The song I wanted to add to the playlist is in the iTune Library. I used to be able to add any song in the Library to the playlist. Songs were purchased individually. But it doesn’t seem to be possible anymore. So how can you add songs. I’m not savvy about app so need more thorough explanation.
Not continuously variable pitch shift, so this is not an appropriate practice aid for orchestral instruments. Too bad. If this were corrected, it could be useful, but as it is, the pitch change feature is worthless.
Not PocketJam letting me play the songs from file that was put in my phone keeps saying file failed
App doesn’t work.. waste of money … don’t buy..
Tried to add songs several times that are downloaded on my iPhone 7 (not from iCloud). When I click on the song it checks it as if it is being added, but every time, PocketJam does not actually bring them in and simply says "no songs added". Tried rebooting as well but no change. All software is up to date. So, PocketJam appears to be useless on the iPhone. Hopefully I can get a refund unless this bug is somehow fixed very soon.
Is there a way to export or share a file that I made changes?.
I like PocketJam very much, however having the scrolling button for moving forward and backwards in the song the same as the play and pause button is very difficult to work. Please change it to two separate buttons: a ball on the songs place in the song and a separate play/pause toggle button. This would be much easier to operate on a iPhone.
Another suggestion: it seems your App is changing the song as I tap the change in pitch or the change in speed. There lag delays on my iPhone 8 as I do this so the buttons seem very in responsive. Why not allow us to set the pitch and/or time and press a go button for PocketJam to do its work to transpose the song for speed we requested. That would be but a single delay.
Thanks for listening!
For the most part, PocketJam works as it’s supposed to. Was able to create a playlist to practice along with, I need to change the pitch of some songs as I play them indifferent tunings. Works great for that, but, I find it hard to press the pause/unpause button. It just starts skipping along the song then eventually it crashes.
I use PocketJam every single day. It has changed my life! I use it for my own practice and to help my students!
I commented before but I made a typo so I’ll explain again. The main complaint I have is that my imported songs get deleted. I wish PocketJam would save it. I figure it has to do with the file being moved to iCloud after being downloaded. Every time I want to use PocketJam - I need to re-download the songs, adjust the key/tempo, then delete the one that “could not be played”. I’m not sure if I’m explaining myself correctly. My boss is having the same problem. Please help.
Love PocketJam but as soon as I get halfway through my play list it won’t adjust the speed of songs anymore. Does it have a certain capacity for a certain number of songs?
PocketJam is great for practicing tap dance, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to use the speed trainer. As far as I can tell it does not increase speed within the set number of loops (I set it for 5 and at 10 I’m still going the same tempo) and after the latest update I have no idea what NaN means. Some basic explanatory notes would be very helpful! Also on the speed scrubber down there it would be nice to see what percent you’re starting at so I can match with the speed I set at the top of the screen instead of guessing roughly where 86% might be.
Seems like with the update we also lost the ability to set the start location of the loop. Now I always have to start at the beginning, but it would be nice to isolate a section mid-song.
I love the idea of PocketJam, but I’m unable to use songs I have the the Apple music app. Do I have to go to iTunes to physically buy them?
Ignore the reviews below. I took a chance on PocketJam after reading the reviews and it's perfect! To add songs simply select "add song" and point the program at your itunes directory. Plays both MP3's and songs purchased on the iTunes store (M4a). What I did notice is that the "add song" icon seems unusable (goes grey) after adding your first batch. Stays grey unless you clear your songs queued. It's likely user error. A simple work-around to this is to simply drop and drag songs you want to add from iTunes to PocketJam window. Other than that PocketJam seems to do exactly what I want (slows songs down while keeping pitch, and changes pitch while keeping tempo). 5 stars!
it’s an amazing app! my only thing is i would like to be able to download the changed track to upload into something like garage band to do digital covers. if there is a way, let me know, otherwise awesome!
Wish I would have had this technology 45 years ago to learn licks. Get it !
This works great... wish it stepped down in 1/4 note increments instead of 1/2... also noticed when I close PocketJam and come back next time my playlist is still there but it won’t let me play it so I have to clear list and re add them. Other than that it really works great for changing keys for different tunings on songs…
I use PocketJam all the time and I love it, but after a few updates ago the next song won’t automatically start without pressing play, so I have to walk over to my phone if it’s auxed or bluetoothed and switch to the next song. Also I don’t understand why tempo only goes up by 2% it’d be awesome if we could adjust it by 1%.
I’m lost. I have an .mp3 in my Dropbox but I don’t see anyway to access it. It appears that PocketJam only knows how to access the iTunes library? Thanks.
I’m an iPhone newby. Finally got the song I wanted in the right place. Love PocketJam! The group my wife plays with is constantly shifting keys from recordings we can find and being able to key shift a song is amazing. Also being able to slow it down for listening & learning is wonderful! Thanks for your quick response 😀!
Awesome Music App, please add a repeat option and color equalizer love PocketJam a lot
I'm a professional musician. My band is rehearsing for an upcoming show, but some of the songs we're doing are in different keys from the original recordings. This makes practice challenging. On a whim, I decided to see if there were any apps that could change the pitch of a song on the fly. I found two such apps. Pocket Jam looked better to my eyes, and was slightly less expensive. Even though it had no reviews, I decided to go for it. I'm glad I did.
Pocket Jam works perfectly for my purposes. It integrates seamlessly with Apple Music, which is my primary music provider. I did need to purchase the tracks I wanted to use from the iTunes Store, as it wouldn't work with songs streamed from the cloud. But that wasn't unexpected and not a big deal.
Once I had access to the music, it was extremely simple to create a playlist and start working with the songs. The pitch and tempo tools work flawlessly, with excellent audio quality. You can also place markers in a song for easy reference, and loop individual sections.
PocketJam is going to make rehearsals a dream. It solves multiple problems in one simple, fast, easy to use app.
I hope the developer will continue to fine tune this already excellent app. One feature I'd appreciate would be the ability to tune a song in smaller increments. Some recordings are a bit off pitch, and it would be very helpful to be able to adjust this for easier practice. The looping functions could also be improved and expanded upon.
Overall, an excellent, indispensable tool for musicians and bands. Highly recommended.

You can add songs from your Apple Music library — streaming or downloads — or from your Files on device, and play them back in real time, or export them.
Once enabled, drag the left and right handles on the play bar to set the start and end of the loop, and it'll loop between them.
You can change the pitch up and down — in real time — to any amount of semitones up to an octave.
