Inappropriate ads for kids at $99/year.

Hi,

I write this to share with you my extreme disappointment in your app, Atlas Mission. It's educational and my six year old son likes playing it, even though it's too easy. The problem I have is in app advertising. I paid $99 for your app, for the year. For that kind of money there should be ZERO in app ads. Free apps are lousy with ads, so I buy apps to limit my son's exposure. Not to mention the inappropriateness of the ads! If AtlasMission1kidslearning is for children, why are there ads references people dating each other??? Who is your content manager? Shame on you and your company.

Not only will I not be renewing my annual subscription, I will be deleting your app and any related content from my devices. I will also be posting this to the review section to share with other discerning parents, so they may make an educated decision regarding your product.

Do not buy, they will stuff you with automatic renewal

For 100 usd/yr its a very expensive app which is OK. But they enforce automatic renewal and in a years time when you don't even use it anymore .... they will not warn you of renewal, just hit you again.... And if you try to cancel it will not allow you to recover your money until you speak with apple support etc etc.
Apple should not let expensive apps to automatic renew unless you chose to do so when you buy it.

It’s been fun Atlas

My son loved playing/learning with AtlasMission1kidslearning, unfortunately we’ve had several issues with it continually crashing across several devices (iPad, iPhone, Galaxy) and now my six-year-old doesn’t even want to open it. It’s really a pity because he enjoyed it very much, and we don’t let him play nonsensical games, but you can’t expect a child to sit and watch a screen stuck in loading mode for ten minutes. When I reached out to the Atlas team though they did reply immediately, they told me to delete AtlasMission1kidslearning and re-download (something that we had already done to the point of exhaustion), further disappointment ensued when they denied my request for reimbursement given that we couldn’t use it at all these past few months. I guess it’s back to the hands-on learning and books for us. Outsourcing our child's learning to a device is probably a road we should not have ventured down regardless.

Eh!

I bought AtlasMission1kidslearning in the hopes of helping my son to read, but honestly i’m not seeing why a $20 a month subscription is needed. It’s a pretty basic app. I think I might go back to ABC mouse thats very helpful and cheaper. I understand the costs of making an app, but for $20 a month it could be better.

Great game, but too expensive!

My 3 year old loves this game, so when he came to the end of the trial I considered buying. I can’t justify paying $20 a month or $99 a year for a game that he plays a few times a month (we only use apps in doc offices, etc). If it was more affordable, then more people may be able to buy it. In addition, my son can’t even go back to other episodes to continue playing once he completed the trial. So now it’s useless. As of right now AtlasMission1kidslearning receives three stars because of affordability, but other than that it is a good game just be wary of the prices and the trial will not last long.

Great app, but subscription way too expensive

AtlasMission1kidslearning is really well made and engaged my 4 year old for a short period of time. I expected to pay around $5 (sometimes a little more, sometimes it’s less) for the full or premium version if I saw that my son liked it. I was shocked when after completing the initial free trial version to find the cost of the “subscription” to continue. I needed to subscribe for $20/mo or $99/year! Seriously?! What a shame that the subscription cost is exorbitant. AtlasMission1kidslearning gets 5 five stars and the subscription cost gets 0 for an average of 3 stars.

The developer seems to really care for its users. I had a couple of questions about how best to use the game with my child, and they were super-prompt in responding to my messages. Good app.

I was very happy and pleased to find a good and rewarding game for my children

Really good app, but the developers should create an iphone version as well. I sometimes need to use the ipad and would like to let my 5 year old play on the iphone while I am using the iPad

All around great game

I was a little hesitant at first to pay for this game because it felt expensive. But, we have loved Atlas Mission. My boys have played this game for a little over a year. It’s not just the game that I love. It came with several STEAM modules and I loved doing them with my boys. I will probably do them over again now that they are a little older. I also get emails from Atlas Mission wit great ideas for learning through play (and the emails are often hilarious, so even if I don’t use their ideas, they give me a good laugh). But one other thing that I love about Atlas mission is that they include “eye breaks”. So they will have the kids stop and do something not related to the technology. Like the other day when one of my sons ran up and gave me a hug and told me that Atlas Mission said to hug someone. Pretty cool! I would totally recommend this game.

Excellent preschool learning app

An excellent preschool learning app that has engaged my child right from the get go. This is pretty much the only app that she wants to play whenever we let her have some screen time.

Wonderful learning game

My daughter is struggling in reading so we downloaded this game for her. It has helped her so much already! She loves playing the game! Happy we found AtlasMission1kidslearning.

Engaging

This is a great app that is inclusive with parents but with plenty of individual time too. We look forward to leaving up though the summer on the hot mid days.

Perfect for my 5 year olds needs!

My daughter is starting kindergarten this year and I wanted to find an app to help her start reading. After just a couple of days playing the fun and engaging games she is reading and is so proud of herself! She also loves learning facts about all the different countries. Great app!

Loved this app

My daughter loved AtlasMission1kidslearning, it wasn’t the same game over and over each level. She loved the variety it offered and it kept her engaged and learning!!

kindergarten games

Outstanding app that has lots of fun learning games for kids, all woven together into a very interesting story involving visiting different countries and learning things about each country (things that even we grown-ups don't know!)

A best learning app for your kids !

Apart from being the best learning game for kids in kindergarten that I've come across, what made upgrading to your full version a no-brainer is that I know that my money is going to help educate some disadvantaged kids living in India and Africa. You should probably advertise this aspect more. Keep up the good work!

My child loves this app!!!

I came across AtlasMission1kidslearning lastweek on Facebook. I downloaded it for my 6 yr old to try out. She really loved it and came to show me that In order to continue using it, I would have to upgrade. I asked if she liked it better than a current app that were subscribed to. She said yes, so I cancelled the old app!

I was very surprised, I am very happy because my child like this game it is very useful

This is a stupendous app for kindergarten reading! My son used to struggle with his reading. I had tried quite a few different apps and reading programs for him but he would invariably get bored after a while and refuse to use them. But with the Atlas Mission, he himself asks to use it every day. And he has become far better at reading now than he was before he used the atlas mission.

She loves it!

Our four year old daughter loves this educational app. She would stay on it for hours if we let her, but we keep it to thirty minutes per day.

UPDATE: After reading my review the developer emailed me to let me know that AtlasMission1kidslearning has a timer option, see their comment below. So cool! How thoughtful of them to let me know. I like this company even more now.

"You can also use our Timeout feature to automatically timeout the Atlas Mission after 30 minutes. That way, you don't have to be the "bad guy" :-) - it's Atlas who will tell your daughter after 30 minutes that he needs to sleep and recharge his batteries. To use the Timeout feature, tap on the Edit icon under your daughter's profile and then set the Timeout slider to 30 minutes."

It's good that out kids like game it's nice and useful

I have a 7-year old son who is on the spectrum. He loves playing this game every day and I'm really grateful to have finally found something that captures his attention.

Features

"What sets the Atlas Mission apart from other apps is that it's got so many different elements - it's got travel, stories, games, education, teaching hundreds of different words, and it's got a big storyline from start to finish.

"As a teacher, I recommend the Atlas Mission to parents because with the Atlas Mission, kids learn without realizing that they are learning... because they have so much fun playing, giggling... and just having an amazing time learning.

The Atlas Mission is based on path-breaking research conducted at the Carnegie Mellon University and the University of California, Berkeley over a period of 10 years.

I also love how the Atlas Mission takes kids around the world when they don't have the opportunity to do so themselves.
