might be happening to them in the story, you have to pay SO MUCH just to have a vip thing for a week. You also have to pay to keep reading without the “wait 30 min” thing pops up.

I’m deleting this app until I can click out of the story, and read whatever I want AND be able to make my own.

Let me start off by saying this will literally be the first review I’ve written on here. This was literally so bad that it annoyed me to the point of this. I LOVE Wattpad, I’ve used it for years. And when I clicked the advertisement on FB for Tap I didn’t even realize it was made by Wattpad! So at first I was double excited! A. The advertising got my attention with a pretty interesting sounding story. B. WATTPAD. But soon I found out that you had no choice but to click through this first terrible story that literally every single one of these text story apps has. Ya know, the one about the killer baby? Yeah. That. And you can’t skip passed it!!! Like I don’t care if you take all my taps but I don’t want to read this creepy story. Second you don’t even get five minutes into using Tap before it starts pestering you to pay for a subscription. Don’t ask me for money to read a story you’re MAKING people read. Oh well. Back to normal Wattpad I suppose.

I just got Tap, and I am very disappointed in it. I saw an add and was looking forward to playing a certain story. So, I get Tap and find out it is a choose your own adventure. I’m thinking “That’s awesome. This makes the story 10 times better.” So I start playing and I get to a spot where I have to choose an answer. I click on one option and then the other, and they BOTH require a membership to pick an answer. I had to stop playing the story which was really frustrating, and I am deleting Tap . Also, the add made it look like people were texting and it would be set up that way, but it’s not. It’s just a cheesy background and some white boxes. I gave this review 2 stars instead of one because I do enjoy the concept of Tap . I do think it could be better than other competing apps, but NOT without some improvements first.

I am an avid wattpad user and I absolutely adore Tap . I had been really hyped for the this app app, but when I got it... well, it wasn’t as great as I thought it would be.
First off, I’m not paying for extra features, so I do not get to see images, listen to videos, or choose alternate endings. However, because I’m not paying, I. Can’t. Choose.
Once you’re in a story, there is no home button. That was something I immediately noticed.
When it really became a problem was when I was in a story and had to choose between two options. When I clicked either one of them, a banner advertising premium popped up, saying I couldn’t choose unless I got it.
I tried to get out to the main menu, but nothing worked.
The only way to get out of a story is to complete it, so if you don’t like the story or you don’t have Premium, sorry. There’s no way out.
I had to redownload Tap to my phone.
I’d like to see a feature where we can watch ads to unlock more taps, or stories, or see images. I understand the creators need to make money, but if there are advertisements, the people behind them have to pay for them to be on Tap and the creators will be making money.
Premium would be cheaper but still better as you wouldn’t have to watch an ad for everything. Perhaps there could be a limit to ads each hour/day?
Also, please. Make a home button! (Or at least notify us if it is an alternate ending story so we won’t make the mistake of clicking on it).

When I first got this app, it was horrible. I couldn’t choose the story I wanted to read, I couldn’t read the description of any stories, and overall I couldn’t get to even the home page. Now, I am able to get to the home page with just a swipe, choose the story I want to read (and even search specific ones up), and can now read the descriptions of stories more easily. I recommend creating an account or logging in, since Tap seems to work better when you do. You just can’t do the “choose your own ending” stories, which is annoying since almost all the ones that I want to read are like that. In order to read them, you have to have a subscription, which I’m not going to get just to read an interactive story.

this app is honestly the greatest thing. It keeps me busy when I'm bored and have nothing to do. I especially love the band Kpop Bts so I really enjoyed that there were Bts this app stories. I even made one and am working on three others. Anyways, ppl say they didn't like the stories in the beginning which we had to read. To me actually it didn't bother me that much and they weren't even bad stories. But there is one question or problem I have. Is there a certain way to get your this app stories read cause I have trouble getting ppl to read them while others get many views. I'm just wondering. But overall this app is great and its really fun creating stories! ❤️🤗

Yes, yes , YES! It’s been a year since I last downloaded Tap and when I deleted this app I forgot about it. Now I’ve come to the realization of how much I missed this. Other comments might say it’s stealing your money and you have to purchase to get exclusive privileges such as unlocking phone calls, choose your own endings, and video calls, but you can do that for free! this app lets you earn tickets and gems for unlocked things. I find it great that you can also make your OWN stories as well! (Although you need to make an account first , which by the way is super easy to do) Tap, in my opinion, is better than Hooked and Read It. Must download!!!!

About 6 months or like a while ago I use to play this app as I personally thought it was one of the better story driven games. Now I came back to it today and downloaded it and it’s very much stupid and dumb just a plain money grabber you don’t do a gem option and you really don’t get any experience out of the game. I didn’t do a gem option and my story ended not even 10 seconds later. Most people can’t afford to keep buying gems for the amount of gem options you put out especially like 20 gems each and the stories I read had 3 or more gem options. What a money rip off don’t recommend.

So, I have an annual subscription (I get to see the picture/video messages within the story, don’t have a wait time, unlimited taps, and get access to all stories on Tap , etc) and I love it.

The featured stories are great, this app Originals is an extremely unique series that before this app, no other chat stories app was doing, even without a subscription the wait time is like 20 minutes vs Hooked’s 35.

Something else great about this app: you can create your own account, have a library for stories you’re in the process of reading, and YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN CHAT STORIES FOR FREE! With all the other chat stories out there, this app is the only one I’m aware of that lets you make your own stories (Hooked removed their story writing tool this year) and that alone makes it a winner for me.

Everyone loves to complain about the wait time and having to pay for unlimited taps, etc. but you also have to understand what all goes into making an app. this app has to make money somehow. Not everything can be free.
